Lore Bit 3
Written 12/6
Emet-Selch: "Behave yourself." Me: I'm not going to say it, but I'm thinking it.  ("Yes, daddy.")
The Fourteen will usually return to the star Returning to the star nourishes it - it is seen as a beautiful and beneficial act - and one to be earned
The irony - Hermes not understanding why someone else would want to end it all
Oreiai: Elpis spriggans... who are mischevious and will run off with concept crystals.  In other words, spriggans
Meteion hadn't seen a shoebill before. And either can't read its mind, or it doesn't have one to read.  GDI shoebill
Meteion communicates through emotions.  Minds translate the emotions into words they can understand... or concepts...
difference between living and arcane being: a soul - which manifests only to those whose forms adhere to the laws of creation and can endure on their own Elpis is a testing ground, but not so much for trials and tests, but to see which things can sustain themselves
Elpis Sprites are pneuma - drawn to aspected aether to feed the "beacons" in elpis help to maintain it; they sometimes shift aspects to suit the weather
lightning converger - a concept crystal any can use to summon ball lightning
Entelechies - entites that turn emotion into tangible phenomena The heartbloom is called Elpis as they originated there Dynamis- Ancient term for Akasa Meteion is first entelechy with free will Dynamis is weaker than aether and drowned out by it in normal circumstances -is what's going on because someone turned the dial up on Dynamis?  Maybe to preserve Meteion? Dynamis may be 68.3% of the universe's energy in existence - far more than aether by mass Meteion was created to travel the expanse due to the scarceness of aether beyond Etherys
Because we are thinner in aether relative to the ancients, we can use dynamis
Charybdis - ancient Sanuwa
Transformation - using aether to create a second body around oneself -but is seen as vainglorious and shameful - akin to stripping naked (that puts a whole new spin on Dying Gasp)
Grani was one of Hades' creations, his steed for flight -that... changes things.
Zeuxis is responsible for morbols, the bastard
Metion's power is similar to the Echo.  Is it possible that she was captured in Zodiark, and became woven into the new humanity?  But then how to we get it? What if... we don't?  What if Meteion is woven into the humans born of the second sacrifice, and then the "Echo" is us hearing THEM?
Kairos - a memory manipulation system Hermes believed all creatures should have their chance at life, until any method to rehabilitate them is fully exhausted
VENAT HELD THE SEAT OF AZEM BEFORE US?!?!? THE FUCK.  I'M COOL WITH IT.  BUT THE FUCK
So the blessing of Light IS what protects us from the corruption, but it is a WARD to prevent corruption - not something IN our aether
white robes (save Elidibus) mark you as a retired convocation member and advisor
Her own home... Corvos?
Venat: This tower and the one further along are both part of Peripeteia Krystalline, the facility where they archive all of Elpis's observational and testing records. Venat: Despite how they appear from the outside, the interior is actually a vast area of magically interconnected spaces, which...while fascinating, is not the reason we are here, is it?
Author Postscript
This is about the point where I got DC’d again, and with the hour decided it best to retire for the evening.
But.  I’m noting a few things that I didn’t get earlier.
First off: I’m thinking back to two things yesterday.  First, Ryne said she hadn’t ever spoken to Hydaelyn directly.  Yet, she seemed capable of channeling a primal similar to one with the Blessing - which I now must admit is the protection against the Primals (or... they say it is... but there’s still something odd there).  What’s going on there, I wonder?  For that matter, what’s the deal with Resonants being primal-proof - is the spell woven around the aether that much that it would be caught up?  Something still seems fishy in that.  But the other was Elidibus, saying we must return to this timeframe.  I think we misunderstood him.  I think that time CAN be changed - G’raha did so - but it doesn’t change the present.  Venat hinted at that as well.  I think we may have a timesplit here after all.  Then again, if Emet-selch uses Kairos to erase the memories from everyone involved, then who knows?
Next, Kairos again.  Memory manipulation.  It’s forbidden in Sharlayan usually.  It uses aether to blot out memories.  Something like it happened at Carteneau.  It falls under Pashtarot’s offices.  Something more is tied to this.
Third: Dragons are beings of GREAT aether.  But Midgardsormr flew all the way through the expanse - a realm of dynamis.  What’s the trick there?
Fourth: I’m suspecting more space shit.  I may be thinking too small in my predictions of Meracydia.  I’m wondering if that’s one stop, but the Dragonstar is another.
Fifth: Fandaniel and Emet-selch seem... different in both timelines.  Reversed from their past selves.  Fandaniel mourns all life as Hermes, but as Amon seeks to end it all.  Emet-selch seeks to honor the star in the past, and notes how different his future self is. What’s the deal?  Is it time?  Is E-S lying to himself?  Or is it more?  If Zodiark altered them... did that change their mindsets in some way?
Ugh... there’s so much more.  But the server issues and time conspire to delay my discoveries.

Lore Notes 2
Note on the Notes: This set contains a couple days worth, as I forgot to create a new document.
Reviewing the conversation with Hydaelyn - Zodiark is confirmed sundered Zodiark "Forestalled" the apocalypse -"an intertwining of your time and mine"
Something inside the core of the tower was consuming the aether - a man's arm
High Crucible of Al-khamiya
Midgardsormr came to the Source after the sundering Hydaelyn was Midgardsormr's "final bastion" - the last hope.  So long as Hydaelyn endured, so to he hoped would dragonkind
Even asleep, Midgardsormr is watching over the world Theory: Midgardsormr was ALWAYS Hydaelyn's back up plan.  That's why she's letting him use her to regenerate.
Vritra says we are a confluence of too many threads, and a storm that catches our friends.  But we will need them in the end
Akasa (pronounced Akasha) - unseen energy in Hannish Alchemical Theory -essence influence by feelings -distinct from aether - aether permeates the land and animals and objects, but akasa exists beyond our reach - either bestowed from on high or torn from the heavens -beyond our power to purposefully alter or manipulate - cannot be created or destroyed; only an "abundance of spiritual emotion" can influence it -this is what is harnessed when you exceed your limits on the battlefield (?!?)
I need the burger emote and the coffee one
Levitation spell was discovered in Noumenon
The forum are bound by an Enchantment that prevents them from speaking without permission -reminds me of Louisoix's spell - being unable to remember the Warriors of Light
Aether: Soul and Memory (incorporeal), matter (corporeal) -Corporeal is in flux, soul and memory are not YEP. -Sharlayan has a rule against memory manipulation Memory can be blotted out with an abundance of similar aether; this is used to prevent them from speaking on the topic, but can be reverse with 9/10 of the members, or upon death The blots on the souls are washed clean in the aetherial sea
Theory: Maybe Louisoix was taken to the Sea by hydaelyn, to free him of the lock
Water veins carry aether in the water, as aether currents do in air, and manifest in Spectral currents
Mysterious blue light 10 years ago
Garleans settled land 800 years ago
Radio is powered by something similar to the talismans, protects against tempering
Aetherytes in garlemald are designed to allow garlean usage -also generates power - possibly demonstrating theory about sancutary
Retired Magitek engineer mentioned a "flaxen haired man" who taught him of allagan tech - nero?
The Ascians needed him to be whole before they could free him
Six locks ont he moon, one for each element -"Brands" - giant swords driven into the ground
As long as Zodiark remains bound, no more sacrifices will be made in his name, nor will the souls inside be consigned to oblivion -OH.  Oh.  Oh fuck.
Hythlodaeus was one who gave his life
Fandaniel went full Kefka.  In all but name
Author note: written before the fight: The real final days will be from Zodiark's demise and the undoing of the laws Author note: written AFTER the fight: YEP
Hydaelyn sundered HERSELF
Power is a reflection of the creator.  Hydaelyn HAD to dedicate herself wholly to Zodiark's destruction
The moon is an ark
Theory: we're going to use the Crystal Tower to journey back to the start and avert the apocalypse before it begins Author note: this was noted somewhere on the moon still, before even the 85 quests and dungeon
The flower is "Elpis" - Hope
When a republic, Garlemald hired Roe mercs
- Author note: I managed to not take any notes from after the moon to the 85 dungeon, except this next.  Not all of what happened was highly impactful LORE wise, though there absolutely were some very impactful moments.  Also I may have just been stunned..
Theory - the reason why the modern occurrences are born of sentient beings and not creation magic is BECAUSE the sentient beings are the product of Zodiark's creation
Propylaion

Day One
Got through the Unlocking of the Tower of Zot - full spoilers
Hydaelyn mentions a promise made in another age, to be fulfilled when we truly understand what is at stake - a promise made to Azem? -what did Venat promise Azem?   Hydaelyn doesn't have to power to bring our minds to her any longer.
Forum factions Bibliotechs/teqs? - conservatives, want to remain isolated unnamed radical faction - Galuf, Louisoix - supported being more open however, forum vote to deny Eorzea assistance was unanimous of all 99 members
Alchemists in Radz-at-han are part of a different tradition than Ul'dah alchemists
Krile needs an "archon or two" to get access to more reading material - so she's NOT one?
Gleaners use an old currency - the gemstones are something older - a possible dividing point in history then?
Mischievous miqo'te mentions that a "Big Moony" would help her - was "so tall and smart."  Oh... now I made myself sad -she told the girl stories about a powerful wizard friend who could summon his own carbuncle - that's Urianger there.
Albright Manor: lord is a master astrologian, wanted a book on Ishgardian Astromancy by Janniquard
The Ecclesia was the democracy that existd prior to the Forum, elected Thaliak as patron
Thaliak is depicted as an elezen
Pathless Way - the archon "graduation ceremony."  Secret path inside the statue of Thaliak
Babbling book lover has been corresponding with a "Far Eastern contact" who swore by "Into the Yonder" (Honoroit's book).  Suigetsu?
Nyunkrepf was a student of astrology - divined the flood. -teleportation spell landed the ship in Abalathia's spine -Nyunkrepf left with his crew and passengers from his ship to build a new ship at the shore
Corvos: founded by the Allagans, miqo'te were subjugated and brought there as laborers -G'raha's ancestors remained when others left during the Fifth Umbral Era's Ice Age, to keep others from misusing the Allagan tech -Corvos is under Garlean rule, renamed Locus Amoenus -nearby town to his childhood home came under control of House Darnus, who had an interest in Allagan tech; G'raha was the last born with the Allagan Eye, so his family buried the Allagan tech and gave him to a friend in the Students of Baldesion to register him as a Sharlayan (Galuf)
Alphinaud's description confirms that there were "fledgling" souls after the Second Sacrifice
Gleaners collect rarities from around the world.  They've been very hectic of late - as if afraid of losing treasures.
Decision to expand Labyrinthos was made 4 days after Telophoroi declaration, but the plan would have needed to have been made much sooner - they chose to implement AFTER the announcement. -Had to do one of these a few summers back - i.e. 5 years ago or so.   **Theory** This is part of the next arc.  They are using the uncertainty caused by the Telophoroi as a cover.
Gleaner thinks they're migrating south - possibly Meracydia?
Labyrinthos was modeled on Corvos
Heartbloom: flower that responds to emotions, but they don't know how it does so.  low reproductive rate, hard to find younger populations in the wild -the pollen area looks like Hydaelyn's pupil
Sharlayan once was charged with a sacred duty, and now are trying to fulfill it
Hydaelyn ferried someone ELSE to the Aetherial Sea as well as Minfilia's soul - who else? **THEORY** Emet Selch
Society was reshaped to preserve knowledge, rather than knowledge being used to serve society, after a certain event, about 270 years ago -closest event: discovery of what would become the Antitower -when outraged, one of the Forum members became unable to speak -They're all tempred - that's the unanimity.
Montichaigne - head of the studium, friend of Louisoix
Fourchenault was a Sage in his days as a student
Fourchenault only became buried in his work WHEN the twins were born - the Journal Entry?
Moenbryda's parents work for the Confluence The nautilus Aetheryte is experimental - teleports individuals between two aetherytes that are pre-attuned to each other.
Thavnair has two kinds of gods: Manusya - beings of wisdom, forms of man - and Mrga - beings of might, form of beast -were at war, traded heads to understand the other; though now, Manusya are depicted with animal heads, and Mrga with human limbs -Mnga are gods of nature -the earliest Satrap formed a pact with a dragon "deity"
The Great Work is using Dragon Scales to nullify the tower.  Dragons CAN be tempered... but these come from the Dragon "ally" - Vritra most likely -as one of the First Brood, they may be immune to the effects -Daemir family founded the Great Work
The Au Ra came to Thavnair and joined the Arkadosha against the Gajarusa - the ones in the Steppe now The Satrap acts as mediator of disputes needed after hyur came in to area
Fandaniel rememberd someone else trying to do the talisman thing - "Oween" Fandaniel is, as ever, his own worst enemy
Theory: Varshahn is actually the Satrap
Khadga - the sword - the formation in the background of giantsgall - supposedly used by the Mayusa in their war
Supposedly, all others in Varshahn's position have gone to other nations to represent the satrap
Fandaniel's Patrons of Old Fandaniel is AMON?!?  And also isn't sure the memories of Fandaniel fit him right This Fandaniel first remembered being Amon, not Fandaniel Emet Selch had him send a clone to the tower in his stead
Varshahn is a simulacrum that houses one of Vritra's eyes.  Vritra is the true Satrap, hiding behind a puppet to avoid attracting attention
