When I got really sick this time last year and the only things I could eat without immediately throwing up were protein bars and thin mint meal replacement shakes, my summer campers were convinced that I was eating candy for lunch every day. I gave up trying to convince them that protein bars were healthy and instead I told them that I had a special disease that made me allergic to everything but candy, but this lie made them so mad that they tried physically forcing me to eat vegetables. Which in retrospect is really funny. And was also really funny at the time.

Just a little PSA for all our mental health (and chronic pain*) spoonies out there! A lot of doctors neglect to mention this little side effect, which means a lot of us are suffering extra from the heat without knowing why.
