A scene of mike sobbing. Like gasping for air, holding onto something so the hyperventilating doesn’t cause him to pass out type of sobbing. I want to see him clutching the shirt on his chest, balling it up in his fist as he tries to stifle the violent sobs escaping from him. Fallen to the floor, almost heaving because the cries are so physically tolling type of sob. I want him to cover his face for a second with both hands and tense as a sob surpasses, before wiping the tears off — but that won’t do any damage, because they will continuously fall the second the previous ones are wiped off type of sobbing.

That’s it.

If it will be true that Will has powers, Vecna must have been so pissed that this kid just ruined his “unspoiled realm”.

so El banished him to an unknown realm, where he found means to gather more superpowers,

a realm “unspoiled by mankind”. which we can assume he wants to do something similar with Hawkins and the World now that he has the gates open.

He created the Shadow monster of this energy cloud, but we don’t see if he changed anything else in the Upside down.

and then this kid gets taken in the Upside down, and we see it looks exactly like Hawkins, with buildings, electricity towers, etc.

Let me know how the bookbinding ge project goes! GE is one of those fics I really wanna bind :D

It actually really fun but a lot more work than youd expect. Every chapter has about 20 pages each so essentially my current process is:

• paste chapter into word and get rid of line breaks, fix errors i find and fix indent and paragraph break issues

• import word file into indesign and add all the elements from a template i made (chapter page, page numbers) and fix any issues that happened when converting the file over

• put all chapters into a book file

Im currently only about 16/40 chapters through it and im considering ending earlier cause im already about 250 pages in

Tubbo once had to call the Starbucks UK corporate office to explain to them that yes, Spider-Man does in fact need ten shots of espresso in his coffee order so that it’ll actually have an effect on him.

Ranboo often uses his very expensive microscope to look at plant cuttings for Phil.

Tubbo has a habit of accidentally hacking into the Tower of London’s security system when he’s trying to gain access to nearby buildings and it gives Tommy a heart attack every time.

Tubbo shows Spider-Man gadget prototypes to Ranboo first. He does this because if Ranboo approves of it, then he knows it’s actually practical.

Ranboo doesn’t understand how Shroud’s controls work, and the one time Tubbo had tried explaining it to him, he’d almost shot himself in the foot.

“Wil..” Kristin’s voice was shaky and horse on the other end. “Wil, it’s Tommy.” It was barely 9 in the goddamn morning and Wilbur’s world had shattered. “What?” He suddenly couldn’t feel. His entire body felt numb; a storm had just hit him, like a hurricane had run through the school but only he could feel it. “Wil… You need to come home. Ask-” Kristin took a shaky breath before continuing. “Ask Quackity to let you off and come home.” “Kristin.. What happened to Tommy?” Wilbur’s voice was barely a whisper but he knew she had heard him. “Mum?” He paused as he heard muffled voices on the other side of the phone. “He’s.. He didn’t come home last night... He.. went out and wasn’t back this morning. We think… Well no- Tommy’s- he’s missing,”

you know what, maybe this will be a regular thing if i can actually have coherent thoughts after a guided evolution update. are they coherent now? idk but they definitely are thoughts.

first off, hannah? we love when people check to make sure you're comfortable with stuff before they check over you. also, the thought that he told the team that he's spider-man? that was the main shocker to come from the beginning of this chapter. i also found it odd on her opinion on him at first. im not very good at the whole character analysis thing but, at first at least, she cared more about what this could mean for medicine than tommy's safety. she's reading all the files, and shrugging off ponk's comments about how they think something more's going on.

of course george is in the room, but she's also firm in her belief thats its not her business so she doesn't pry. at this point, shes probably only seen him briefly so she doesnt have any information on him - beside the stuff in the files - so you can't really blame her either. but she also doesn't question a lot for others privacy as she doesn't pry into why ponk took some convincing to get on board.

she also clearly thinks highly of dream. as readers, we know that dream is a sadistic bastard who we would gladly curb stomp if given the chance, but characters perspectives of him are different. We saw earlier with his interactions with phil and kristen that he's "kind" and a pretty chill and considerate boss for the most part and hannah notes that "dream's a nice guy and really shows it in the way he interacts with theseus". and again, hannah turns a blind eye to dream being a bit forceful with tommys wrist because it's not her business.

as the experiments go on, shes getting more and more concerned with how dream treats tommy but continues to push it down because who is she to doubt her boss when hes been nothing but kind to her? dream scolding tommy before the tests even begin, lying to him about the time of day, telling tommy off for shivering, telling hannah off for being careful to him and checking up on him, she chocks all this up to things being different in bio engineering compared to pharmacy.

reading povs where that character is in a form of ignorance is always so annoying yet interesting because we always know more than them. we see all these signs that she only half gets before brushing them off when we know things are VERY wrong right now. we know that tommy isn't "sick", we know that dream is automata and a prick, we know that tommy is in very real, and very serious danger while all the characters around him don't. not even tommy himself knows.

AND THEN OH BOY THE FUCKING SPIDER

i, do not like spiders. as much as i consume spider-man content (and a lot at that), spiders are and will always be, one of my least favourite things in the world. i can appreciate them, some of them are even.. cute? but the thought of one crawling on me? fuck no.

so let me tell you, when a giant spider starts crawling up this kids leg, his hand and then up to his neck? while he's blindfolded?

jesus. fucking. christ

i just want to know what everyone else thought about this. this kid is screaming in pain when it bites him. he indents the arms of the chair.

and even around this, tommy actually vaugely remembers when he was first bit, he remembers being underground. plus him "paranoia" when dream comforts him, is most definitely the sense trying to warn him. the sense is also probably the one reminds him that dream is hurting him, the one that tells him to go home, and the thing that feels satisfied once the room goes silent. who knew that even with his memory lost, tommy still doesn't fully trust the sense when it comes to people he trusts.

ponk clearly knows somethings up too, not just because of his comment to hannah. he watches tommy with a sad look in his eye, he also doesnt seem to fully trust dream either.

i just need everyone to communicate. so many characters are so close to putting all the pieces coming together: the family knows tommy's spider-man and that automata has him (and suspect hes alive), karl knows tommy's alive and that dream has him, ponk knows that dream isn't treating his "brother" right and that theseus is spider-man, quackity doesn't trust dream and (rightfully) thinks he's up to something, puffy knows that dream is her son and is a sociopath (and tubbo knows that guided evolution is connected to dreams company), jack and sneeg are investigating spider-mans identity as well as trying to dig into guided evolution, ranboo and the other sm fans are surely gonna notice spider-man being missing (especially if sapnap or quackity or anyone else start committing crimes and he doesnt show up), schlatt will surely use all of this again spider-man.

and yet after all of this, wilbur is yet to know that his brother is missing, or that he's been spider-man for the past 6 months or so

my acc is now just me talking about guided evolution. not that thats a bad thing but this fic continues to devour all of my waking thoughts.

i thought i'd try something new and share my thoughts and theories after the new chapter without just dropping threats in @fathermooshroom's asks. sorry not sorry about that by the way.

but holy shit??? being completely honest, the inbetween hadn't fully caught on for me yet, it was still surrounded in the whole mystery and you had to keep track of (until now really) a separate lore about the catalyst and the keeper. but this chapter really hit me like a truck

the fact that dream had revived eight and tortured him for a year?? out of character, no but out of fucking left field. that really just makes his character so much more heartbreaking bro. and he remembers none of it, and even for a little while we see him being an older brother figure for Nine and i would quite literally kill to protect those two.

tommy dies, sees karl and the inbetween, and his first thought is "fuck you karl, how could you not want to see me?". even after painfully dying to poison, the kids still got... he sure still has something. in all honesty though, my heart shattered as tommy forgot who he was. there was pure panic as he scrambled to remember before slipping between karls fingers and being revived.

literally my only thought is that he's alive again but doesn't remember who he is or anything thats happened and i just know dreams gonna have a field day. i see what you meant when youd always say "this isnt even the worst part >:)". scared for my boy's safety.

even eight commenting on how he slowly started to remember but only after months and months of torture. jesus christ we're in for it now.

karl tell your fiances about tommy challenge. knock on the watson's door and just drop the "dreams got your kid". or even drop subtle hints to quackity, thats not directly interfering, thats nudging him in the right direction. the right direction being kicking dreams ass and saving tommy.

i cant stop thinking about how quackity will reaact to finding out tommy's spider-man. tommy's arguably his favourite student and he's wanted to protect spider-man from dream for a while now so when he realises theyre the same person? MMMMM I JUST WANT MORE

still on my bs about wilbur too, my boy needs to know about how his brother is kidnapped and was also a superhero.

idk if this will continue to be a regular thing for chapters, but just know, your days are numbered if tommy suffers for months.

or maybe not because im a sucker for the hurt part of hurt/comfort

the dead don't dream - uncut!

this is a horror fic, but I could have made it worse.

This is the worse.

! CW: this will reference violence, self harm, and dehumanization. It will be non-graphic, but this is still horror.

So, things I considered but ultimately decided I could not write:

-sewing his lips shut! Dream threatened it, Tommy's words are his only weapon left, there would've been narrative weight to that and how it reflects Tommy's loss of identity, his spark, etc, but I Can't Write That.

-Dream blinding him in one eye to see if blindness carries over to limbo. Inspired by the au of Rozugold's protégé au, where Dream blinds Tommy in one eye. But in my au, the kid has suffered enough. It felt excessive. And I personally have issues with eye trauma so writing that would've been. Yikes.

-this one I Really considered, purely for the catharsis I had planned afterwards. In actual canon, Dream threatens to carve his name into Tommy's skin before rescue arrives, that was in reference to a much older plan I had, where when Tommy asks to see Tubbo, the two compasses would come up, and Dream snaps and carves your Tommy into Tommy's skin. Meaning Dream's Tommy. Healing him and carving it again until the scar is deep. Where the fuck is the catharsis you might ask? Well, I thought after Tommy was rescued, at some point Tommy is like "maybe this can be for you instead" to Tubbo, which he responds to with horror. There's no way he can fucking adopt the brand Dream put on Tommy, how the fuck can Tommy not see how wrong that is, etc. Eventually Tommy thinks of something else– he wants to add to the scar so it says "you're Tommy" but he needs Tubbo's help to do it. Tubbo refuses to take a knife to his best friend. Tommy hits a low point, feeling like the scar is keeping him tied to Dream, like it's still scratching deeper into him, and he does it himself. Tubbo finds him and heals him, he has no idea how to explain to Tommy that hurting himself like that isn't a fucking answer. It worked, though. No more ownership, You're Tommy. He is himself again. In its own fucked up way, that's progress.

Yeah. I got very close to including that one because I liked the potential aftermath, where even Tommy getting better has its own horror, but the thought of actually writing that stuff, nah. Can't.

-This one is on the line between "I cannot write that" and "I would've included it if I had time/it fit in the story naturally." So. In game, Lodestones are these big blocks that can't actually move, but a lot of folks sort of took the compass idea in fanfics to mean it follows the person not the lodestone. I would've sorta, combined those two ideas, where a lodestone can be tiny as long as the runes are correct, and, in a milder version, Tommy would've had a lodestone chained to his wrist so Dream could find him, in a less mild version, Dream would've basically chipped him. Cut Tommy open and put it next to his spine, so even if Tommy tried to have it removed it would paralyze him at best or kill him at worst. Yeah.

-That kind of ties into one I would've probably included if I'd found a place for it in the story. It comes up at the end, but the stasis chamber trap. If Dream had set that up sooner, it would've been, uh, maybe a little freeing for Tommy. The boy could live free range. If Dream was feeling kind. And Dream is rarely if ever feeling kind, so, the other thought would be Dream using it for his fucked up little games where he lets Tommy run in some random patch of wilderness to try and escape and Dream hunts him down. Sometimes he even gives Tommy armor, or an invis potion, or if he's feeling especially smug, tell him the direction of the nearest populated area of the SMP, even if it's definitely out of his reach. If Tommy actually manages to slip away (that kid is smart. He could probably do it sometimes) Dream just goes back to the base and teleports him back. The illusion of escape. For a while Tommy really tries because he thinks if he manages to find someone, anyone, he could tell them what's happening before he gets taken away again. He never does. Dream would never let him go anywhere near the mainlands. Eventually, Tommy realizes this and refuses to play the game. And Dream still wins, because he's basically trained Tommy to never try to run again.

Yeah. That's about it. This fic is dark, but hey, could've been worse am I right :D

I have a couple ideas for basically the bad ending where they don't get the coordinates to find Tommy, Dream gets to keep him and Wilbur, that type of deal, but I might write a few tragic crimeboys oneshots off of that. Hope this was, uh. Interesting? Idk. Some folks showed an interest in hearing these ideas, and maybe the ones I was on the fence about I'll fit into tragic au stuff. I'm keeping some stuff just for myself, but I don't mind spoiling au ideas if y'all wanna ask about it!
