I was high off my ass last night and had this dream where I was in this dense ass forest and sitting there was a tall woman. She was so tall I couldn’t see her face but she was wearing gold and I was like “uh...hi?” And she said “I made you, do you know that?” And I nodded and she was like “I hear your thoughts. every gay girl i’ve spoken to agrees that one of the most humiliating and demoralizing things is having a straight girl thinking you’re coming on to them simply bc you like girls and it….really fucks with our relationships both platonic and romantic bc while other girls get to sit on each others laps and sleep in the same beds and playfully grab each others asses we’re putting up so many walls just in case our straight friends think we’re after them.

The thing about Sjm’s books is that they affect you in ways you may not notice at first.

I read Throne of Glass a couple of weeks ago, and when Celaena kept telling herself “I will not be afraid”, I thought oh whatever get on with it.

But just now I had to talk to someone that scares the shit out of me, and I found myself thinking “I am tired of being scared. I will not be afraid.” And I remembered how Celaena got over her fear and accomplished so many things, and it helped. I went and talked to that person, and I got what I wanted.

And a while back, I was having a hard time getting over a past trauma of mine that somehow just came back to the surface, and reading about Feyre’s struggle in ACOMAF helped a lot. “Only you can decide what breaks you” is one of my favorite quotes ever.

So thank you, Sarah J Maas, for creating such inspirational and real female protagonists.

RIP Katreese Barnes, the absolute legend. She just died of breast cancer at 56.

Starting with Adora having the most relatable reaction one could have to meeting a tall, beefy lady who casually throws people around.
