How do I cultivate happiness?
We all want to be happy. But is becoming happier even possible? These five tips can show you how to get more joy and satisfaction out of life.
Find the positive in a negative event from your past. Even the most painful circumstances can teach us positive lessons.
Write a letter of gratitude. Think of someone who did something that changed your life for the better who you never properly thanked.
Count your blessings. Make it a habit to regularly reflect on the things you have to be thankful for.
Keep a gratitude journal. It may sound cheesy, but writing down the good things that happened to you during the day really works.
Give sincere thanks to others. When someone goes above and beyond or does something to make your day easier, be quick to verbalize your thanks and appreciation.

What's the best way to set and attain goals?
A goal is something you want to achieve. It’s the desired result that you, or a group of people, plan and commit to achieving.
Here are some of the many reasons why setting goals for yourself and your team is important.
It gives a sense of direction: Taking the time to think about what you want in life gives you a sense of purpose.
It helps to see the bigger picture: Setting goals helps us take a step back and get some perspective on what’s really important in life.
It provides motivation: By nature, consciously setting goals gives you something to aspire to. Having a specific goal will motivate you to put your best foot forward.
It gives you greater control of your future: Setting goals puts you in the driver’s seat of your life. Just by writing down goals, you are actively acknowledging what you want out of life.

Is goal setting essential to achieve success?
We all know that setting goals are important, but we often don’t realize how important they are as we continue to move through life. Setting goals helps trigger new behaviors, helps guide your focus, and helps you sustain that momentum in life.
Goals Help You Determine What You Want In Life: The act of setting goals forces you to contemplate what you truly want out of life.
You Achieve Even More: When you set a goal and reach it, it gives you the taste of victory. You will want to taste that again.
They Help You Beat Procrastination: Procrastination is something we all battle from time to time, myself included. However, when you set goals in life, specific goals for what you want to achieve, it helps you understand that procrastination is dangerous.
Goals Help You Stay Motivated: It’s easy to put off work until tomorrow when there is no goal on the line.
Goals Help You Measure Progress: Being able to keep track of your progress toward achieving a goal is only possible if you set one in the first place.
Goals Give You Focus: Without a goal, your efforts can become disjointed and often confusing.

Here are 06 of the most often-cited habits of successful people.
Networking: Successful people know the value of exchanging ideas with others through networking. They also know the value of collaboration and teamwork – all of which are likely when you network.
Positive Attitude: According to many successful people, having a positive attitude is not just a result of being successful – it’s one of the root causes of success.
Personal Care: Personal care with regard to diet, exercise, and hygiene comes next on the list of habits of those who are successful.
Taking Action: Third on the list of habits of successful people is the inevitable “action” habit. It is important to organize, plan, and set priorities, but without action, a plan is nothing more than potential.

What do you do when you are trying to combat discouragement in your pursuit of a goal?
All professionals have likely felt discouraged at some point in their careers. Experiencing highs and lows, wins and challenges is a normal part of any job.
06 Things to Do When You're Feeling Discouraged in Your Career.
Make a list: When you experience signs of discouragement, it can be helpful to make a list of factors that could be affecting you.
Find a new perspective: It can certainly feel disappointing or frustrating when you experience situations, outcomes, or challenges you don’t like or agree with.
Be proactive, not reactive: Waiting for acknowledgment or reward can be frustrating if you don’t feel like you’re actively moving forward.
Focus on the work, not the rewards: In addition to working towards specific goals like rewards or promotions, it’s important to find satisfaction and joy from the work itself.
Consider speaking with others: When you’re feeling discouraged, it can help to share your feelings and frustrations with a trusted coworker or friend.
Identify other influencing factors: When you’re feeling discouraged at work, it might also help to take inventory of other more general stressors in your life.

If you had to come up with a single metaphor for success, what would it be? Why?
A few of my favorite success metaphors are:
Success is a Beach in Mexico: This metaphor structure says that success is “…”. You can put whatever place you would envisage your successful vision of yourself right after that.
Success is a Poison Chalice: To call something a poisoned chalice is to say that it seems like something lovely (a chalice being a drinking goblet) only to realize once you’ve got it that it’s going to hurt you.
Success is a Mountain Summit: Imagine climbing a mountain for hours and hours with that goal in your mind of reaching the summit and looking down on the world with glee.
The Ladder to Success: We often analogize success to being a ladder. Each step along the rung is another step toward the prize at the top.
Success is a Unicorn: A unicorn is a mythical being. So to analogize it to success is to say that you’ll never be successful (or at least you feel like that is the case).

What's the point in pursuing/achieving your dreams and goals?
Everyone always says, “Follow your dreams!” But not everyone does it.
Life interjects bills pile up, and sometimes we have to do jobs we don’t want to do just to make it through the day. However, there are many reasons to follow your dreams, break the trend, and live the life you’ve always wanted.
Here we discuss 06 points in achieving your dreams.
They make life worth living: Your dreams are what can get you through even the worst days. If you are struggling, your dreams are your reason to keep going.
You’ll meet other dream seekers: When you are motivated and excited about pursuing your dreams, you’ll attract other people who have the same values and interests.
You can be an inspiration to others: If you decide to go and pursue your dreams, you will give hope to others who want to do the same.
You can provide for your family: When you are this motivated, it’s very hard to fail.
Working in a job you hate makes the days go slowly: Why should you work in a job you hate? You’ll count the clock, you won’t do as well, and you’ll dread waking up in the morning.
Because no one is going to follow them for you: Let’s face it: no one else is going to pursue your dreams for you.

How do I build unbreakable self-discipline fast?
06 Powerful Ways to Build Unbreakable Self-Discipline
“IF IT’S TO BE, IT’S UP TO ME.” — WILLIAM JOHNSON: No matter what your goals are in life, there is one great law that you need to obey in order to be successful:
THE BIG ENEMY OF SUCCESS: According to motivational speaker Brian Tracy, the biggest enemy to success is the path of least resistance.
OBSTACLES ARE PART OF SUCCESS: In life, nothing worth having comes easy. You have to make sacrifices in the form of time, effort, pain, and hard work if you want to succeed.
REWRITE YOUR GOALS EVERY DAY: To maximize your self-discipline every day, it is necessary that you keep the bigger picture in mind.
DECIDE IN ADVANCE THAT YOU WILL NEVER GIVE UP: To make sure that you stay strong in the face of adversity, make sure to resolve in advance how you will respond once it occurs.

What are the goals? Why are they important?
Setting a goal lets you focus on the next step and helps you move in the direction you want. The body follows the mind, so you need to stay focused and not lose motivation. Be always aware of why you should take specific actions and where they will lead you. Goals allow you to measure progress.
Importance of goals:
“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes.” – Andrew Carnegie.
When we are faced with difficult times as we are now with the effects of a worldwide pandemic, it is easy to get discouraged and lose hope.
goals + commitment = dreams come true
Hope is a vital component of human existence, and it is needed to find happiness and peace during times that might otherwise lead us to be discouraged.
As Andrew Carnegie so clearly pointed out, setting a goal can keep your thoughts focused, direct your energy, and inspire the hope that is needed to move through and beyond a moment of despair.

Why don't more people pursue their dreams?
Most of the reasons for not following one's dreams are based on fear; fear disguised as excuses is what usually holds us back. If you want big things out of life, you have to face your fears. Putting yourself out there is scary; a lot of people go far down the wrong path before even realizing that they have choices.
06 reasons why people don’t follow their dreams
Fear of Failure: It’s easy to rationalize and persuade ourselves into making “safe” decisions – which is often just a way of hiding that we’re too scared to take a risk on something. The fear is that we might fail.
Priorities: We all have people and things that take up our time: jobs, families, friends, hobbies. And these are great things to have in life – but they take time.
Lack of Confidence: It takes a lot of confidence to pursue a dream. Many people think they either don’t have what it takes, don’t deserve to be happy by following their dream, or aren’t willing to put in the work to make it happen.
Timing: A dream without a timeline is just a fantasy. How will you ever know when the time is right unless you make it happen? Putting off your dream until “someday” usually means that “someday” will never happen.
Society: We all desperately seek approval from friends, family, and colleagues. But the pressure to do what’s expected of us can sometimes keep us locked in a clearly defined box.
Fear of Change: “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.” Why is this? Fear of change. Most often, it’s easier to endure a known life of mediocrity than to risk going after a big dream.

Does failure always lead to success?
People in our society tend to view failure in a negative light. The most obvious example is in schools where students are discouraged from getting failing grades.
Failure keeps your ego in check: Research shows that the best leaders are humble leaders. Failure fosters humility, which is not only necessary for leadership but self-improvement.
Failure gives you a new perspective: It was Ellen DeGeneres who said, "It's failure that gives you the proper perspective on success." Every success comes with hundreds (perhaps thousands) of rejections, blunders, and defeats—all of which are just as important as the accomplishment itself.
Overcoming failure teaches resilience: It's not merely the act of failing that leads to career success. It's failing and then getting back up and trying again.
Failure teaches you what you want (and don’t want): There’s strong evidence that shows we actually learn more from our failures than our successes. While some people may know their passion from a young age, most people don’t.

How do I eliminate the fear to strive?
It is human nature to avoid emotions that scare us. Who wants to walk directly into what promises to be a painful experience? Except that by continually avoiding looking at the ‘boogeyman’ within, you become hostage to the monster.
Tips to Work Through Your Fear and Live Your Life
Allow yourself to sit with your fear for 2-3 minutes at a time. Breathe with it and say, “It’s okay. It feels lousy but emotions are like the ocean—the waves ebb and flow.”
Write down the things you are grateful for. Look at the list when you feel you’re in a bad place. Add to the list.
Remind yourself that your anxiety is a storehouse of wisdom. Write a letter, “Dear Anxiety, I am no longer intimidated by you. What can you teach me?”
Exercise. Exercise can refocus you (your mind can only focus on one thing at a time). Whether you go on a short walk, head to a boxing gym for an all-out sweat session, or turn on a 15-minute yoga video at home, exercise is good for you and it will ground you and help you feel more capable.
Use humor to deflate your worst fears. For instance, what are some ridiculous worst-case scenarios that might happen if you accept an invitation to deliver a speech to a crowd of 500 people?
Appreciate your courage. Doreen would tell herself during difficult times, “Every time I don’t allow fear to keep me from doing something that scares me, I am making myself stronger and less likely to let the next fear attack stop me.”
