I enjoyed using references of dancers to create these images

Trying a copy - hers on the left, mine on the right. Really like her work, the focus on human body, pose and movement

Some Edward Gorey inspired work. More restrained style then I necessarily like, but was fun to be more precise. One, a copy (his on the right, mine on the left), then one from my own reference image. Whilst he is more of an illustrator than fine artist, he also did some costume design work, and so I thought it would be relevant.

More work in Baez’s style. Used old photos, including some of me and my brother, as her work depicts primarily children.

Getting into the style - her work on the left, mine on the right. I like the use of mixed media and especially the little pen illustrations within the main drawing.

Was really enjoyable working on larger scale works, and also a nice textured surface. I initially thought the painting on the white onto the newspaper would look really wierd, but atcually I really like how it brings the background together whilst providing a cool texture. My drawings are less abstract than Kastman’s, but I experimented with some of the different mark making techniques she uses to render them. I also like how ripping at the newspaper reveals the cardboard as a contrasting colour underneath. I think I want to work into the two person piece further though.

One based off one of my own photos. Working on another one too. I'm enjoying the mixed media use, especially working with oil pastels as that's something I tend to avoid

Third artist - I really love this artists style. This is a copy (his on the left, mine on the right). I feel, however, that the way of copying his work makes the process very different from how Tangye approaches his process. I will now move on and try doing some of my own images in his style.

Another go at Kurt Jackson's style, this time I tried using two colours rather than just greyscale, though I have also included a copy where I have edited the drawing to be black and white, to see what it would look like.
