listening to wtnv in 2024 makes me understand immediately why tumblr over a decade ago thought this shit was the coolest thing ever. it casually but flawlessly parodies the us surveillance state, ultra-militarized police forces, inane human resource bureaucracies and the blasé of the suburban middle class all within the span of three episodes with a very tongue in cheek slice of life format that doesn’t sound possible on paper but is executed absolutely absurdly well

I wanted to practice drawing some dialogue from my play through with my pretty boy durge Ambrose, and I just ended up drawing Durgestarion… again.
I’m a softy for two wretched, seemingly irredeemable beings learning how to be gentle with each other and their found family… while still being fucking unhinged and bitchy. It’s a classic.

Karlach: I hate Gortash. He's the worst person alive, and he's gonna be passing that title on to the second worst person alive soon. He doesn't even realize just how dead he's gonna be.
Dark Urge (whispering to Astarion): i'm like 98% sure I fucked that guy. don't tell her.

it frustrates me to see people saying modern Gale would be an AI bro. Modern Gale would hate AI because there is no soul in it, no creativity; it is attempting to 'solve' art with math and he would find that stifling and depressing.
GORTASH IS THE AI BRO stop robbing him of his title. He would be blackmailing people with ai-cloned voices and likenesses, living his best life.

I love the characterization of Lae'zel as a deliberate, reasonable person who through no fault of her own is wrong about almost everything

The thing about Wyll is that he Gets It. He knows the story. He knows the kind of man his father is and the kind of man he was supposed to be. He knew what Mizora was when he made the pact. He knew what it meant. And he was just a kid, and his city needed saving, so he did it, and he paid that price, and even knowing all of that he still tried to appeal to his father for understanding and forgiveness.
He sold his soul to do the right thing. And he was cast out. And he knew what character that should have made him.
He knows the story he's in, and every day he chooses who he wants to be instead.
