Taehyun comes home after an exhausting day and catches you singing TXT's songs.

Taehyun is exhausted, practice ran late again (it had been that way for the last few weeks) and he hadn't seen you in days. As the lift ascends through the floors of your apartment building, all he can think of is taking a warm shower and then cuddling with you until he falls asleep. Thinking that you're probably already in bed, he fumbles in his pockets for the spare key you'd given him so that he could crash at your place whenever he wanted some time away from the madness that being an idol brought him. He loved his job, but sometimes it became too much and he craved peace, which he only seemed to get when you were around.

Unlike what he'd expected, he's greeted with soft music coming from somewhere in the apartment. He smiles when he recognizes it to be one of his songs. He would never say it out loud, but whenever he caught you listening to one of his songs, it warmed his heart. He pads along the hallway softly, not making too much noise so that he doesn't startle you.

"On a sunset evening, even in the night when the sky is dark // My heart is full of you," you sing while rearranging the books on your shelf. He leans against the door frame, drinking in the sight of you with a fond look on his face. It's the same look that causes his members to tease him to the ends of the earth.

He listens to you, slightly amused that you haven't realized he's right there. But he's not complaining, this is the first time he's heard you sing, as you're too shy to even hum in front of him because he's a professional singer and you're not exceptional. In his opinion though, you don't have to be, you may not be a trained artist, but there's just something so captivating about your voice that lulls him into a sense of peace, and all the exhaustion of the day melts away.

Taehyun lets out an inaudible laugh when the song changes to Good Boy Gone Bad, and you start doing a silly little dance. Unable to resist anymore, he pushes off the frame and walks up behind you, wrapping his arms around your shorter frame. A small squeak leaves you and you turn around with wide eyes, only to find your boyfriend smiling at you.

"Taehyun!" You pout, hitting his arm lightly, "you scared me!"

"Sorry, love," he says apologetically, placing a light kiss on the side of your neck. "I can't believe I've never heard you sing before. You could be an idol with that voice."

You scoff, turning around in his arms, "You're very biased."

"I might be biased, but I'm not lying when I say that you sing well."

You notice how exhausted he looks when he smiles down at you, so you step out of his embrace, much to his displeasure, and grab his hand. "C'mon, let's get you to bed."

"Will you sing me to sleep?" He looks at you hopefully.

"I can't say no when you're looking at me with those wide eyes of yours," you roll your eyes jokingly.

“okay! okay,” the boy rolled his eyes as he pinched the tip of your finger away. he let out a small laugh at the glance of your eyes that looked a little too similar to a kaleidoscope full of stars. “i got it. moles. so what?”

you gasped for the second time today. “what? don’t tell me you don’t know!”

he shrugged, grinning as he looked back at the television ahead of him in response to your defeat. “okay.”

but you were quick to behold his face in the palms of your hands as you averted his gaze back to yours. though sunoo was accustomed to this, what he never could have envisioned next was the second you pecked the moles of his face. one at his cheek. one at the bridge of his nose. and one near the arch of his eyebrow.

you pulled away, grinning even wider at the sight of sunoo’s cheeks deepening into a scarlet red.

he widened his eyes. “what- you- wh-“ and then he felt a soft plush of lips on his.

his shoulders dropped slowly as if they were anchored down to the floor of the ocean, followed by his hands that draped lazily along your back before finding grip of your waist. seconds later (with what felt like minutes), you both pulled away with a delighted sigh in elation. you ruffled his downy hair as you pushed his forehead against your’s, giggling. sunoo had nothing else to say - he didn’t even remember what he was going to say - until you spoke up first,

“they represent the places where your past lover has kissed you the most.” oh. now he does.

the boy scoffed. “that’s ridiculous.”

you frowned, averting your gaze back to the childhood cartoon that you and your boyfriend have been urging to reminisce on. “oka-“

but with the both of his hands was a subtle yet demanding touch - sunoo grabbed your face and pressed his lips against your’s once again. a few moments pass and he’s already pulled away, and this time, it was his turn to laugh at your frozen demeanor (unlike your heated face, ironically enough).

AGAINST ALL ODDS (IN THE HANDS OF HIS VACANCY), SUNGHOON’S COIN LANDED ON HEADS.

Jungwon groaned as the four of you made way towards the street of Jaehee’s house. “I have a swim meet tomorrow morning. And a lab exam. And a swim meet.” He spoke louder, making sure to emphasize the 'swim meet' with guilt-tripping intent. Suddenly, he frowned thinking. “Where even is Hyeongjun, anyway? How come he got out of this so easily?”

Hyeongjun? You knew better than to invite Han Hyeongjun (MBTI: INTJ. Major: Music Theory. Occupation: None. Because he wants to avoid any form of human contact as much as possible.) when he most likely put his phone face down on Do-Not-Disturb as soon as Hani texted the group about a massive party event of college socialites.

“Probably busy with some homework.” But you answered, anyway.

“Oh, and I had to come despite my first swim meet and lab exam of the fall semester?”

“Suck it up,” Sunghoon puffed out, his breath forming the shape of a cloud from the autumn fog as the corner of his lips pulled into a knowing smirk. “just like how I sucked y-”

“Sunghoon, if you mention my mom one more time.”

You and your best friend Hani were huddled together - arm in arm, hand in hand, and occasionally you'd step on one of the other's foot by how small the proximity of your legs were as they brushed together. You both share a glance before giggling at the boys’ quarrel, which earned a side-eye from Sunghoon himself.

The man raised his eyebrows at the sight of you both in amusement. (Is it really that cold? He probably wondered.) “Pussies.”

You scoff. “At least we get some.”

Somehow, it was easy for Sunghoon to get everyone in the same room to hate him at once.

By the time you and Sunghoon get down to arguing (followed by the meddlesome whining of Jungwon's in regard to the migraine he’s afflicted from you both, of course), the bright illuminance of the lampposts that stood tall before Jaehee's mansion grew more vivid by the second. Your friendly walk seemed to be coming to an end.

“Hey— did any of you come bearing gifts? ‘Cause I for sure didn’t bring anything.” Hani spoke up, ruining the heat of your guys’ debate, which was clearly not the utmost concern anymore. All three of you avert your gazes to the girl, all the more inflamed.

“You have got to be shitting us right now.”

On the other side of the mansion - parked in front of the car garage - Sim Jaeyun and Park Jongseong felt as if their asses were glued to the seats of their car. 

Jake’s fingers tapped uneasily against the window’s edge of the car door as Jay switched off the engine before pulling the keys out of the ignition. The younger bandmate held his breath the moment he saw Jay glower at him from the corner of his eye.

“Don’t mess this up, Sim.” The leader sighed, though he knew he was only emitting the pressure off to someone else so that he could feel less at fault, too. Yet, neither of the boys were feeling any better. “We’re not supposed to be here in the first place.”

He handed Jake a feathery ballroom mask with a dark blue that admirably matched his suited attire as its black-jeweled engravement was complemented by a touch of gold. Surprised that it didn't look like it came from the nearest Party City, Jake stared at the mask for a moment, calloused fingers gently tracing its rich modern beauty.

“I was able to sneak into the props room.” Jay spoke up, his leader antics putting him a step ahead of the question left unspoken. “Let’s hope they won’t need it in the next hour or so.”

Jake hummed in attentive response but was shortly caught off-guard as he heard the shrill of young adults making way towards the family residence before them. Unknowingly, his grip onto the mask tightened and his soft touch was prevailed by an evil of green.

He missed being that free.

“We really aren’t supposed to be here.” Jake muttered, throwing Jay off-guard this time at the sound of his own bandmate agreeing to no dispute at all. “Do you think she’ll be happy to see me?”

He glanced over at his hyung, vulnerability slowly melting the guard of Jay’s headstrong disposition (to which he’s made sure to curse himself for— having a sentimental weakness for his members).

“Dude, it’s Jaehee.” Jay scoffed before slapping a hand onto Jake’s shoulder in frustration. “Of course she will.”

A sudden buzz from the pocket of Jay’s pants startled their conversation to a halt. He took out his phone and glanced at the screen before quickly grabbing onto the door handle. “It’s Gunil. Him and the band are here. You got your phone with you?” Jake nodded in reply, waving his black iPhone 11 in display. “Good,” Jay hummed.

“Don’t lose it.”

the sky was dark, and the silvery moonlight washed yeonjun in a pretty, angelic glow. he was breathtaking, just sitting there on the couch, watching the flashing lights of the tv.

his empty plate sat in his lap, the blue frosting stained the paper and his pouty lips. you hummed quietly, and he turned to you, seeing your eyes already on him. 

you leaned into his face and softly pressed a kiss to his full lips. your tongue lightly dragged against the plushness, licking away the remaining blue. when you pulled back, he stared at you like you hung the moon and stars in the sky.

you smiled gently at him, and he blushed a sweet pink under your gaze. he averted his stare, eyes wide in his fluster. he let out a breath when you slid your hand into his, tugging him against your chest.

US AGAINST THE WORLD 🎸 profiles. natural born killers

Y/N L/N— COMPUTER SCIENCE MAJOR, YEAR 2. in pursuit of the big money-making career in cybersecurity. hates calculus. math in general. doesn’t mind socializing but is usually more of a reserved person. pinned out oddly specific places in every part of the globe (#1 on the bucket list: take on the world). former pianist who unfortunately quit due to their schoolwork and parents' wishes.

YANG JUNGWON— CONSERVATION BIOLOGY MAJOR, YEAR 1. y/n’s classmate in calculus and lifeline. (quite literally…) also hybe swim team’s baby captain. seems like he’s got it all under control when he’s literally studying to become a conservation biologist as he takes charge of the greatest swim team of all time and the natural born killers. emphasis on seems. likes to garden to calm himself down and breathe in the oxygen his plants give out.

MASAKI HANI— VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS MAJOR + FASHION DESIGN MINOR, YEAR 2. y/n’s first (and best!) friend since middle school when they first moved to seoul. watches jay of hypen compilations three times a day like it’s her meal. is the reason why the group hates jay of hypen. and hypen overall. avid cottage garden fairy. very experimental with fashion. practically raised to the music by her father who used lead a rock band himself. cannot strum a guitar to save her life.

PARK SUNGHOON— BUSINESS MAJOR + FASHION DESIGN MINOR, YEAR 2. also y/n’s best friend since middle school! (tends to quarrel with hani a lot on who's the best.) well-known freelance model and campus prince. feels like he’s only part of the group to give them free rides (which partially: is true). also works at the boba cafe down hybe university. hides it like it’s his second identity. you can pay him a visit on monday’s. and wednesday’s. and friday’s.

HAN HYEONGJUN— MUSIC THEORY MAJOR, YEAR 2. met y/n in pre-calc before switching majors (engineering -> music theory). quite new to the group considering last summer he stepped foot in hybe university for the first time- only to be dragged towards y/n’s lunch table by the devil themself. pretty quiet for someone who shreds his guitar on the maximum. literally just. opened his twitter account two days ago.

A JAKE SIM SMAU . . . exhausted from the masquerade you and your friends chanced upon last night, the only memory you recall was meeting a boy who matched the color of your mask, psyche, and phone a little too perfectly for him to be just a one-time stranger. ˚ ༘ ꩜‽

i guess i’m back :0..? (officially, i hope! there will be some times where i won’t be online due to family and uni reasons, but officially, i hope 💗) and i hope you all have been taking care!! you better have or else >:(

i’d like to sincerely thank you all for being so so patient with me and supporting my works while i was gone. i’ll admit this year hasn’t been the best for me, but coming back here to see that people were still reading my works gives me a fresh newfound hope and motivation. i really hope i’ll stick around for you guys this time :,) thank you again!!

i’ve prepared many new updates for us against the world, so it’ll take off starting tomorrow! i’m also still reconstructing not mine hotline, but i do have updates to be released as soon as i’m done fixing the first few chapters. schedules are yet to be arranged. and of course, taglists are with open arms <3 please send me an ask or pm if you would like to join!!
