if you want to actually start to end homelessness, you need to give homeless people unconditional homes, including when we use them to do drugs or sit around drinking. either housing is unconditional or it isn’t
someone sitting at home alone, an active alcoholic, squandering your charity, drinking all day is better situation than a street homeless alcoholic. someone using drugs in your charity house is better than them doing the same w no shelter
most of you would not like most street homeless people, I definitely don’t and didn’t when I was street homeless. for every one person who uses unconditional shelter to turn themselves around, someone else will do jack shit and very slowly, if ever, work through the issues that made them homeless, will maybe never be able to live independently. still better than street homelessness, still worth doing. ultimately either you believe that shelter should be universal or you don’t
homeless people actually can’t be rehabilitated if you want to end homelessness. we either affirm the right to shelter for the worst drunken, lying, filthy, cheating, self destructive homeless people that exist, genuinely irredeemable wankers, or we concede that shelter is not a right

"everyone should care about accessibility because most people will become disabled at some point in their life" is a logical argument and I understand its popularity
however, everyone should care about accessibility because disabled people are fellow human beings living in the same society as you who deserve the same rights as you
thank you good night

why don't they make prebuilt sheds you can buy online that are multistory and circular with a conical roof. why can't i buy a wizard tower. for my backyard. home depot should sell it in a bundle with the skeleton. they're missing out on valuable wizard dollars. they're like regular dollars but covered in glitter and weed smell.

I fucking hate that the general response to RFK Jr's eugenist take on autistic people is "autistic people do pay taxes, autistic people do work, autistic people do date!"
Some autistic people don't and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life. Some autistic people do need constant help and support and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life.
Once again we're falling in the right wing trap of :
They make a hateful, fascist statement
Instead of focusing on the fact that it is hateful and fascist we try to show them that they are factually wrong
We throw our own allies and the most vulnerable of us under the bus in the process
We legitimise an only slightly less hateful, fascist view as we go
They have completed their goal of making us accept the still hateful, fascist second version, hurrah. What a victory.
Right now what we're getting to with that is that autistic people who can work and pay taxes are okay, and the others aren't. Fuck this shit.
Same thing happens with the people who are being deported ("they have a visa!", "they didn't even have a criminal record!" -> even if they didn't have a visa, even if they did have a criminal record, deporting them and detaining them in what's essentially a concentration camp wouldn't be okay, you absolute tools of fascism.)

Fuck it -- God bless the rural queers. God bless every dyke, faggot and tranny who lives in a town with less than 10k. God bless every queer living in red towns in red counties, in blue states or red states alike. God bless every queer who's also a redneck, who knows how to hunt and fish. God bless every queer living in a town where every other house is condemned. Where half the storefronts are empty.
God bless rural queers.

Yeah, what y’all know about um, getting your kung fu nunchuck panda on in the parking lot of the local food lion? Get it, my man, he out here doing it. Yeah, that’s right. I’m 58, 63 years old, out here on the side of my pickup truck in the food lion, and I’ll whup a fool upside his head. I’m out here practicing, getting ready for Easter Sunday. Jesus gon’ rise up, I’mma whup the devil. Right out here in the parking lot. Pickup truck, radio playing. Sunglasses, ain’t no sun. It’s cloudy, overcast, but I’m out here with my gloves and my nunchucks. One man, one lord, one faith, one baptism, two nunchucks up in the air like Mary Lou Retton, pow! Behind the back. Bust your finger, that hurt, uh huh, yep, yep, shake it off homie, shake it off, shake it off. Yep, tore that finger UP. Yeaaaaaaah buddy, time to call it quits. Look like the devil won this round, folks. Gon’ have to get back in the car, get me a band aid, shake it off, shake it off.
