Elevator Pitch
Elevator Pitch Example:Ā
Hi, My name is Emily Ibrahim and I am a first year student studying graphic design at Ryerson university. Throughout this year I have expanded my knowledge on applications such as photoshop, premiere pro, maya, thunkable, tumblr, and multiple adobe applications. My skills have immensely improved because of the amount of practice I have put into my work, yet there are still some challenges of course. I practice developing applications, softwares, animations, drawings and blog posts along the way. (Showing them pictures/videos in my portfolio of my work)Ā Often times I tend to thrive in the innovation aspects of my creativity, thinking outside the box, constantly improving and perfecting my craft. One downside I find about myself is that I always strive to be perfect. Nothing is ever good enough in my eyes and this could become harmful if I begin overthinking every single part of a project. Overall, I find your team impeccable, innovative and refreshing to the art world and I would be honoured if you were to consider me for an internship in your company.Ā
Steps / Considerations:Ā
Elevator pitches in essence are a quick introduction of yourself. This gives you an opportunity to express who you are, and tell them more about you or your brand, product etc. During this session, a pitch needs to have a clear expression about yourself and the influence you would provide to a person, company, group etc (essentially who you are pitching the idea to). Consider the people you are trying to impress. What they want to know, such as; Who are you? What do you do? What do you want to gain? What are your skills and weaknesses? What differs you from those around you who may want the same thing? Throughout my pitch, I explained my considerations and the goal of my pitch was to let people know that I fit the requirements of their innovative company.Ā

How would you search for an exact word or phrase? In order to narrow down your search, you should enclose your entire phrase with quotation marks. This tells the search platform to look for precise keywords in that exact order.Ā A perfect example is if you were to search for āThe Skeleton Danceā If you did not use quotations, the results that would pop up would be any site including āTheā āSkeletonā and āDanceā individually.Ā
How would you search for something on a specific site? The way to search for something specific on a google website is to simply putĀ āsite:_______.com or whatever site you would like to search after. After doing this, youāll get all of the sections of that set website. Results from the rest of the internet will not show up, they will be filtered out.Ā
How would you correctly search for a definition? The most effective, efficient way to search for the definition of a word, phrase etc is to putĀ ādefineā in front of it. Ex: āDefine Astrophysics.ā
How would you search for a specific product available within a specific price range? To search specifically for a product in a certain price range, you add two periods. Specify a price range (ex: $10-$25) and add two periods in the middle of those numbers to narrow down your search to that price point. Ex: gold rings $35..$75.Ā

How would you include or ignore words in your search? In order to ignore words in your search, you must use a hyphen in front of it. This tells the platforms algorithm to exclude whatever follows that set hyphen in the search results. Ex: Restaurants to eat at near me -vegan. How Businesses and The Internet commingle.
Living in an age where the world revolves around social media, everywhere you look business is created. The internet has immensely broadened the spectrum for new business opportunities, giving rise to hundreds of thousands of online business owners. This idea has so much power behind it, as anyone nowadays has the capability to begin their own successful company from the comfort of their homes. Therefore, individuals are taking advantage of the role in which online media plays in business to grow and succeed at a faster rate than what was previously possible. This powerful concept does not leave traditional businesses behind as they are creating an online presence as well. In this internet fuelled world, if a company is not promoting, selling, and expressing themselves on online platforms, it may cause their own demise. Companies attempting to become successful must connect their consumers with the markets available. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are paid to āsocial media presencesā as promotion for the company on platforms such as twitter, tiktok, and instagram. These social media stars help companies sell their product and message, making it go viral extremely quickly. Following trends, posting at a consistent rate, and expressing innovative ideas allow companies to broadcast any concept to millions in seconds, reaching a wider global audience. Alongside such, the internet expresses what they are trying to promote in a fast and cost-efficient way. Taking a look at e-commerce websites as well, these platforms allow online payment solutions. These provide the freedom for anyone to buy and sell from the comfort of their own homes. Cyberspace has drastically changed the advertising industry through continuously innovating itself. Unfortunately, this has slowly become a double edged sword. Since there is an immense cluster of content, it becomes harder to catch viewers attention because it takes something incomparable/unique to become popular.
