hello hello everyone !! this blog is still on hiatus for the foreseeable future but i'd be extremely remiss if i didn't at least pop over here in honor of my 10th (!!! yes really !! 10th!! ) anniversary of making Esme's blog. we've had our highs and lows –– lows including deleting and remaking, so this account isn't technically at a decade yet –– but I'm so glad I made the impulse decision to make a silly little rp blog for a pirate book like twelve people in the world had ever heard of, way back when i was in the big unknown of middle school. the world was a different place back in 2013 and I was a different person then: I've all but grown up here, with you all, with Esmeralda and her retinue of pirate haters and admirers. the rpc has caused me to grow so much as a writer, as an artist, even as a scholar, and has introduced me to so many wonderful people that my life would not be the same without. I've had other muses off and on over the last decade, but none have been half so constant in my life as Esmeralda Maria Consuela Anna de Sevilla, and certainly none have had quite the impact she has had. thank you Ann Crispin for your girlboss oc, Ted & Terry for your silly movie based on a theme park ride, Walt & Marc & Yale & Alice & X et all for your wax walkthrough turned boat ride (and Michael Curtiz, and Stevenson, and Captain Johnson, if we really want to go back to the beginning). and thanks most of all to you guys for ten years of community and creativity together. <3 one little email and my life has never been the same.
