they’re the clear frontrunner, i don’t see this going any other way tbh. if it’s not them i’d say it could be dead outlaw

i think this will carry over but wouldn’t be surprised to see a death becomes her or even an operation mincemeat win here. ultimately i think the heartwarming romance will give them the edge

i see a lot of people saying this is closer than book and musical, and i see the point but to me the originality and beauty in this score is unmatched. i would LOVE to see a dead outlaw win here though, and it’s the only one i see coming close in appeal to tony voters

i honestly thought tom francis was more in the convo of potential winners, but i’m seeing much more hype for a jonathan groff. both him and darren would be super deserving, i’m predicting darren out of personal taste but i think jonathan groff might take it.

i literally can’t with this category, any of these women would have won any other year in the past 20. i’d be especially elated to see jasmine take it, but audra is taking on such an iconic role and adding a new vocal performance. it’s hers

one of the other locks for me. first time i listened to dear bill i BAWLED and that was just the recording, i can’t imagine the atmosphere in the theatre. i think this will be the only mincemeat win of the night, but it’s a deserved one

so close with jamie lloyd, but the voters are american, and they’re voting for potential touring/regional productions too, and michael is beloved and jamie is so polarising… i think michael has an edge

i think it should be boop! but the industry isn’t too keen on it apart from jasmine, and they love buena vista… could see it going either way tho

Grantaire moved to Berlin five years ago. He's happy, he gets to be a painter, he has a group of friends whom he adores, he's a well-adjusted adult living his dream life. The best part is, he still keeps in touch with all the Amis. They visit regularly and call often, they didn't stop being a presence in his life just because he's not in Paris anymore.

There is only one person that hasn't visited. For years, it formed a hole in his chest. After some time, he realised he may never fill that hole, but that maybe that was okay, that he could let bad things happen to him and not get stuck in misery. That he didn’t have to let life happen to him just because of the boy he fell in love with at 18.

So when he saw the text at the top of his phone screen he had to steel himself on the pavement and rub at his eyes to make sure he was seeing right. He didn’t feel like the lovestruck 18 year old he was when they met, or even like the hurt and resentful 23 year old he was when he left. He just felt the cold breeze, and half-stared at his phone.

I think the great thing about seeing Enjolras as the personification of Revolution is that as logical and cruel as he can be, he is still caring, he doesn't enjoy violence, he's capable of so much empathy and forgiveness...

If revolution were to be a person, I think it's so beautiful to think of them as compassionate.

Maybe Happy Ending is a lock for a win from me. It's a beautiful piece of theatre, it has a great story with coming back from almost closing basically just on the back of word of mouth AND it's an original musical - voters should love it. Super deserved, my fave this season. I also see them nominating Just in Time over Buena Vista Social Club.

I've seen people say it's not the strongest score year - I think all scores are just very subdued and in service of the story so none stand out immediately. Maybe Happy Ending should take as carry-over from the Best Musical tony, imo it is also the most deserving, original and unique - jazz and fireflies!!! what's not to love!!!!

ALSO nominate Helen or else,,, she is SO deserving and brings so much warmth and complexity to the robot, her voice is stunning and it would be a great push to her career... I see so many people snubbing her it makes me so sad.

However, this would solidify Tom Francis as 'The Next Big Thing' which is where I see it going and I don't think the Tonys would pass up the opportunity of being the first American media awards to recognize him.

One of the locks of the season, anything other than Jak Malone walking away with a Tony is a crazy snub. He is FANTASTIC and Operation Mincemeat is such a great show. I am (as far as I read) the only person betting on a Dez Duron nomination, but he is the princess track of the season that score stands on his beautiful vocal chords and he should be honored for that.

That's it! Design awards are always so difficult without seeing every show so I've decided not to include them. This has been such a great season of theatre, I love Broadway we are so lucky to see such talented performers and creators.

It felt as if years of work on himself had all led up to this moment. It was so important, so gentle, Enjolras’ responding gesture in feigned annoyance so precious to him. Maybe he would’ve said, all that time ago, that his whole world was resting on his lap; he’d grown older now, he understood that had been an unfair devotion that not even Enjolras could live up to, but he still would do anything for him to be a part of his world, forever.
