May 22 the last day of our study abroad trip to Italy has arrived. It stated out as a hectic day as usual, running late to the train. We sprinted over there. To get ready on our first long flight of 8:30 hours. It actually went by really fast because I was around friends and it made it exciting. The food provided was really good for airplane food. Then we arrived on the Canada airport and went through TSA which they stole my water bottle. Then me and my friends waited on the 3 hour lay over that went by extremely fast. We made jokes and walked around making the time go by fast. Then we got to the second airplane and the turbulence was not it. Then the sassy part of our trip came when we all had to say goodbye. It was a sad moment and internally I knew not to be sad because we are all going to hang out again and see each other again. It was the best two weeks of my life so far!

On our second to last day on May 21, we went exploring Rome again. First we went to the Trevi gardens to see some nature, where we got to see 2 cats as well. After the gardens we went to the pipe water work of Rome and we got to see how the water is transported. We got recommended to do this by our leader Francesco. On this day we also went to an area called Largo Chigi. This day was the highlight of my trip because it was so full of Activitys and chaotic that it was fun. Our group had to separate because we had so many things to do before we left Rome and we were running late to the dinner. Because of this, me and my friend Sarah rented Lime and went around the streets racing a round with a basket of laundry in our hands. Then we got dressed and had our last meal with the whole group. It was a special night because it was our last meal all together in Italy and as a group. We thanked our tour guide with a record as a gift, and the teachers thanked us but giving us a can of tuna. It was a beautiful night with good food.

On May 20, our adventure in Rome started out as a free day. We had the liberty of doing whatever we wanted, and me and my group sure know how to have fun. We started the day out by doing laundry and had an orange and chocolate for breakfast. That day I tried the best orange I’ve ever had and it being my breakfast made it even better. We went to the Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere. It was a beautiful church and they had a church service going on. We also took a bus to the place and walked a lot in the streets. We also meet a man with a dog that he found in a river. It was so cutes. Then at night we had an amazing dinner and had a serious conversation. We actually started debating about what happens on May 16 when 4 people of our group were victims of a robbery. We had a grown discussion and shared our different perspectives on it.

Today May 19, I went to one of my favorite churches all trip. It is located in Venice and it was my favorite because of the amount of luxury that church had. It was covered in gold and diamond and stones from the roof to the walls. It was an Orthodox Church with amazing figures and there was even the tomb of Saint Mark in the church. I also loved the amounts of decoration it had from the marble stones, which made the columns and wall. It is located in Saint Marks square where there is also a beautiful clock tower with the zodiac signs displayed. The street life is also lively and a restaurant that caught my attention was one where there was a band in the front, playing music. I have seen that band on tik tok in that same restaurant. We then went to the Chiesa di San Giorgio Maggiore, which is located in its own island, where we had to take a water taxi to get to it. It was just as beautiful, and I noticed there was a modern piece of art in the center of it.

On todays day of May 17, I was in Florence Italy. This day was a bitter sweet day because I experienced some amazing art and site viewing but the end of the day we were victims of a robbery. The crew and I went to the Uffizi gallery first and we saw one of the most iconic art piece and my favorite as well. It was the baptism of Christ and for what it represents. The baptism of Christ was a beautiful painting where it seems to be in a river with a man pouring water on him. Another favorite painting on mine was the lady in the couch staring at you in a sexual manner trying to draw the observer in.

May 13 could have actually been one of my favorite so far. I loved the feeling of if I was in a mansions backyard because the garden had so many sights and activities to do in the outdoors. The Borghese Gallery is where the rape of Daphne’s is and the detailing on it is amazing. I like how the indents are very realistic and the story behind it. I also saw in the gallery another David where there is so much movement in the sculpture. He is seemed with a sling shot in his hand and hitting his lip looking really focused on what he’s about to sim at. I also saw a painting of a lady Brest feeing a snake which I found interesting. My group and I after the gallery went on a ride on a 4 person bike and had so much fun. We went rolling down a big hill and biked to a void to see an amazing view. Then we went walking around the city and I took some pictures of the fashion I saw around the city night. The. At night we went to go eat at a restaurant with the whole group and it was amazing.

Dear Blog of May 12, this is my 3rd day in Rome Italy. I stared out the day by taking public transportation in the train from my hotel to the Trevi fountain. My guide Francesco first showed us on the way a building that was shot up by the nazis and I found that to be very interesting that the built holes were still there. After seeing and knowing that fun fact of 400 people dying, by the military’s own mistake, it made me realize how there’s history all around me and not just the big monuments. Then we went to actually see the Trevi fountain and it did not disappoint. It was big and the statutes were really detailed. Then I went to Sant’Ignazio of Loyola Church where I saw another beautiful church were I discovered that the celling was an illusion because they ran out of money to build one. I think that’s more impressive than an actual todo because it looked realistic. Then we headed to Pizza Della rotonda where light only comes from a whole in the roof and there is a specific day of the year where the sun is perfect in the middle.

On May 11 our second day of being in Rome I started out the day with a classical breakfast and started my day out to the Roman Forum. Then we went to the explore the ancient city center, which had antique temples, arched and the basilicas from the Roman Kingdom. We also went to the Byzantine Empire. I had my first taste of what Italian streets look like and the authentic food and people. Then at night we went to eat some tasty dinner and ended up with some gelato.

I’m the first day of me arriving to Rome was amazing. It was all I expected and more. The first day I had a panini of ham and cheese and it was pretty salty but I enjoyed it. I got an authentic panini from an authentic Italian and I got a glimpse of how I’m going to be spending the rest of my days here. Today I went Bernini ecstasy the Trevi fountain and the beautiful Spanish steps. I learned that the Trevi fountain is bigger than it seemed in pictures and that all waters in Rome Italy are drinkable. I love that, because I love water. I also went to my first Roman church and the learned that there is differ t type of style for churches. One is chorus and the other one is Catholic.

I am eager to see many works of arts. There are works of art like the Trevi fountain, Mosè and the Sistine chapel ceiling. In reality Rome or Italy in general many things are considered art. There is art everywhere from churches to doors, to the houses themselves. The ones I am most eager to see tho is definitely the famous Trevi fountain, where you can make wishes and look at the amazing fountain. I am also excited to see Moses on the Church of San Pietro on Vincoli in Rome, for its historical background and because it was made by one of the most known artist in the 15 hundreds Michelangelo. The biggest and most beautiful piece of art has to be the ceiling in the Sistine chapel tho. I find it impressive that it was man made in a time where little to no technology was present and with such talent. The work of art I will be wrong about tho is also a fountain and it’s called the “Fountain of the Four Rivers”, and it is Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy. I chose this one, because i like fountains and I was also captured by its complex structure.

There is only 27 days till my trip to Italy. I will be seeing so many famous painting, monuments, and sculptures that are extremely known. The paintings, I am most eager to see is what The Last Supper, The David, the Chapels, and the Colosseum. The Last supper is a historical painting, and it’s the most religious painting most known and used. The David because, the detailing is unbelievable, and the Chapels with their colorful frescos. I am eager to see them and the colosseum, beaches they are one of the wonders of the world and history is stored in them. The David was made by one of the greats artist Michelangelo and there are around 30 replicas around Italy. The most popular one is in Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence. Also the pacing of the last supper is in Milano, and it was painted by Leonardo da Vinci. I will most likely see the Colosseum first which is in Rome and we will go to Rome firstly. I am also excited to see Venice itself and the gondolas. I am excited to also take pictures of these monuments for memories. The Fountain of the Four Rivers, is also a monument that I am looking forward to.

The number one thing I am most excited about is to go look at the beautiful landscapes and monuments. I am excited to see the famous fountain and mostly eat gelato and ride the gondolas. I want to experience a real Italian life style in Venice, Rome, and Florence. I am mostly excited to go into an unknown place, due that Italy has always been my dream travel destination, and I always knew I will once go. I am also excited about the trip itself, I enjoying seeing other airports and flying on planes, I find them relaxing. Another thing I am excited about is how much fun the adventures to the curves and the coliseum will be. I also want to take as many pictures as possible, I might do this by buying a selfie stick to not bother as much my friends. I also am exited to see Italy’s night life and how everyone plays out. I also look forward to having an espresso every morning, every day. I am going to eat less here to eat all I want over there 👍. I am excited in general and look forward to having an amazing experience with my group.

Helloo, I have been asked am I nervous about anything concerning my trip to Italy. My answer to this would be no. If I were afraid I would not go. But even if I were afraid I usually just face the difficult situation of whatever it is and move on. I don’t believe there is nothing to be afraid of, and if anything it’s just as scary as living here in the United States of America. This is because this world is big and I believe that even thing here in the U.S. are scary as in Italy. I believe we just have to face it and deal with it. Something that id causing me anxiety is my wardrobe planing and how I’m going to have enough baggage or money to bring lots of souvenirs and food back from Italy. I am trying to overcome this anxiety by capsuling outfits one by one, in clothes capsules to not be worried m. Also I am overcoming it financially wise by working harder the weeks before I go to save up. Also by having a list of things I want and place I want to visit over there. I think a discomfort I might encounter is health wise. I do not want to get sick, and I don’t enjoy sleeping in sheets and bed that is not mine. This is why I am bringing pillow cases, and bed covers of my own. But rather than that I am excite for this trip.

I believe that there are many things I can take out of this experience and learn. I will be traveling to one of the most popular county’s with the best food and most beautiful art. I want to make the best out of this experience by having friends and taking pictures. And I want to make the most memorize by learning of the culture and language before hand, which I am doing. I want to bring many souvenirs but also live in the moment to always remember this trip. Currently I am planning how my days will look like and the clothes I will be picking out. I also believe that having comfortable shoes is going to be crucial and I am looking for comfortable, affordable shoes. I also am preparing my luggage and extra things I will need like a laundry cloth and outlets for Italy’s different outlets. I believe that to have the best experience possible I have to develop a positive and energetic mindset. I believe it’s important to make the most out of this experience but I know it might be exhausting. I will try and adapt to my environment which I am good at. I am looking forward to also communicate with locals in my study aboard experience.
