I have to say, this (what I hope to be) final #freshwater #aquarium setup looks amazing and Fisher's Fishies ™ are happy!

I went from a #closedtank with internal filters and a, frankly, cacky #ledlight that came with the #55litre box to this #beast.

Sacrifices have been made and they all hurt. We've had #greenwater, #PooWater, #amoniashock, most recently, I lost an entire population save two #corydoras I might name Ellie and Joel! I've lost #comets, #fantails, #telescopefish, #tetras, and a few #plecos.

I'd almost lost hope, a shame to my name. But now, with that Hygger Aquarium beast of a #filterbox at the back and some great EHEIM kit I think we've got a chance.

The bamboo was the idea of the lovely Mr. Cho, who runs my local #Chinese knick-knack shop (these're common in Southern Spain) is, in fact, Dracaena sanderiana which is a closer relation to asparagus...but it helps keep the water pure. I have some nice plants set in the nutrient-rich #substrate I bought from Amazon, a UV internal filter from Forever Speed, and a couple of box #ProteinSkimmers, as well as having filled the #biofilter box with Seachem #matrixbio rock things.

I have spent a bloody fortune so my fish had better not die now (excepting the one joyous suicide of a #pandagarra early this morning)!

I'm going to start uploading #aquariumvideos to my website (in profile) and sharing some of my experiences with the unforgiving mistress that is the #aquariumhobby in the coming weeks.

Asmodeus, Asmodeus, Asmodeus, let me tell you about Asmodeus...

In truth, there are precious few facts to tell you about him. Rumours; there are dozens of rumours out there, hundreds, most of them probably originating from the same source; Asmodeus himself.

He is, if nothing else, a thinker. Everything he does, from how he speaks to the clothes he wears, is carefully calculated. That nasty scar he has dominating one side of his face? He could wish it away in seconds but it serves the purpose of unsettling people, of putting them on edge.

Many see him as basically competent but essentially useless, an amusing idiot bumbler, and he does nothing to disabuse them of such notions. If they think he's an idiot who can do nothing right, they believe him to be beneath them and, therefore, ignore him.

People ignoring him is what he wants, because, he says, that gives him all the freedom he needs.

This is how the #Kalshodar are meant to look! This is how I've imagined them since I first came up with the idea of the #EmpyraeumCycle.

The hardest part was the symmetry, posture, and physicality of an 11 foot immortal warrior.

"Different in frame to the spare Dracograth, who are built for speed, the Kalshodar are wide -shouldered with deep, powerful chests. Their limbs are longer than what might considered the human norm but they are perfectly proportioned all the same. Dracograth, it has been said, are made to to loom, they are guards first and foremost. Kalshodar, though, are front-line warriors and they certainly look it..."

This Kalshodar is dressed in a Medusa Aegis or Mark 4 Reflex Armour, considered the best personal defense equipment in existence; it combines resistant yet light armour plate with an integrated defensive field which reacts to all incoming force with an automatic and equal pushback or reflex, effectively cancelling the force of the attack out millimetres from the surface of the armour itself. The same field selectively hardens thixotropic liquid mithril present in the armour's fabric in response to the electromagnetic signature of the 'reflex'.

This means Reflex Armour is close to impervious to conventional attacks and explains why the Kalshodar have never been beaten.

The "Medusa" label is due to the new helmet, which somewhat resembles a hooded cobra, the improved sealed respiration system contributing to this change. A Kalshodar can now transition from complete vacuum, to reduced atmospheric pressure, increased pressure, to normal, and back again with no ill effects.

Kalshodar Reflex Armour Type-D

Since the inception of the Kalshodar, three millennia ago, there have been four Marks or Types of #ReflexArmour, that is how well it is built.

Prior to the use of Reflex Field equipped #armour, right at the beginning, a heavy suit of #Dwarvish mithril-steel was the order of business. Sturdy, resilient, and darn well imposing in its day but very heavy and hell to wear in the heat or cold.

Reflex armour is made of newer, lighter materials, has the #thixotropic mithril in its natural liquid state as part of its make-up, and is imbued with powerful #ReflexField technology.

Type-D or Mark 4 Reflex Armour incorporates an updated #helmet design while maintaining the #classic #Corinthian look the Kalshodar love. It features a much-improved sensor and detection suite along with better air filtration and toxic substance scrubbing systems.

It also looks #badass

Dracograth armour is not simply ornate and beautiful, as well as somewhat imposing; is it also even more advanced than ordinary Kalshodar armour. 

Like all suits of Reflex Armour, it is designed to be removed and put on without direct assistance, giving its wearer the ability to be autonomous in the field as long as they have a Kalshodar ship nearby. All Kalshodar craft, from Cruisers to Gryphon landing ships, have an Arming Booth or few. An Arming Booth is designed to maintain, charge, repair, and "open up" all current marks of Reflex Armour. Once the user wishes to leave his or her suit, the Arming Booth will initiate programs designed to release all parts of the armour held together by mithril and electromagnetic force. Upon connection, the Booth will remove the suit's backpack and drain mithril still present on the suit before sending a specific electromagetic signal to cause the articulation points to repel one another in a specific sequence. The result of this has been described as 'looking like a shelled lobster' by Korax; the Reflex Armour will unfold and open up, allowing the Kalshodar or Dracograth to simply step out of the suit, clad only in their body glove. 

With Dracograth armour, part of this process is to 'retract' their dragon-faced helmet as shown below; the 'lower jaw' drops towards the chest, and the 'upper jaw' and head are raised and swing back and down leaving only the 'under helmet' visible. Of course, no Dracograth will do this while on duty as part of the mystique and function of Alexander's palace and personal guards is that they all look the same when their armour is on, just another pair of dispassionate eyes staring from between a dragon's golden teeth. The Dracograth themselves are quite adept at telling one another apart, it is said, quite how is one of their many mysteries. Shamshir claims that they have memorised one another's eyebrows. 

On the balance of it, it is perhaps no less imposing to look a Dracograth in the face than their eyes between the teeth of their helmet....

The JASON or Jet Aircraft (for) Sub Orbital Navigation is the cruise-liner of the skies of The Empyraeum and beyond.

Jason flights connect The Empyraeum to all the Nations on Gaia and their people. This particular vehicle operates for Green Goblin Airlines of Potawatomi Ventures, based in the Federated People's Nations, far across the cold, deep Atlantic Ocean; it flies between Potawatomi City and Alexandria twice a week.

The principle behind the JASON is simple, and implied in the name; it is a jet engine powered aircraft the navigates by travelling to the limit of Gaia's atmosphere before dropping back down at incredible speed, reaching its destination in a quarter of the time any other aircraft might manage. What takes a hover barge a week, a Jason can do in under two hours.

Massive Helios MX-1 engines take the Jason up to the high mesosphere at four times the speed of sound, powerful intertidal dampeners and low-power Reflex Fields ensuring the two hundred and eighty passengers feel almost none of it. After reaching parabolic trajectory, the Jason switches off the "big boys" and uses a series of Aeolus variable geometry turbojet engines to steady its descent and slow down quickly.

The same Aeolus engines are used to "land the Jason with no more wind than a fly's fart" on the J-Port landing pad, safe for the passengers to disembark at their destination.

In the last decade, J-Ports have sprung up across the globe everywhere except Intzeca territory. Tourism has become the main source of income for many cities.
