You were having a staring contest, Mark with his mouth agape and you with silent tears still rolling down your face. You weren’t sure what you were waiting on, but you kept staring at him. Maybe if you looked long enough he’d see the pain he’s been putting you through. 

Breaking eye contact you started pulling the shower current back closed, telling him, “I’m about to get out the shower”, as you did so. He could tell what you were trying to say. Please get out. He knew that lately you two haven’t been very close, but right now he felt so distant You’ve never asked him to step out the bathroom while you were getting out. 

Deep in his thoughts, he barely noticed the shower stop. It wasn’t until you poked your head out again with an expectant look, when your red eye landed on him it was like something pinched his heart. All he could do was silently turn around, walk out, and wait for you to get out.

It was a long 10 minutes, he patiently waited as you walked out wrapped in your towel to grab your clothes, and he waited while you changed in the bathroom. Trying his best to ignore the fact that you didn’t even want to change in front of him anymore. By the time you stepped out the bathroom, you had composed yourself. He could tell you watched your face, you were literally glowing. 

He wanted to wait for you to speak up first. He watched as you awkwardly walked around the room, in your pajama’s and fluffy sock, looking for something to occupy yourself with. He couldn’t take it anymore, before he could stop himself he was already talking. “Baby you have to talk to me, please tell me what’s wrong”. 

You wanted to scoff, how could he not know what’s wrong when he’s the reason something is wrong in the first place. But you kept it in, deciding to just keep quiet as you in the middle of the room with your lips pouted and arms crossed. Seeing that you weren’t going to answer he kept talking, this time seemingly pleading with you as he stood up to meet you where you stood. 

Each step he took toward you, you took an even larger one back. You ignored the way he winced each time you stepped away from him, but that didn’t stop him from trying to get closer to you. By the time your back was against the wall and he was in front of you, his voice was shaking. Still begging for you to give just a sliver of hope that the two of you would be okay. 

He called your name, voice soft and broken, asking you to look at him.

“Y/N….” his voice trailed off. 

At this point you were sick of everything, and maybe that’s why he was trying so hard. Maybe that’s why he was currently looking at you with his big doe eye that were currently glossed, that’s why he had his hands on your waist in a tight grip scared that if he let you go you’d walk out, and maybe that’s why when he said his ‘I’m sorry’s’ they had a different tone to them.

he peered over at you, admiring the prettiest smile he’s grown fond of. “thanks.” he shyly noticed your bare neck and the lack of clothing on your body. he darted between the window that frosted from the snow and your clueless figure. 

“you didn’t bring yours?” he gently questioned, growing with concern. he was already unwrapping his own from his shoulders.

you shook your head, “i was in such a rush today. i didn’t realize the heavy snowfall until i stepped outside. seeing yours makes me wish i had brought mine.” you sighed, continuing with the revision of your notes.

ravenclaw!jaemin unknowingly began swaddling his scarf around your exposed skin and you gasped at his gesture. “jaemin, i can’t! these are your colors.”

“i’d rather you be wearing my colors, then having you freeze to death.” his warm scarf encapsulated your body, melting away chills you had been feeling from weather. 

he blinked at the blue that now hugged your neck, suddenly feeling heat reach his cheeks. he looked away, not being able to stand the marvelous image of you in his colors. even though his pride despised every other house to exist, his heart could never get enough of you, the clumsy hufflepuff who he clumsily fell for.
