Shane just might be more stressed out than she was at the moment. It probably should be the other way around or at least she should share the same level of worry as he. Hell, she was worried.  Emily just knew that, were she to lose it, that would be it. She might not be able to compose herself and this was not the time or the place to do so. Their situation had to be kept on the down low. It was a blessing that she wasn't going to be showing for a while but they needed to be able to get out of here as soon as possible. If not there would be consequences. Lethal ones.
Emily nodded, knowing she had to be thinking about the baby. It wouldn't be a sea monkey for very long and she would have to use her tough as nails attitude to keep herself going strong. Not only for herself and the baby but to keep Shane's mind at ease.
"You got it, Ace." she said in a quiet, slightly raspy voice. She walked up closer to him and pulled him back in for a tight hug.
"You had better just promise me that you'll keep yourself out of trouble here. If we're gonna get out alive then we need to be as discreet about finding a way as possible. William is basically another Governor, Shane, and I don't want to see you killed."

Prisoners- Lori and Emily
Emily wasn't able to sleep most of the night. She couldn't stop her mind from racing around in a whirl of thoughts. It was now early morning and the sun had just barely risen. There was a slight chill in the air complimented by a cool mist. Lori had been awake early with Judith and so Em had decided to ask her to take a walk with her.
Emily had been surprised that Carol, Lori, and Daryl had found their way to this nightmare of a place. Having Lori and Judith here was making Shane uneasy as well. The poor man had finally been able to sleep which is why Em didn't bother to wake him up. He needed the rest. Em was glad to have Lori's company but it was very unsettling to have her here and in danger. They walked along the perimeter of the school as Emily tried to distract herself from her nausea by conversing.
"So Lor, if you don't mind me askin' how'd ya get Judith in here?" she asked in a quiet voice,"I mean the tyrant is pretty clear on the rules." Whatever the reason was she was grateful that Judith would be fine.

Excuse me, if I go straight this way, will I be able to reach your heart?
"Well you'll probably find a 'No Trespassing' sign since it belongs to Shane. I warn ya he won't take too kindly to someone tryin' to use cheesy pick up lines on me but I guess I appreciate your effort."

Emily could have sworn that she had heard that classic scratch on the record player sound. The one you heard in shows when something was said that was completely unexpected. One minute they were both talking about what a mess this was and the next second Shane had put on his big boy pants and stepped up. He had just told her that he loved her for the first time. Now Emily had known that he loved her it was obvious but she had never heard him verbalize it. Her expression softened as he he spoke after that, letting the words sink in as a small smile pulled at the corner of her lips. She nodded in response to his question, walking up to him so they could speak closer and less conspicuously. They may have been alone in the room but Emily couldn't shake the feeling that there were eyes and ears everywhere in this place.
"Of course I do." she began,"I just hate to put you through this." she admitted,"You didn't ask for it. I didn't ask for it but...but it is what it is." she said, coming to the mental conclusion that getting rid of it just wasn't an option and they couldn't be wishing to take it back at this point,"...and I love you too, Shane." she said, calling him by his name rather than the nickname she had coined for him to express a deeper sense of admiration,"I want ya to know that ya ain't alone in it. We can still take care of each other." she assured him, bringing a hand to rest on his face, his cheeks rough with stubble,"I'm here for you just as strong as ya are for me. You do know that don't ya?" she asked.

we’ll deal with it.  It’ll be fine.
What the hell did that mean? This wasn't something they could put a band aid on and wait for it to just go away, no, this was a problem that they were going to get to face. Emily knew that he was more than likely inwardly shocked and that was the best he could manage to say at the moment but her emotions were starting to get very crazy. She forced herself to remain calm as well, laughing a little at what a cruel bitch life could be at times. Sure, they could have prevented this from happening but it didn't matter. 'Coulda, shoulda, woulda' wasn't going to help with what was happening right here and now.
"For the record if you're worried about how to react I'll be honest with you. I'm scared shitless and am not exactly in a 'tell all my friends' state so it's okay to act honest with me." she told him, hoping it would ease him out of his stupor.
Was it the sea monkey's fault? No. Was it still a serious matter and something that put their lives in danger? Yes. Not really here in Crawford. Odds were they'd get out of this if they busted their asses hard enough. The danger was on a more broader level. A pregnancy, not to mention a screaming infant, would put their lives in more danger than they already were on a daily basis. The prison was a safe place to raise little Judith but what were they going to do if they returned and it had been once again over run or the rest of the others were missing or dead? A baby was the LAST thing that they needed.
Then the thought crossed her mind. A thought that made her heart ache and her stomach churn. There was always the option of taking abortion pills but could she really go through with that? She hadn't ever really been comfortable with the idea of it and certainly wasn't wanting to resort to it for herself but she couldn't make any decisions about this without knowing how Shane felt about if first.
She spoke again after a few more awkward moments of silence," I know you might not have a speech lined up or anything but it'd be really great if ya could manage to say something else." she said, begging for the silence to cease.

The silence didn't last for too long after he asked. Emily wasn't sure if she was nauseous from bring knocked up or from the inwardly building anxiety of whatever Shane's reaction might be to what she was about to tell him. As if they didn't already have enough problems right now. All hell broken loose between Woodbury and the Prison, not to mention there was no telling who was left alive after. Then he gets shot in the leg during the attack on the town and a complete stranger drives them to a concentration camp disguised as a small community. On top of all that they were forbidden to leave. The last thing either of then needed to worry about was an infant. Then there was the whole nine months of misery before hand.
She wished that she didn't have to put this stress on him but there was no way that it could be helped now. Emily couldn't put it off anymore it had been official for her for three days and it was time the baby daddy was clued in on it. It wasn't like she could hide if from him and just tell him she was getting fat from the 'abundant rations'. Suck it up girl and just tell him, she mused, biting the inside of her lip, drawing a small amount of blood.
Taking a breath, Emily folding her arms, subconsciously comforting herself. She finally let the words pass her lips, her big blue eyes staring into his apologetically, "...............I'm pregnant." she said, her voice quite and breaking slightly from the fear of uncertainty.

She shrugged,"I think you should give it a shot. Step outside that comfort zone of yours." she said, poking him in the arm,"Besides what do you want a bet you are an even more kick ass artist when you're drunk off your ass?" she joked yet again. She was surprised how much she could let her hair down with Jack. It almost made it seem like they were just two friends hanging out on a Saturday afternoon without a care in the world as if the zombie apocalypse had never been unleashed upon the world.
"That or you can sit and talk to me about the same ol' shit that happens on a daily basis. You don't want that, do ya?"
[Bluebird to Sparrow, Come In]: Jack//Emily (PAST PARA)
Emily hadn’t thought it possible for her grin to stretch any wider but only Jack could make that a total lie. She laughed,”What, because I’m sexy, smart, AND funny?” she joked in a Marilyn Monroe voice, flipping her hair, realizing a few strands had caught onto her lip. She scrunched her face humorously and spit them out.
She smiled again with a chuckle,”Well you aren’t so bad yourself Sparrow.” she commented, staring back down at the drawing,”You think you could draw yourself dressed as a pirate?” she asked randomly, purely for the fun of it.
Jack took another long drink off the flask, setting it aside as he chuckled and shook his head. “Yeah, that.” He laughed harder, still shaking his head as he returned the flask to his lips. He was having one of those days— just needed to get wasted. Maybe he was worried, who knows, he was an alcoholic after all, so he didn’t really need a reason as to why he drink every day— it was just something he couldn’t avoid without sending his body into shock from the withdrawals.
Quietly scoffing, Jack flushed a light shade of pink and lifted his shoulders in a light shrug before he erupted into a fit of laughter. “Smooth, real smooth.” He chuckled before looking thoughtful. “Sadly, probably not. I’m not very talented when it comes to self portraits, but then again maybe that is because its been awhile since I looked into an actual mirror that didn’t include these plastic prison ones.” He laughed. “Why, do you want me to?” He inquired curiously.

Emily kept her arms folded as she paced, not feeling comfortable sitting down since her body was still wired from the adrenaline of uncertainty,"Ya know the fact that they barricade us in with the corpses of walkers isn't exactly making the place less ominous." she put her face to her palm,"Wouldn't be surprised if some of them were the bodies of his victims." she mumbled, referring to William. The guy gave her the creeps from the second she saw him and his list of rules and consequences only confirmed her suspicions of his character.
She took a deep breath, turning back to Shane,"Obviously we can't stay here with Mr. Tyrant and his brainwashed Nazi's." she said in a harsh whisper,"This place isn't safe for any of us especially now that Lori and Judith are involved." When Emily had seen that Lori, Judith, Daryl, and Carol had been among the people that had been herded here she new that had to all find a way to get their asses out of here and back on the road to the prison.
She took a seat next to Shane whom had been sitting to rest his injured leg, giving it a break from all the pressure he had put on it hobbling away from the Woodbury fiasco. She ran a hand through her hair as she mused. NOW would be a REALLY good time to tell him about the sea monkey. Granted it wasn't the best place to be doing so but this had to be done. Boy did she have some frosting to add to this Fuck cake.
"There's something else Shane...." she started, trailing off as she looked up to meet his gaze, staring at him like a kid that had been caught for breaking an expensive vase and attempted to hide it in the toy box.
Some Kind of Sanctuary - Emily & Shane
By the time Rory got them to the closest camp, Shane was too tired to care where they ended up.  He fought the good fight, tried to keep his head up and stay alert as long as possible, but after losing so much blood and having to barrel through the woods with walkers at their back, it didn’t take long before exhaustion started to get the better of him.  Save for a few muttered comments here and there, the majority of the conversation on the ride went on between Emily and Rory.  Emily would’ve shaken him awake had there been anything wrong with their chauffeur though, he was sure of it.
Emily did all the talking when they got to school, too.  There were armed guards, Shane remembered that much.  A lot of shouting and hustling around too.  Somewhere in all of that mess they lost the girl who brought them in the first place, but she wasn’t injured.  She probably wound up in her own room elsewhere, or wherever it was they put new people.
There were medically trained people at the new place too, thankfully.  Emily had done a good job on him but there were still bullet fragments to pick out, still a great deal of pain and swearing to endure before they got him bandaged up and placed in whatever kind of infirmary the place had. Or maybe it was just a spare bed somewhere - it didn’t matter, because they were safe here, Emily was safe there in the room with him. And there were painkillers too, ones strong enough to take the edge off so he could sleep. Shane wasn’t going to question that at the moment.
Come morning, however, there were people in the room asking questions about how they’d gotten there, how many others were in their group. Routine things, Shane thought, until they got to the rules.  He nodded, went along with all of it, but the longer that list got the more uncomfortable he felt.  A glance at Emily told him she must have been feeling the same - something was wrong, that much he could tell.
Once the welcoming committee paraded back out of the room to give them privacy, Shane ran a hand back through his hair and sighed. “I don’t know about this place, Emily. No kids? What the hell would they do if one turned up all alone? Tell ‘em no? And fuckin’…breakin’ a rule’s punishable by death?”

[Bluebird to Sparrow, Come In]: Jack//Emily (PAST PARA)
Jack watched Emily with thoughtful pale green eyes, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he tilted his head to further study the noirette. “I’m glad you have Shane, you deserve to be happy Emily, everyone does, especially when there is such darkness in the world these days.” The raven haired man’s face turning brooding as his eyes lowered to the sketch book.
Staring at her quizzically, Jack’s eyebrows shot up. He had a feeling as to why the woman was turning down the drink of liquor— there could be only one reason too, but of course he wouldn’t out her unless she was ready to let him in on it.
Emily’s next words caught Jack off guard a little, he wasn’t expecting something so amusing to pass her lips. Looking up, green sights widening, he laughed and shook his head. “You are something bluebird.” He chuckled, continuing to shake his head and laughing softly.

 but he rescued my heart.
Emily could empathize on that. She simply smiled, making a mental note about his offer to do a portrait of them. Hell she might want on of her baby when he or she was born. She dare not tell him yet. The only person that knew was Lori since she had been there for emotional support and she'd be damned if Shane wasn't the next to know.
She had to politely decline the offer to drink,"Sorry, I ain't in much of a drinking mood today." she said. That was such a lame excuse. If she didn't have a bun in the oven then she would have gladly taken a few swigs. She looked back down at the progress he had made on the drawing smiling,"Well I am happy that you've found someone to be your first mate, Captain." she said, winking.
[Bluebird to Sparrow, Come In]: Jack//Emily (PAST PARA)
Jack just ducked his head and nodded shyly, a wistful smile on his face. He looked up sideways to watch as Emily’s face mimicked his own in bashfulness. “I think you have someone as well m’dear.” He chuckled, resting his elbow on the table and propping his chin up on the heel of his hand as he watched the raven haired girl.
“No, I don’t think I have. Is that your beloved?” Jack asked, so old fashioned in the term he used. He sighed happily and smiled at Emily while he listened to her. “It doesn’t sound cheesy at all. One day, if he you guys want me to, I’ll paint your portrait. Then you’ll have a picture.” Jack chuckled, leaning back and stretching a moment. “Luke hasn’t ever saved me from walkers, I did that for him.. but he rescued my heart..” He sighed dreamily and stared off into space as he thought about the first time he had met Luke.
“The boy had a rusty kitchen knife, that was the only weapon he had. I gave him a gun and a proper blade.” He reached for the flask that he carried in the back pocket of his jeans, tugging it out and unscrewing it, Jack took a long drink of today’s poison— which just so happened to be scotch— and then politely offered Emily the flask.
