Embrace Croatia | Sirana Magriz, OPG Magriz, Krk
lifestyle documentary series Sea, Sun & Hedonism | intro OPG Magriz
In the picturesque island of Krk, the family farm behind which stands Mirjenko and Vesna Mrakovcic with their extended family. The family farm produces cheese, wine and olive oil. Traditional vintage production in a modern way and half a century of experience of the Mrakovčić family are a guarantee of a quality product. The cheese is produced from milk from our own dairy herd of sheep in the traditional way without pasteurization, with the addition of natural rennet and dairy culture. They have been producing Krk cheese since 1984, when they had only 9 sheep in breeding. Today, they raise a herd of 150 milking Krk sheep.
The farm got its name Magriž from a very common plant species on the island of Krk — the immortelle. In their production, they also use some herbs, such as rosemary or walnut leaves. They are best known for their Zeleni and Črni bodul cheeses, Magriž and the classic Krk sheep cheese. Today, they have more than 50 awards at numerous events across the country. They own a cheese tasting room where you can enjoy all the charms of their cheese, a cheese factory with the capacity to process up to 400 liters of milk per day, and the only slaughterhouse on the island of Krk.

FREYJA by JOSIP TOMAS | EMBRACE CROATIA
intro | FREYJA by JOSIP TOMAS lifestyle documentary series
Sea, Sun & Hedonism
The pearl of the Makarska Riviera, known for its natural pebble beaches, is definitely the Freyja restaurant in Tučepi. It is located within the Tamaris hotel, therefore, in the immediate vicinity of the beach, only two or three meters from the beach to be precise.
Why did we visit Freyja? For Josip Tomas, a young and talented chef with extensive experience in haute cuisine, who applies the philosophy of sustainable cooking in the best possible way. Josip is a member of the family that owns the hotel… The hotel where he runs his restaurant, which you wouldn't say on the first, second and thirty-seventh, because Josip is incredibly humble and hardworking. Josip, as a chef, is ranked among the top three chefs under the age of thirty in our region, but the sky is the limit for such a guy. In order not to praise him excessively… and his dishes are fantastic and the atmosphere in the restaurant is fantastic and the restaurant itself as a place to visit is fantastic…
Certainly one of the better restaurants on the Adriatic.

AURA MUSEUM in HUM | EMBRACE CROATIA
intro scenes |
AURA MUSEUM in HUM, the smallest city on Earth. lifestyle documentary series
Sea, Sun & Hedonism
Museum of Hum Aura and Distillery bar Aura in the smallest city in the world; in Hum. The town of Hum is located in the heart of Istria, the most famous tourist region in Croatia.
The past of Istria, its customs, crafts, traditions, life in 11 thematic units, and we couldn't wait to see and find out what is hidden in this cultural and historical treasure of Misel Sirotic's family.
Over 1,500 exhibits are on display in the museum. Each of the 11 units represents an indispensable segment of the life of the ancestors and the dominant craft shops in the last 150 years: an old pharmacy, a school, a post office, a shop, a distillery, a cobbler, a carpenter, a tailor, a mill, a fresco painting workshop and a themed room dedicated to the Glagolitic alphabet.
dailymotion
When furnishing the museum, attention was paid to every detail, and we were especially delighted by the interactive contents, which are not lacking. With the guidance of the lovely Hari Vidovic, we had the opportunity to make homemade body cream from natural ingredients in the so-called "pharmacies" or pharmacies.
We sat in the school desks, where our Katja learned to write in Glagolitic script and count with an abacus, made postcards, just like in the past.
We walked through the past, and ended the visit with a tasting of traditional brandies in the famous Distillery.
Museum of Aura is simply a perfect place that you must visit, if you find yourself in Hum!

CORAL WINE | EMBRACE CROATIA
intro scenes | CORAL WINE lifestyle documentary series
Sea, Sun & Hedonism
Ageing wines under the sea surface.
Underwater Wine Cellar….
Wines are immersed at a depth between 15–40 meters in the clear Adriatic Sea near the island of Pag, Croatia. With eight years of experience and a yearly production of about 15.000 bottles from different winemakers.
Coral Wine is also the biggest underwater ageing project in the world.
Until today, they have tested over 500 labels from 150 different winemakers from 15 different European countries.
dailymotion
Coral Wine is the first, and the coolest, undersea winery where wineries from around Europe are allowed to mature their wines beneath a blue, crystal blue Adriatic Sea.
Now, Coral Wine Project offers each and every winemaker, perhaps even wine lovers, who is not that near to the sea, the opportunity to use the potential that this underwater wine cellar has.
Today, the underwater cellar at Coral Wine contains more than one hundred different types of wines, sourced from over thirty different wineries across Europe.
After over a year under the water, bottles of Coral Wine have developed the signature unique to the sea, both on and within.
Croatia was the first country in the world to begin the cellaring of wines under water, and has the first winery under water in the world.
Coral Wine was born out of an idea from two Croatian friends, Marko and Igor, who wanted to find a solution for their country’s struggling vineyards. Croatia has been producing high-quality wines for centuries but its industry has been hit hard by global warming and other natural disasters that have caused vineyards to die off or move elsewhere.
Marko and Igor wanted to help Croatian winemakers stay afloat so they came with this idea…
The rest of the story will come soon…

EMBRACE CROATIA |
Sea, Sun & Hedonism with the story about
SILK & STONE by Blazenka Benkus
Lifestyle Documentary Series | Introduction
The sensual combination of silk, precious stones and a glass of sparkling wine offers us a different view of the world, of life.
First of all, we see the lightness of life through it, right?
The silk is fluid, the precious stone is spectacular, in addition to the quality sparkling wine that matured on sunny sides.
It is the ease of living that we all strive for. Everything we do in life is aimed at making us feel good.
Of course, this is not necessary for anyone, but it gives us the illusion that we are not only living in dreams, but that we have achieved them - Blaženka tells us, while philosophizing how everything in life somehow works out, first is thought, then emotion, emotion causes an inspiring action, and everything else will come to you and just...
B.B. Silk & Stone
The story about Blaženka, you will be able to watch on Embrace Croatia lifestyle documentary series Sea, Sun & Hedonism.
In the very center of Split, in Zadarska Street, the home-grown breed 'Silk Road' has been successfully operating and being upgraded for the fourth year, and its founder, designer Blaženka Benkus, a native of Varaždin, found her new home in the town of Pod Marjan and brought him an offer of wearable artistic works. She creates her signature art creations on the finest fabric - silk.
- I have also transferred my life purpose and idea to the business field, and it is simple: always give your best, so if in this case we carefully choose colors, apply them precisely with a brush to the finest fabric in the world, sew a dress according to your measurements with your name on the sew-on label and thus each piece is unique, then I think we have succeeded. Although it often seems to us that we are walking the line of resistance because combining fashion and art and employing a large number of people at the same time can be very challenging, we still persist because it is said that there is only one truth and you cannot get lost in it, so our visitors really recognize originality and quality, so our six products go to all corners of the world every day.
Maintenance
Hand-painted silk needs to be carefully maintained so that the colors remain persistent and intense.
Although the colors are fixed, you can maintain their durability in the following simple way. Before washing, iron the silk piece at the highest temperature on the wrong side (determine the wrong side by the hem), then wash in cold water without detergent (instead of detergent, you can use just a few drops of hair shampoo ) and iron again at the highest temperature on the wrong side (natural silk tolerates the highest temperature when ironing)
What so ever, we give a lifetime warranty on every Silk Road product.
This guarantee is implied in the responsible maintenance of the product.
Silk rock's ;)
I will tell you a little story…
Our motif that we called "1000 queens" is actually not that...
When I visit Sri Lanka in the small town of Negombo... it was the first town I visited after landing and experienced a culture shock...
Economic underdevelopment and the seeming cruelty of life is not something I was ready to face to such an extent...
But as time went on, I recognized other values that eventually delighted me...
The picture shows a deaf and mute single father. He and his boy lived in this studio where the father painted and dreamed of earning enough to send his son to study in America...
Most of the pictures showed his image, the image of a barefoot boy...
I bought as many pictures as I could take...
When I returned home to Split, I continued painting his image.
I still paint it today... As a memory of their good spirit, modesty, simplicity, gentleness and warmth, a memory of a country where there is little and much is given. We added a crown to him because I wanted to believe that they succeeded and that he was living the life of a king.
I never found out if the boy went to study in America.
I hope he did... #justlove
