Eren true plan (Fez boy and Mikasa)
I’m going to say this, Eren real plan is something other than the rumbling. This theory will be based solely from eremika POV. I believe Eren took up the mantle of the devil to unite humanity against him.

SNK FUTURE PREDICTION (EMA)
What was it that made them friends?
There is one thing I picked from Uri and Kenny dialogue. Both violence/strength and humility/dialogue is necessary for co-existence. The underlying truth is that if Uri wasn’t ready to use violence or lacks strength, he would have been long dead. At the same time, if he hadn’t bowed down to Kenny after that, he wouldn’t have been attached to him and followed him. The story is all about leaving the forest and breaking the cycle of hatred.
How does this boil down to our main Shingashina trio? Let’s take a look below
What I see above is
A character wielding a gun and shooting it at the end of the conversation
A character wielding a gun but not shooting
A character with no gun at all and sitting
Throughout the 106 conversation, Eren and Armin views were clashing. Eren was more urgent to use violence to achieve his goal and Armin seems not to entertain the thought of violence by clearly opposing Yelena plan. Only Armin can’t bring peace neither can only Eren do because they are too focused on dialogue and violence respectively. But there is a character who wields a gun and is eagerly sitting with Armin. Mikasa was the one to question Armin why he wasn’t okay with Yelena plan and she was the one to remind Eren that they managed to get along with some Marleyans. I think Mikasa will be the one to bridge that gap between them in future chapters. Mikasa will be able to sympathize with Armin’s view and at the same time, she can understand Eren. (Understanding doesn’t mean agreement).
The Uri and Kenny event is quite similar to the night Eren and Mikasa met. Was it Eren word to “fight” that saved Mikasa or was it the kind hearted scarf wrapping?
Actually, both saved Mikasa. Even though much emphasis is placed on the scarf wrapping. Eren’s words activated Mikasa’s acker strength that helped her survive in the cruel world they are living in and the scarf wrapping saved her from the nihilistic worldview she is falling into.
It’s a great theme in the manga that in order to achieve something great, one must be ready to abandon his humanity/ throw away what dearest to them. Eren and Erwin seems to be alike in this aspect since they both have been referred to as “devils” .
Everyone sees Eren as something other than human. Someone as a larger than life personality
Historia: As someone strong, someone who always knew what to do, enemy of humanity
Jean: As someone strong, someone cool
Yelena: As someone special
Levi: A monster
He is viewed as strong, crazy, abnormal, a monster, someone to envy and someone to admire. As someone special. Everyone expects many things from him, the same way people expected many things from Erwin. Everyone has there version of Eren and while it is not entirely wrong, it is not all there is to him.
From the moment Eren saw his future memories, his connections/bonds started to weaken. He depended so long on his bonds with his friends to keep himself from becoming a monster ( reference chapter 123 night talk with Mikasa). He even has the ability to provide comfort to people with such issues. He calls Historia “just a normal girl”. He says to Ymir “ You not a God. You are not a slave either. You are just a human being.” Yet nobody says those words to Eren. The only time someone did call him a “human”, the person was almost killed by the unconscious/titan part of Eren.
When Eren loses control and tries to kill Mikasa, in a sense, the Titan Eren (the devil, current enemy of humanity) tries to kill the human side of Eren.
Besides reminding him that he is human, there are other instances to showcase her presence as a symbol of Eren’s humanity.
Eren wants to protect the people of Paradise and the one’s he cares about. But his method to carry that out requires him abandoning his humanity/throwing away what he holds dearest. Connie says that Mikasa and Armin are the two people he cares the most about. Grisha’s and Kruger’s words confirm that. That’s why he needs to end his relationship with them. His only way to do that is to kill his relationship with Mikasa ( and Armin to an extent. but he spends like 1 page with him, while he spends 5–6 with Mikasa and the story focuses more on her part anyway).

What is Eren’s goal? FREEDOM!!. Be it his personal freedom or the freedom of others, he fights for it like a mad man. But what Eren hasn’t realized just like Erwin is that his freedom and the happiness of his friends are incompatible. Let’s see what Armin has to say about Eren’s freedom:
Sasha died, Jean and Connie lost a great friend, Historia had to get pregnant, Armin’s dream got crushed and Mikasa is heartbroken.
Coming to Erwin, Somewhere down the line, he managed to convince himself that fighting for humanity would eventually lead him to the truth he so much desired. That these two goals went hand in hand. Yet they didn’t. He had to leave one behind
That brings me to the roles of the Ackerman and their liege. Levi and Erwin had a strong bond just like Mikasa and Eren but the roles the Ackerman played in their liege lives are somewhat different. Levi was following Erwin’s orders. His role was not protecting him. It wasn’t saving him. Mikasa role is different. Mikasa role was never about following Eren’s orders. Ironically, she made this known in the earlier part of the manga
Her fight is saving Eren, not following his orders or protecting him.
Let’s be honest, Mikasa sucks at protecting Eren. As a matter of fact, Eren has protected her more times than she did. You can reread the mange and see for yourself. Mikasa has always failed to save Eren in the past because she was busy fighting the wrong enemy. Reiner, Bert, Annie aren’t the true enemies of Eren. Even the world isn’t the enemy of Eren. Eren’s true enemy is himself. In order for Eren to be saved, he needs to be defeated. By this, I don’t mean physical defeat but something harder and deeper. As Levi said, physical defeat can make Eren succumb. He needs something more severe than just physical defeat.
We know Isayama loves his role reversals. Levi followed Erwin’s orders but at the end, he gave the order. Mikasa was saved by Eren, yet she will take the role of the savior in the finale. Honestly, this is something that could have happened earlier in chapter 123 but destiny intervened. Mikasa confessing at that moment is something that shouldn’t happen because it would have changed predestined story line that was established when Eren saw his future memory. That is why destiny had to intervene in the form of Mikasa’s lack of confidence, a small man, Jean, Conny, Sasha and Armin.
Eren’s arc has been about abandoning his humanity and continue moving forward vs just staying human like his mum wanted for him. Even if Eren wanted the latter, his destiny seemed to always push him to the former. This was made explicit by Armin’s comment
Armin’s words in chapter 45
“Whether it’s of his own will or not..He always does it. I guess that’s just his destiny..”
Funny enough, this was followed by Mikasa’s wish to be by his side. Two things that are not mutually compatible. This raises the question of what happened in chapter 123. In a way, Eren was reaching out for Mikasa to save him from his destiny. Which in turn would have fulfilled Mikasa’s wish in chapter 45. There is a common misconception that Mikasa’s confession would have further solidified Eren’s resolve to embrace his destiny because his desire to protect Mikasa will only increase. While on the surface this makes sense but underneath, it doesn’t. Eren’s connection with Mikasa is different from any other relationship he has in the story. “Mikasa is to Eren, what Carla and Eren, was to Grisha. A reason to stay human. A reason to believe that his dark future can be avoided. Something he had been trying without success for the past four years. It is a different type of love. The type that changes your priorities; that keeps your inner monsters at bay.”
Attack on Titan doesn’t put that much emphasis on love and romance, unlike other shonen, but they are still present. Very much so in the final arc of the series. This is because love changes the way people act and think. For example, in the lost girls, the reason Grisha took Eren to visit Mikasa in the woods is because he sensed a force of destruction within him and hoped Mikasa’s friendship will save him.
Secondly, Grisha. We know since chapter 120 that Grisha could have killed the Reiss family years before he did. But he chose not to. The reason? Love. Grisha leaves and then we see him greeting Carla and hugging Eren. His family kept him from going down that route.
Grisha fight cost him his previous family and friends and he still couldn’t achieve it.
Thirdly, what did Ymir desire the most? Love.
Fourthly, a great example is Niccolo and Sasha. Even though we didn’t see their interaction onscreen, the impact was shown through Niccolo. Niccolo said he was a lost man but Sasha saved him.
Finally, we have Gabi and Falco. A duo who admittedly parallel Eren and Mikasa in all forms. Gabi’s goal when we first met her in the manga was the extermination of all Eldia. However, meeting with the Paradisians and Falco confession changed her. Well, Eren interacted with the Marleyans just like Gabi interacted with the Paradisians. Both of them realizes that the people they thought as enemies are human but Eren still decides to kill them all. Something was missing. Now, Gabi don’t want to fight.
Now there is a cycle going on here. Eren was the one who motivated Falco not to give up on saving Gabi from inheriting the titan. Now, Gabi who was present at the EMA showdown in 112 is the one pleading with Armin and Mikasa to talk to Eren instead of staying passive. Mikasa and Armin have already removed their gears, Jean is chilling on top the building, Connie has gone AWOL. It seems pretty clear they have given up on stopping Eren. Gabi saying that she can’t give up on Falco is there to eventually show Mikasa (and Armin to a certain degree) what she needs to do. Even if AM don’t do anything, the rumbling will still benefit them but by stopping Eren, they prevent him from sacrificing his humanity and dooming himself forever.
Lastly imo, the popular Kruger word.”Love someone”. Love out of all things was sampled out as the only way to break the cycle of hatred
Annie is already out of the crystal and I bet she will have an influence on Armin’s next action for sure. Isayama isn’t hiding his style of writing in the final arc. He is concluding all character arc as soon as possible.
Out of all the people in the story, the only one capable of actually stopping Eren is Mikasa. Thematically, narratively, character development, plot, relationship-wise, everything points to that. There are many evidence to support this but one crucial is how Isayama portrays lack of different options from multiple POV.
Hange said they were not able to find another solution
Armin says that back in 851 they might have been able to change something but he doesn’t offer an alternative, a course of action that might have changed the events that transpired.
Jean doesn’t think that there was a different option
Mikasa thinks that things may or may not have been decided from the beginning. Yet she says that maybe, if she had given a different answer to Eren in chapter 123, things might have gone down in a different manner. “ That is not a coincidence by Isayama. It happens on purpose. Mikasa wanted things to be different and she is the only character who knew how this could have been done. And it would have”
Secondly, Mikasa’s bloodline is able to resist the control of the founder.
It is important to note that Eren’s POV is being hidden from the readers in order to increase the mystery behind his actions. “How would a defeat of Eren by Mikasa be even more emotional? By revealing Eren’s feelings right before the fight ends. Sounds like something Isayama would do”.
The above was just a way of stopping. After Eren is stopped, I think the next step is for Armin to step up with his diplomacy. Eren has already played his part by showcasing the strength of the rumbling. It will be Armin’s turn to showcase the desire of the Eldia to co-exist alongside others.

I know you’ve talked about this topic before, but I would like to know your opinion on the whole Father of Historia’s child debate going on in the sink fandom. This is because the fandom’s certain that Eren is the father even though the story’s not framing the father as important and I doubt Isayama would tell us this late into the story. Make it as detail as possible.
Why make it so detailed when I can express the crux of my feelings on this topic through Levi with one simple, low-quality edit? ╮(︶▽︶)╭

Ok, more serious response is under the cut. Warning for heaping spoonfuls of salt.

Eremika
I know the author finds the two of them getting involved a real cliche. (What he said was that he hated cliche romances, so we can assume that M and E won't be a cliche. Their relationship will be more interesting, ch 112 may be a proof for this.)
But it doesn't necessarily mean that a cliche always has to be knocked down and put away. To me, trying to write something which covers no romance among young adults (so that the genre can be kept as a pure seinen) is too forced and unrealistic.
Think of two young people like Eren and Mikasa in real life… Oh no they can't have interest in one another because it is a cliche. Doesn't that sound weird?
In real life, it is not people's main goal to avoid all cliches. I know this is a manga, not real life but the social rules an author can write is limited. Yes, he can create a wonderful fantastic universe and set lots of rules. But he can not oversmart social norms which have existed for thousands of years.
I must admit I didn't use to like the idea of E and M. But I feel that Eren doesn't want to be seperated from Mikasa. Strangely, the chapter 112 reshaped my opinion (whether he hates her or it is a lie) A nineteen year old Eren sees Mikasa as a woman.
He is not a childish Eren who always needs her protection. Instead, he is now a young man who aims to protect the most important woman in his life. Yes, no matter what recently has happened, Mikasa is the most important woman in his life.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it but one should still check out the chapter 120, into Eren's memories: there is an image of a cute Mikasa, looking at him. It's like a postcard, her hair floats in the air. That image DOESN'T look like that of a comrade's, warrior's or a sister's. She must be the "love interest" of the person who holds this memory.
(This is such a BIG contrast to the image of Annie who appears to do martial arts in Eren's brain.)
In the first three seasons I considered them sibling-like. All their interactions took place between the age of 9- 15. Boys are immature. But in the 4th season (after chapter 100) what I see are a young man and woman who are meant for each other. The shifting process of the relationship of two people who have known each other since they were 9 is NOT a smooth process.
And no, I can not imagine 19 year old Eren and Mikasa as two siblings.
Between chapters 100 and 108 (in the flashbacks as well) Maybe my imagination but Eren looks at her with more desire, interested in Mikasa and Historia's small talk, often keeps a close proximity to her when she sits or stands (there are several panels.)
To cut it off, my intuition tells me that Eren can never ever let her go.

I used to look down on Mikasa Eren shippers, as I found the ship so cliche and sister brotherly. But strangely, it was this infamous chapter, 112 which made me rethink about their relationship. This chapter has showed that their supposedly sibling-like (?) relationship is more complicated than it seems.
The emotional density of Eren's speech in 112 made me doubt about him seeing Mikasa as a sister. Whether the feelings are positive or negative- I believe a person can not hold those strong feelings towards someone in his sister's position. During the talk, Eren seemed to experience too much tension to be platonic. This way of talk can be adressed to an ex- girlfriend when you know she has feelings for you but somehow she hurt you and you want her to be hurt as well. Because you know that she loves you and she will be hurt.
If Eren really thought that their relationship was only the Ackerbond, he wouldn't tell all these to break her heart. And Mikasa wouldn't be deeply hurt. He well knows that what Mikasa feels for him is more than a robotic tie and she is a young lady who has feelings for him. Eren sure knows this.
Especially one part of 112 drew my attention:
Mikasa: It was all because of you Eren. You saved my life and put this scarf around me-
Eren: I TOLD you to put your hands on the table!!
I think her sentence about the SCARF hit the very soft spot of Eren, her talk was getting too intense for him to handle the situation, he was scared of showing emotion and changed the talk about their memories by cutting her off harshly. I think the harshness of his reaction to Mikasa's sentence gives him away. (Please read ch 121, Eren's fragility while he's watching the scarf memory.)
His hate confrontation was quite passionate. To me, Eren had never looked like some rude opposite gender as he did in chapter 112. I thought I was not reading a seinen, it looked like a scene from a different genre of manga.
It's possible that after Mikasa's almost kiss&confession, Eren's puberty started (LOL) and it could be the very first moment he saw her in a newlight. But later on he was shocked and disappointed because of the Ackerman past. So, his intention was to break her heart as a revenge. (Some say he was just acting in order to break the Ackerman curse but nobody can act that well and Eren was overwhelmed with emotion, he was glaring!) Still, deep inside, he's aware that Mikasa loves him. There's no way Eren forgot what happened between him and Mikasa in ch 50, Dina Fritz scene.
During his absence, though his mind was busy, Eren still must have contemplated on Mikasa and the nature of his relationship with Mikasa.
We don't know if he will show his real motive and apologize, or he is just telling the truth. We know nothing yet. But the moment itself appeared to me that Eren has (or one time had) feelings for Mikasa. The dialogue didn't seem to me like two siblings' bickering. This chapter is the turning point (though it consists of insult and supposedly negative feelings) where I perceived Eren a male and Mikasa as female. (I know this may sound weird.)
They grew up together as play friends (age 9–10) and after the Colossus they bonded for 6 years. Although they had been bickering and bitter sweet there hadn't occured any big change in their relationship for many years. Except ch 50, It had been stable. (Their fans were frustrated because not much happened in 3 seasons yet, they were too young: 9–15 years old, two orphans, especially Eren with PTSD - too immature to feel that way) So I claim that there had to be a huge earthquake moment between them. (Sadly, not leading to a positive way, instead, to a seemingly negative direction for their shippers)
We can be sure that chapter 112 won't be their final interaction. Even if Eren's harshness may continue for a while, they need to face with each other more openly, before Eren dies. (Hopefully he doesn't)
Nobody who can feel wants such a terrible goodbye to the girl he cared.
If this notorious moment is explained and solved in a good way, I have a hunch that their relationship won't be the same. In other words, their bond may deepen into another aspect. Only something reversely positive and heavier can change this, that red scarf has to be rewrapped around her neck by the same person, if you know what I mean. But I'm really curious how Eren will react to the absence of the scarf when they come face to face, if they ever make up.
The- hate you - moment may lead to a change of their long time undefined relationship. They seem to have entered into a different path. In season 4 (and in the flashbacks where Mikasa learns she is royal and when in railway Eren is talking about whom to hand over his power) Eren really behaves like a young man and acts emotional about or around Mikasa. Especially the railway flashback: They stare at each other and blush! There is no need to mention what kind of emotions do cause blushing…
When season 4 is animated, adult Mikasa and Eren's chemistry will be even more distinguishable.
I like the chapter 107, when Historia laughs at Mikasa: Why did you show your wristband only to Eren? And Eren is almost sneering : So what? Eren must have felt that Historia is the embodiment of the audience shipping them. She may have looked like a giggling high school girl. He and Mikasa have given a big piece of gossip to her. Eren's amused expression continues even in the next panel.
Some people shipping Historia and Eren may think Eren is annoyed at Historia for pairing him with Mikasa. But I perceived it a funny moment where Eren was amused at the fact that because of a girly instinct, Historia knew there was something going on between him and Mikasa.
With the commotion in 112, the author has also created some material and reached to a path to make a drastic change in the relationship. I know he hates cliche romances, but with 112, their relationship is now far from being cliche. It has become rather complicated.
I'm almost glad to read 112. Though it was harsh, Eren and Mikasa had their moment. He is sure to have gained emotional depth. To feel something (love or hate) requires emotional depth. Between the ages of 9 - 15, Eren was neutral to all the girls in the series but only Mikasa, a caring, sibling-like figure, was different.
However, she is still different from other girls in his perspective: this time being the figure he supposedly hates, the figure whose heart he intentionally breaks. Gosh, these are very strong vibes, hinting to a reverse position in which his love could be very strong just the same.
In the 4th season when they are drawn side to side, one can feel the chemistry. Mikasa and Eren do not resemble to siblings anymore.
Their shippers must be devastated after 112. I, who despised the ship must admit that I'm now on the verge of shipping. I believe that we will be seeing the red scarf one more time. Its role hasn't finished yet.
Besides, I can't imagine a situation in which Mikasa is in love with another guy and Eren is OK with this. He can not handle being the second important man in her life.
From the interviews, I get that the author respects Mikasa so much that he does not feel like setting her as the hero's girl. And this is one of the reasons he opened the way for her independence. But being independent doesn't necessarily mean abandoning your beloved ones.
Besides, If Mikasa was his love interest in the beginning, her character would be ruined. But the manga is coming to an end. So, if something gets real, it won't ruin Mikasa. Her character depth and her charisma have already been confirmed in many chapters.
They love each other very much. She is clearly shown to have romantic feelings for him. They are not siblings. So I believe, one day Eren will be more open to her and assuming he survives, they will be together.
From now on, we will have an independent young woman and a young man. He had already announced his independency, then she threw away her collar as a sign of her independency. Hopefully, we won't be seeing Mikasa protecting and sticking to him like a mother or an older sister.
I don't want to sound too optimistic. The title question is: does Eren have feelings for Mikasa? And my answer is yes, he does.
Unfortunately, they probably won't kiss or confess, contrary to how the shippers expect. I think it will only be implied to the reader that their feelings are more than platonic and it's all. This could be the best scenario. Still, one can not blame the shippers. It was the same author who created the characters, their bond and wrote their beautiful moments.
As a conclusion; the look on his face, especially his narrowed eyes in ch 121 show whatever Eren feels for Mikasa is rather strong.
Although the chapter showed his eyes generally large with wildness, in this image he is stuck between a sad smile and a cry.
Yes, he is overwhelmed with emotion, again. Whether he says he hates her or sees himself wrapping the scarf around her, he is overwhelmed. When our subject is Mikasa, he is just too overwhelmed with strong feelings.

Everybody says Eren went through so much character development and became very mature in the 4th season. Just the same, this Eren can feel deep love towards a young woman who has always been there when he needed. And her name probably starts with M.
