Who is Nina?
Thanks @encanto-extended-edition for inspiring me to finally organize this blog and make an introduction/masterpost!
I don't have a fanfic or anything solid like that. Mostly headcanons and some art. She and Bruno are my metaphorical dolls I make kiss in my head.
No dignity here. Just silly, fun, indulgent self-insert zaniness.

After weeks of Art block or burn-out, Its finally happening, I present You all, The Family Tree of The Ibarra-Méndez-Madrigals
I also Added my own version of Bruno TTS style. Sonia's Little Brother, Emilo, is revealed as well as Sonia's Twin Girls!!! I was Really hoping it turned out the way I wanted. I Hope You All Love Them as much as I Do!!đđčâ
âđâ©đš
Felicia's gift would've been the Power of Luck, both good & Bad. She can give people small amounts of Good luck when they need it or Bad luck when they deserve it. She also gets to experience both as well. You can tell by her dress, She has small four leave clovers to present Good luck as for the white sprinkles scattered around the Middle is symbolizing salt to ward off bad luck. Sadly, Sonia had miscarried Felicia before she got to announce her pregnancy, She would've been the first child of the next generation madrigals.
-**If You don't already know Milagros's Gift, He can show visions of a Memory, Good or bad, similair to his Papa's gift. Although, Miles has to wear Leather gloves everyday preventing him to accidentally creating a Red ruby Slab of a memory.
-**When the twins turn 5, Aroa will have the gift of freezing & Unfreezing Time Like a Pause Button. As well as Novi, She will get the gift of Rewinding or Forward through time, however It has a limit, She can only Rewind time for 12 hours Max while She can fast forward time Every hour to several Hours.
(8 of the characters belong to me, Bruno belongs to Disney's Encanto)

Julieta y la bruja
Aya la bruja shows Julieta Madrigal a Psilocybe columbiana and a limĂłn mandarino to make lemon tek with.
âI think mamĂĄ gave TĂo Bruno mushroom tea. She learned it from Aya la bruja when she was younger. In very small doses, it can ease melancholy.â
Aya la bruja started out as just a name. I had no intention of developing her. When I wrote that for Chapter 6 of "Viñetas," this was the kind of image I had in mind. Julieta's gift is one of the most captivating ones for me because of its resemblance with the magical element in the Mexican novel Like Water for Chocolate. Whereas Tita's emotions affect her cooking and the people that eat her food, Julieta heals physical injuries and presumably illnesses with her food. I wondered how Julieta developed her gift. Since Alma does not have her own gift and is busy running the Encanto, did anyone teach Julieta how to attend to people's health?
I recalled the Clarissa Pinkola Estés' interpretation of Vasilisa the Wise in Women Who Run with the Wolves: that in the title character's stay with the witch Baba Yaga, she learned the ways of the wizened ones from the crone. I thought perhaps there was a witch in the Encanto that could guide Julieta. Much like the Cut-Wife and Vanessa Ives in Penny Dreadful:
youtube
It didn't take me long to come up with the name. Aya comes from ayahuasca because I was looking into psychoactive substances for depression at the time. (For context: In "Viñetas," Bruno suffers from depression, insomnia, and migraines after the events of the movie.) But as I continued writing, the character of Aya la bruja would change before I got to describe her appearance. Look out for the next entry, @encanto-extended-edition đ€

Meet My Encanto OC, LucĂa Moreno from Just Your Ordinary, Everyday Miracle on ao3!
Full Name: LucĂa MarĂa Moreno-Hernandez
Age: 41
Birthday: December 13th
Height: 5'3"
Eye Color: Brown with amber/gold flecks
Hair Color:Â Dark Brown
Appearance: Medium brown skin. Long wavy dark brown hair, worn in a braid down her back or wound into a bun at the back of her head. Long thin nose and brown eyes set into a friendly round face. Usually wears a white or cream blouse with a brown, green, or blue skirt and practical shoes.
Memorable Quotes:
âI suppose we should be thankful for small miracles, eh?â Ch. 2
âI don't want an out, Bruno. This may come as a surprise to you, but I actually like you.â Ch. 9
âI want to move forward, but I don't want to forget. Sometimes it feels like everyone else is forgetting.â Ch. 16
âYouâre allowed to forgive yourself for the things you regret.  You know that, right?â Ch. 26
General Information/Personality: LucĂa is a kind, practical, 'do-what-needs-to-be-done-with-as-little-fuss-as-possible' type of person. She tends to see the best in people, and her upbringing by two loving parents in the safe and protected Encanto has given her a fairly optimistic view of the world. She's very aware of the pain that can come in life - she is a widow and losing her husband in a tragic accident broke her heart - but she tries to focus on the good she sees in the world instead - and to be some of that good herself. If she sees a need and can meet it, she does. She'll step into a situation without question if she feels she can help, but if someone is antagonizing her directly she avoids them (and conflict) like nobody's business. Her desire to be helpful often directly contradicts (and overpowers) her desire to mind her own business. She's a dreamer and a writer, and her favorite stories are ones that include pirates. Her favorite place to go when she needs time to herself is beneath the old cedar tree in the center of her neighbor's corn fields. Her biggest worry and greatest responsibility in life is raising her daughter Josefina well without her husband Alejandro, but she has a loving family that supports her in her efforts.
History: LucĂaâs parents were present at the founding of the Encanto, but LucĂa and her younger sister Sofia were not born until around a decade later.  Her father is a printer and does his best to keep literature of both the fiction and non-fiction variety alive in the Encanto, and LucĂa followed in her fatherâs footsteps.  She grew up helping her parents set type and bind books, and reading and listening to various stories and informational texts.  She helps run her fatherâs print shop and makeshift library and took on a larger role in the shop after her mother died when LucĂa was in her early thirties.  Half of the shop houses the printing press, typeset, ink, and paraphernalia associated with printing and bookbinding, and the other half holds several shelves filled with books that her parents either printed or salvaged over the years. She helps set type and print orders and helps maintain the small library they have.  She also hosts a story time for the village kids a few times a week.  Her sister Sofia married Lorenzo Rojas, who runs the stables in the Encanto.
When LucĂa was in her early twenties, she married Alejandro Moreno, an up and coming artist who went on to paint a mural of the Madrigals in town.  After they married, they worked together on printing and illustrating a large book of fairytales, legends, and fables, which LucĂa still uses during her story times. They also had one daughter together â Josefina â before he died while roaming the mountains around the Encanto in search of materials for his paints and inspiration for his work.
Alejandroâs death devastated LucĂa, and she spent over a month afterward deep in shock, grief, and depression, pushing her family, friends, and even her young daughter away.  It was only with the help of her family that she slowly began to heal from his loss and the mistakes she made while grieving him. She does her best to be a present and loving mother to Josefina and does her best to keep Alejandro's memory alive by speaking of him frequently with her daughter. Three years later she is still in the cyclical process of grieving and healing. The night Casita falls, she's helping clean up her sister's barn when Bruno Madrigal shows up with the hood of his ruana thrown over his head, demanding her âfastest steedâ.Â
Though LucĂa is quick to befriend him, their romance is what you would definitely consider a slow burn. It takes both of them time to open their hearts to the possibilty of second chances.
The wonderful art at the top of this post is by the lovely @starfangssecrets. â€
The rest is mine as I attempt to teach myself to draw. Please excuse variations in appearance and shading as I figure out what the heck I'm doing, lol. đ„°
Thanks so much for hosting this fun event @encanto-extended-edition

Week Three: AU week!!!!

Part One: The Happily-married with-children AU
In this AU, Angela and Bruno come to their conclusive feelings far, far sooner than in âcanonâ upon discovering that she is pregnant. She is 25 at the time, traveling up around in Cartagena, when she realizes something is not right. She comes back home much sooner than anticipated after missing two of her cycles, and when she is able to get Bruno alone, she breaks the news of her suspicions.
At this point in time, the two of them have been âsneaking aroundâ for about six years now, and their families are somewhat aware of the things they get up to, and similar to how many families handle improper issues, theyâve tried to ignore it so it wouldnât cause problems. But now there is a âproblem.â Bruno and Angelaâs feelings for each other areâŠlove, not that they really recognize it as such, but they are extremely domestic and compassionate with each other, and Angela pretty much lives with the Madrigals when she isnât off gallivanting across the continent. The news of Angelaâs pregnancy takes Bruno by surprise, and he is overcome with a whirlwind of feelings, including panic and fear and excitement, but above all, deep deep love. If he had absolutely no self control when she had very timidly told him, he would have swept her up into his arms and told her how much he loved her. But he is settled by the fear of âoh no, her father is going to kill me.â Angela wants to be entirely sure of her situation before they tell anyone else, so he vows secrecy, and the two donât end up telling his mother or her family until another month has passed.
Alma isâŠtrying to keep her composure when the two of them tell her. Sheâs a little upset, mostly because âthese damn kids keep dancing around their feelings while messing around, now look at what theyâve done,â and she has the responsibility of being a positive and righteous example for the rest of the town, and how can she do that with these two running around having babies out of wedlock?? But at the same time, she is overjoyed that her son will âfinallyâ have a child, and Isabela and Dolores have already been born to his sisters. Alma has considered Angela a daughter for many many years now, and she knows how her son looks at Angela. Itâs love and it has been for so long now, and she wants nothing more for them to just get their heads out of their fears and hang ups and just get married already goddamnit!
The two of them briefly bring up the idea of marriage, but Bruno does not push it as he doesnât want âproprietyâ and the fact that she is having his kid to determine what she chooses to do with her life. In fact, for much of her pregnancy, Bruno does not try to impose his own feelings on her. He makes it clear from the beginning that he will be by her side no matter what, unless she wishes for him to leave her be. Any decision she makes, he will stand by her choice and support her. Alma initially tries to push them to get married as quickly as possible, but Bruno all but begs his mother to not force his Angel into something she doesnât want, as he is still not quite sure what her feelings are towards him.

On June 26, 1929, Enele Pedro Delmar Madrigal Morales is born. Angelaâs pregnancy with her son was difficult to say the very least, and the extreme prolonged labor almost did her in. After many many hours and a shoulder dystocia, he finally came into the world, a healthy happy baby boy with a head full of wispy dark curls. The name Enele comes from Angelaâs great uncle, who had taken Guillermo (her father) in when he was young and had passed away before the refuge of the Encanto was formed, and Guillermo had revealed to her that if she had been born a boy, thatâs what he and Anamaria had decided to name her in that situation. Pedro is used as the second name for the boy, and Angela had almost insisted that it be his first name, but Bruno, again, did not want to have too much influence on if Angela indeed want to go through with marrying him. About a year and a half later, Angela and Bruno are properly married. Though Bruno was entirely certain and confident in his feelings towards Angela, she was very lost in her emotions through her pregnancy and was scared to impose herself on Bruno, and following the birth of Enele, she too finally felt certain that she loved Bruno with everything in her heart. Eneleâs gift is the control of water. He is the most extroverted and outgoing of his siblings, and is a very protective older brother over his sisters. He loves to feel helpful, and primarily uses his gift to alleviate some of the emotional pressure Pepa is under in regards to irrigation and potential destruction caused by heavy weather.
On February 1, 1932, Esmeralda Leilani Alma Madrigal Morales is born about a month premature, very very small with bright green eye just like her fatherâs. She was a far easier pregnancy and birth for Angela, and the woman had joked a few times about doing cartwheels and cliff diving when she was 6 months in, much to Brunoâs panic and anxiety. On her fifth birthday, she is gifted with tactile empathy and manipulation of emotions. She uses her gift primarily to ease and mediate tense situations between the family and the people in town. Struggling with nightmares and anxiety? She can calm down your overactive thoughts. Are you angry with someone and donât know how to peacefully articulate how you feel? She can relieve some of the tension. And with her tactile abilities, she is able to feel the emotions tied to people and objects when she touches them. This gift comes at a bit of a cost to her own emotionally stability, and for that reason, Angela and Bruno are large advocates of their daughter to protect her wellbeing. For this, Esme also tends to wear long sleeved clothing and occasionally gloves to protect herself from unwanted contact.
And their last baby, Evangelina Remedios Anamaria Madrigal Morales, is born on July 30, 1934. She is blessed with a pair of wings on her gift ceremony. Her gift is within a similar vein to Antonioâs, in that it is a bit more indulgent than out of being âuseful.â While she does occasionally use her gift to travel quickly and relay messages and delivers to people across town, her wings are more so for her own enjoyment, flying up into the clouds and fluttering up through the tall canopy tree tops of the jungle. She is not quite as introverted and withdrawn as her sister, nor as outgoing and wild as her brother, but a happy medium between the extremes of her siblings.
The reason this AU is called the âhappily-married-with-childrenâ AU is because it is happy. In this universe, Bruno does not leave his family or go into hiding. His issues regarding the pressure from his mother and his less than incredible reputation in town is buffered by the fact that he is surrounded by the love of his beautiful wife and three children. This is not to say that anyoneâs self esteem issues can be fixed with having a romantic partner and kids, but I truly do not believe that Bruno would be a man who would abandon his partner and children if he had that. So, yes, this does âretconâ the canon, and I am still working out some of the details, but in the end, this is a happy universe for these characters that have gone through so much hell already. In the words of @sharknadoslutt who encouraged this AUâŠâAU where Bruno knocks Angela up and he never goes into hiding. Happy AU where they admit feelings early on and have a family theater thing going onâ

Me: I'm not in the Encanto fandom anymore, I've moved on
Also me: hehe Shepherd oc go brrr
..
Anyways! I've needed a Shepherd in my story for a while, just never had the drive to design one- until today I guess! I don't know what came over me but I do really love her.
She's friends with Armida because I always said Armida would be friends with whoever had sheep, they work together to make Encantos fabric after all.
I don't have much else on her yet, besides the fact that she really loves her sheep, and she's kinda inspired by that one girl who shears sheep on social media (Katie form right choice shearing I do believe!)
No name yet </3

The Madrigal boys đ (Part 3/3) @encanto-extended-edition
Week 1: Introductions
CĂ©sar Madrigal: The oldest of the trio, he's very introverted and lacks a lot of social skills. The only person he's close with is his little brother whom he practically raised and is very protective of. Coming from a very rough household, CĂ©sar doesn't trust many people due to his biological parents abandoning him and his brother. Upon meeting Bruno and MarĂa for the first time, he was very standoffish, especially from Bruno. He worried he would leave them due to his 10 year disappearance. He felt very intimidated as well being adopted into the most respected family and felt very undeserving of it. Upon arriving at his door, he felt excited possibly receiving a gift and hoped that it would give him a purpose for existing (he'd struggled greatly with his self worth for as long as he could remember). He does not receive a gift but instead, his brother does. It makes him distance himself from everyone dor a few days, even his brother but it is then revealed that he is to help Mirabel to care for the miracle. She is excited to become his mentor being 2-3 years older than him, along with helping him get closer with his new family and discover who he is as a person.
Oliver Madrigal: CĂ©sar's younger brother and best friend, he is much more extroverted and loved making friends at the orphanage whom he still visits whenever he gets the chance. He also loves making jewelry for everyone he meets, thus creating many bracelets for everyone at the orphanage (but has very specially designed ones for him and CĂ©sar). He doesn't remember much about his biological parents and upon being adopted he was very quick to attach to MarĂa and Bruno. He couldn't understand why his brother acts the way he does and worries for him a lot, and was even a little upset he got a gift and CĂ©sar didn't. But once CĂ©sar was enlightened about why he didn't by Mirabel, he supported Oliver with his new ability and even got the first brand new bracelet made from his crystals. Everyone else in la familia Madrigal also got lovely bracelets of some sort đ Oliver loves his family and feels beyond blessed to be a part of it.
Macario Pedro Madrigal: A very big surprise for Bruno and MarĂa, he was born a few months later after the boys are adopted and was welcomed with warm arms. He was a very quiet baby until he learned his first words and became very chatty for a while. As he got older he admired his parent's relationship and upon receiving his gift (seeing relationship compatability between individuals), his gift gets mistaken often for finding soulmates.Frightened that he might be treated differently like Bruno did with his gift, his parents are very protective of Macario and so is Alma. Macario wants to help the towns people but gets overstimulated very easily. He learns from the family how to take care of himself and to not feel the dire need to help everyone.
Fun facts:
- César and Oliver weren't created out of love but instead were treated as poor bandages in a broken relationship. César became very aware of that at a young age and kept it from Oliver since he felt he should never feel the way he did growing up
- CĂ©sar was very insecure at the idea of Bruno and MarĂa having a baby, scared he and his brother were going to be forgotten and not loved as much since they weren't biological. Oliver on the other hand was excited at the idea of a new playmate and was confused as to why CĂ©sar wasn't as excited
- Oliver at some point finds Bruno and MarĂa's lovey dovey relationship 'gross' (and Camilo encourages such a mentality since he is the same with his parents when they show affection lol) while CĂ©sar is content to see them like so and how happy they are. Later Macario joining as he becomes a little bit of a hopeless romantic as he grows up
- Oliver became fascinated with his crystal growth ability and began looking into books to learn more about them, bonding with Isa as they both can create many varieties of their gift
- César never had many hobbies at first, often focusing on just his brother's well being he never had time on himself. He grows close wirh Mirabel and his cousins as they try a variety of hobbies to see what he likes. Later to be revealed: creating outfits, writing stories and acting

Week 1: Introduction
For the @encanto-extended-edition event!
I mean, would it even be me if I'm not late?
Meet Ana Julia! She's Diego's (my main OC) daughter.
Quick facts:
14 years old
Birthday May 10th
Later self-discovered bisexual
1.53 m tall
Read more about her under the cut! With some CW like child abandonment? Trauma.
Ana Julia is a 14 yo who arrives with her mother to the Encanto escaping violence. Her father dies during the attack to their town. Her mother blames her for her father's dead and their relationship breaks completely even though they were never close.
When they arrive to the Encanto she's still in survival mode, specially because her mother stops taking care of her so she has to do something to survive. She steals a lot of stuff, food mostly, so she can survive.
She's a traumatized child, she's always waiting for the moment she has to escape again, she doesn't trust the people who tries to help her, including the Madrigals. She sees their gifts as a threat so she's very cautious around them at first. She's also very angry at life.
So she wants to survive alone and her plan is to steal some chickens so they lay eggs for her. She tries to steal from Diego but Lulo stops her. After figuring out a little about her he offers her a job, kinda. She works at the farm and he will pay her and feed her. She doesn't trust Diego but she doesn't have a lot of options.
When Diego realizes her situation is worst than he first thought he basically adopts her, he gives her a place at his home, takes her as his. She doesn't accept that easily, having this trauma of being always rejected and running from everywhere. They have their ups and downs, but eventually they grow a good father - daughter relationship. She never actually changes her last name to Orozco but she's known as the Orozco kid in town.
Once she's established better she trusts the Madrigals and other friends of Diego better. She develops a crush in both Camilo and Mirabel and has her well deserved queen teenager phase, and she's very supported by her very gay new dad.
Expect more of her this month!

Across the Pacific
đž Name: Lorenzo Takayama
đžđž named after San Lorenzo Ruiz, protomartyr of the Philippines; and Beato Dom Justo Takayama Ukon, former samurai that sacrificed his title and assets to flee to Manila with 300 other Japanese Christians
đž Ethnicity: Japanese
đž Country of Origin: Philippines
đž Age: 20
đž Signature colors and symbols: pale pink, sakura (cherry blossom), calachuchi (plumeria)
đž Languages: Tagalog; a little Japanese; a little English; some Spanish
đžđž Spanish was a lingua franca in the Philippines at the time before being completely overtaken by English in 1987.
đžđž Living in Colombia would force him to speak almost exclusively in Spanish.
đž Traits: personable, hardworking, enjoys making, sharing, and eating food
đž Character bio:
The Takayama family came to the Encanto in 1950 shortly after the events of the film. Anti-Japanese sentiment after WWII had driven them out of their home in Manila, Philippines, where they were descended from Japanese Christians that relocated to Manila to escape persecution in Japan in 1614. They kept moving until they end up in the Encanto, where they build a home and restaurant showcasing Japanese cuisine. Luisa helping to build their home brings her and Lorenzo close together.
đž Relevant fics: primarily Luisa-centric fics featuring Lorenzo as a minor character. I would like to build up on this in the next month, for @encanto-extended-edition .

Armida Peréz Madrigal!!
(To any of you who have seen the old ref, or even the first one- no you didn't. This is the only ref she's ever had ok)
Week one (part one) of the encanto oc appreciation event @encanto-extended-edition
More info about her below <3
Name: Armida Peréz Madrigal
Nicknames: Mida is most common, Bunny (Pepa and Félix), mi sol and mi cielos (Pepa), Pecas, Mimi (the kids when younger)
Birth date: February 18th 1902
Age: 48 (1950)
Height: 4 foot, 11
Armida is the type to be shy when first knowing her, but after she gets comfortable she becomes almost a completely different person. Due to her past she's not one to trust easily, but she's also not one to buy into rumors about someone- knowing all too well that something can seem one way on the surface, and be completely different in reality. But once you do gain her trust she's fiercely loyal. Sometimes a bit too much- as she's sometimes selfless to the point where it's unhealthy, she'd be willing to lay down her life for a loved one.
Her sense of humor becomes clearer once she becomes comfortable too, although it ranges from dry sarcastic humor to bad/cheesy puns (she and Félix can go back and forth for hours it seems) Sometimes her favorite thing to do is tell a shitty joke and watch her family's reaction. She seems sweet, but really can be a little shit if she's in the mood, Camilo gets it partly from her.
She has natural motherly instincts, although she struggles to conceive.
She works as a seamstress in the Encanto- having learned from her TĂa when she was younger, she's become really good at sewing and embroidery (she's the one to teach Mirabel when the time comes, as a way to try and cheer they young girl up and take her mind off things after she didn't get a gift) It becomes one of her ways of helping the Encanto just like every other madrigal, which she's quite content with, she genuinely enjoys the work (although shes prone to overworking herself- especially given she already has trouble sleeping)
She knows a lot about space and the stars too- when she was growing up she often saw the stars as her only true friend- more so after her father died (she believed he was watching over her- and would talk to the stars at night like she was talking to him). Due to this she gained a special interest in space and the stories behind stars and constellations, and to this day she still has her very first book she ever owned on the subject. It's another thing that is special to her.
Has an affinity for nature. Like I said she spent a good part of her childhood alone, so she would sit in the grass and watch bugs or explore - and she found a love for nature. Something she really loves is birdwatching- doing it enough over the years that she knows a good amount about different types of birds and their behaviors. She really likes to collect bird feathers- just any ones that she finds she'll take home- even in the current day. She still very much likes taking nature walks- taking any of the kids who want to come along.
BONUS: info on Goose <3
Goose was a hen from Armida's old farm. One who had trouble hatching and ended up imprinting on her. Goose, to put it lightly, was a mence (hence the name Goose.) She hated almost everyone but armida and would let it known. She especially hated Félix. She lived a good 24 or so years before dying shortly after antonio was born.
