it's not that apollodoros has lavish tastes—he likes simple things overall, but those things are still incredibly expensive to afford and while not unaware of it because he needs/wants to keep track of his money flux, he is still somewhat? unrealistic in his estimation of what is simple and affordable, rich people skill issue
