I cannot for the life of me take “porn-brained” and “porn addiction” rhetoric seriously. Like, I’m sure there is someone out there who is wasting away from gooning 24/7 but if you want me to seriously believe pornography is in our top 500 major public health threats, you will not succeed. If you want me to believe that porn is the root of all misogyny and sexual violence and a world of total media chastity would cure all these ills, you are sorely mistaken.

I see a few people have a slight misunderstanding what the Ban Conversion Therapy campaign is about. It is NOT an initiative calling for a ban on gender-affirming surgery (I would never!!!)

Conversion ‘therapy’ is a horrible practice where you are forced to ‘get rid of the gay’ inside of you. It involves exorcisms, electroshock therapy, being forced to kneel in front of a statue of Jesus and ask for forgiveness and other horrible torturing practices that often lead to lifelong mental scars!

The thing about ADHD is that the "lack of reward chemicals in your brain" doesn't just mean that you don't want to do any tasks that don't feel particularly yummy :(, it means that your brain will look at chores and tasks that need to be done like "doing this would be painful and tedious for absolutely nothing to gain from it, Do Not Do That." The same thing that your brain tells you about everything else that would feel really bad and hurt the entire time that you're dying. The part of your brain that stops you from doing the thing is the same part that keeps you from shoving your arm into a wood chipper.

With unmedicated, unmanaged ADHD, "I have to do this assignment or I fail and my life will be ruined and I die" feels like a SAW trap, every single time.

I am in direct contact with the people behind the Ban Conversion 'Therapy' campaign in EU and we would really like to reach the threshold in a couple central/eastern European countries (e.g. Poland 🇵🇱, Czechia 🇨🇿, Hungary 🇭🇺, Romania 🇷🇴, Bulgaria 🇧🇬, Slovakia 🇸🇰) but due to the language barrier it is a bit harder. These countries can sometimes be more conservative so them reaching the signature threshold carries a lot weight! 

We don’t know how (where) to reach these countries effectively! ~12 years ago I was on https://www.interpals.net where you can chat with people from all over the world, it still looks to be active so we can campaign there BUT, we would love to receive more ideas how to reach people from the above countries.

Don’t forget to share the campaign (actively messaging/asking friends is by far the most effective method!!)
