Project concepts
Our three main concepts we explored were:
1. The unity or separation of the mind and body 2. Expanded notions of observing performance (such as deep-listening and mindfulness) 3. The role of the senses in the making and viewing of time-based art

Day 5
Friday AM
Warm up: physical and yoga
Group Discussion – conclusions, drawing connections
- Sound experience vs recorded experience - Julia – got to know sounds of objects - Furthest away sounds, expanding perspectives, shift - Multi-sensory – no separation between music, dance and sound - Noe: further away - Present moment (mindfulness) - Whole week to explore this topic, slow down properly: my anxiety levels have dropped, others in group, felt more relaxed, more zen, feedback from our friends and family saying we’re not ‘all there’, zoned out - Intention: - just creating art, shared experience with curiosity and open mind within security of space **it’s all in the attitude**
Improvisations: a journey, a process, discovery NOT a finished product or strict ‘creation’? Have we created a product? Is it art? Are making art and performing art the same?
Group experiment: More ASMR-ing - Amy, me, Elliott
Description of my personal ASMR experience:
I experienced what I would say comes close to a ‘trip’ a person can have on hallucinogenic drugs..... for about 2 minutes I was totally unaware of where I was and was transported into this dark, forest with trees and monsters. When the others were touching me, I saw and felt these monsters with tentacles touching me. I didn’t panic as I knew it was imaginary, but I was amazed on how the experience awakened my deepest senses. It seems that taking away my sight, and employing the touch and sound triggers, opened up my mind to different possibilities...
