Final hand in day

Here is my set up for my final hand in of all of my back up pieces of work for my MA collection.

My final look book has arrived ready for my degree show!

Sample editorial pieces

As part of my degree show i am going to have a look book on a plinth for people to view. I decided to use the photos from my photo shoot with my friend, and edit them to create a strong editorial piece, similar to that of a magazine/ catalog style, whilst also trying to incorporate both collections together into one book. I got this printed at a company called Blurb. Here are some sample pages from the pdf file i sent to the printers.

Additional Laser Cut Jewelry for my editorial photography.

Within these photos i have mixed both my collections together. Although the earrings are too weighted for their design, i am extremely happy with the outcome of the two neck-pieces against the garments. I feel that by using these laser cut pieces to bring the collections together my overall MA show and two collections will come together as a strong front and create a bold impact. The white background behind the garments and pieces also will help a lot when editing my look book.

Outfit 1 - Embellished sequin garment - Collection 1

I feel this collection has come together really well, and i absolutely love the shimmering effect of the material and the laser cut shapes sewn into the garment. I feel that the sections without beading where you can see the skin colour through really add to the overall softness of the garment, and i think that by far this is my favorite garment of all of my final collections. I feel that from looking through my market research, and my design development i have met my aspirations for this garment well. If i had further time i would continue down the path of this style of garment and create another to mirror and contrast the colours shown above.

Outfit 3 - Off-the shoulder slouch neck dress - Collection 2

I feel that the back drop for this outfit has worked really well, as it blends in with the colour scheme within the outfit. I do like the outcome of my bat-wing off the shoulder dress, however i don’t feel it is as bold as the other prints and isn’t tailored as well. Although i wish this outfit did fit the model better, i still like the draped effect and feel it has worked well considering i have never sewn an outfit before this collection.

Outfit 2 - Collection 2 - 2 -Piece over-sized 3/4 pants and jumper

I feel the length of these pants has turned out perfect not only for the mannequin height for my final MA show but also to fit Hannah my model well also. Her bold make-up, mixed with my contrasting back drop and outfit colours works really well within these photos and i’m extremely pleased with the outcome of this.

Outfit 1 - Longline t-shirt dress - Collection 2 

I absolutely love the look of this dress and the way it has come out i feel it has worked really well. I chose to take photos of this outfit within colour and vibrant backgrounds and landscapes to ensure that once edited, both the garments and location blended together well for the Japanese/ Tokyo bold style i was hoping to achieve within my looks.

I am lucky enough to have a wonderful friend who has agreed to model all of my outfits for me. I think the outfits will really suit not only her frame shape, but also her individual style and make up tastes.
