Hot Take: In XC1 the entire conversation just before the party enters Mechonis Field for the first time, especially Seven's line where she says "It's so different seeing them [Bionis and Mechonis] from this kind of perspective", is better gameplay-integrated and visual storytelling than some games have in their entirety.

And it's the same for the other Xenoblade games too, this series will ALWAYS be famous 😌

How much time do you think has passed in universe since book one in FEH? (I think it's the same as out of universe but that's no fun)

Because on one hand, you have Veronica aging up in her art and on the other:

a) I don't think some of the heroes would stick around for 7 years unless time is funky in Askr,

b) Books 3, 4, and 7 all take palce in less than a month (with 4 and 7 playing funny with time/dreams),

and c) It would be really funny if everything happened back to back in like 3 years

Askr has the worst fucking luck + they have a constant bandit problem that's been going for years so I imagine it's only been a few short years yeah 💀

Honestly Sharla would function a lot better if they just got rid of some of her blue arts and replaced them with more purple or red arts, maybe even a green.

Heat Bullet, Heal Counter, and Aura Bullet are main offenders IMO, cuz there are so many ways to get high tension, healing when taking damage is kinda useless, and you don't really need an entire art to make the most out of auras unless you're actually playing as Sharla.

Replace those with a deeper color variety and that's basically the biggest problem fixed, since her low general damage would be mitigated by better chain attacks and her long range, and Cool Off is something not that hard to play around since you have to keep watch of your surroundings as it is + heat sink gems make it less of an issue.

Idk, it's beating a dead horse at this point, but it makes me sad that Sharla is kind of not too fun to have in the party when she's a very underrated character writing wise given her positive love for her family and colony is kind of corrupted into a single minded desire for revenge, and how she lives her romantic desires through supporting Melia's crush on Shulk. Any incentive to use her more often than I do is greatly welcome, but as it is? Hm :/

What would you say is your favorite Heart-to-Heart in XC1?

It's been a long time since I last saw them all, and I'm gonna try to get them all in DE as they come up.

From what I do remember though, I like Sharla and Seven's final Heart-to-Heart, it's quite underrated given how the former is a bit unpopular compared to the rest of the party and how you get the latter so late. But Sharla's status as a medic and Seven's entire situation really just makes it heartwrenching but sweet at the same time.

Honestly, from what I recall most of Seven's Heart-to-Hearts are just extremely good.

If I had to get another pick, it'd be Dunban and Melia's final one as well, as their shared baggage with what Metal Face did to them is something I'm glad was explored.
