I like how I say something about how I (as a Christian) am offended by someone ripping a bible, and I'm automatically basically labeled as close minded and ignorant. um..sorry that I believe in something different than you do. you wouldn't like me coming at you about something that you believed, so why would you do the same thing? if someone rips up a bible, I don't believe that it necessarily says anything about the person you are, it's THE ACT ITSELF THAT I HATE. NOT the person. I can't stop someone for ripping a bible or whatever, but I will NOT act like THAT is okay with me. no. as I said in my previous post, I love ALL people. yes, I love God first and foremost, but if you let that negatively effect your opinion of me as a person, then you are no better than the close-minded Christian that you THINK I, and tons of other people are.

Ripping up a bible has been a part of Sharon's act for ages now. It's not something recent. Her message behind the act is actually really beautiful - it's that you shouldn't live your life for a fairy tale. She says "I believe in myself, and I have faith in you." That's a mindset that can really change the world and motivate someone, instead of having them hand their lives and behaviors over to some undetermined ~higher power.~ You shouldn't generalize all atheists/agnostics as "spooky freaks."
okay I never have seen her act while she does this, but just the thought of it is something that disturbs me, as a Christian. and I did not once say that all atheists are spooky freaks...I don't know why you would say that. I never even said anything about atheists at all. my best friend is an atheist. I said that that is how she classifies HERSELF, and it's hard for me to see that she accepts anyone unlike her

so I heard about sharon needles ripping a bible..I love her and I think she's a great artist but that is just not okay with me on any level. I knew that she was unconventional (part of the reason I took to her well), but I never thought she would do something to this extent. the bottom line is, I respect and love ALL people, but first and foremost I love and live my life for Jesus, and I cherish the Word of God way I feel as if she expresses that only a certain type of people can truly be her fans.. only the "spooky freaks" that she claims herself to be. not that it makes any difference to her, but it will probably take awhile before I take an interest to her again. I still think she's very talented, though

one thing that i hate:
people think that it's so awesome to be blunt all the time. not just honest, but blunt. meaning that they have no filter in their brain whatsoever, in any situation, and they are proud of it. i know especially one person like this, and this person thinks that they are so hilarious, and that everyone loves them...no. when you insist on saying everything that pops in your brain all the time, in the long run you'll just end up hurting everyone and putting them away. being honest is totally different. it requires integrity, humility, and sometimes empathy. if you're only blunt, instead of honest, then i don 't see you as a very strong person.
