I remade the shark shack on its own lot, added some "attractions" and handed it off to Alexandra Teatherton (who, despite abandoning her own child back in Riverblossom Hills in order to fulfill her pirate aspirations, never achieved anything at all, and is now stuck minding a shitty little pickled shark in the middle of the desert).

When I was a kid, my dad took me and my sister to one of the world's worst county fairs. Janky disappointing rides at the end of long lines, overpriced garbage masquerading as food, game stalls flush with unwinnable prizes. My dad was drunk, as usual.

I don't remember much of anything about it, except for my dad causing a scene over one of the rides... and the dead whale exhibit.

A sign at the entrance of the rather unspectacular trailer assured curious spectators that it was real (although if you could somehow prove otherwise, then this now absolutely worthless giant fake whale carcass would be yours, all yours, and you'd only have your own meddling ass to blame).

Inside, a glass wall stretched from one end of the space to the other, and a dead whale, skin cracked and peeling, regarded his admirers with one big plastic googly eye. I didn't ask, but my dad suggested that the "real" eye had probably rotted out some time ago; why a big, plastic googly eye seemed like an appropriate replacement was harder to explain.

In fact, I still wonder about that. Like it wasn't audacious enough to parade an immense, flaking corpse around with the very real threat of forcing you to assume ownership of it, should you dare to prove the current owner a liar, but a fucking googly eye? Like some kind of massive, ocean-dwelling pug?

Lord, help this whale and anyone else who took that taxidermy class at Michaels.

Anyway, I figured Strangetown could use a similar shitshow, so I broke out my dear cursed boy and tried to recreate one of the standout attractions from my childhood fuckery la fête.

I don't know what to call it, or which poor, unsuspecting Strangetown resident will be saddled with this glorious burden, but now everyone who has read this far knows that I could, right now at this very moment, have a giant fake whale carcass somewhere on my property.

But I don't.

And that is a fact that we will all just have to learn to live with. Somehow.
