My headcanon is that the bishops like met when they were adults (i still like the the idea that Shamura took them in and raised them). And when Shamura first saw Narinder they immedatly fell inlove with him. They then got married a week later because Narinder didn't understand the concept of marrige very well and thought it was for friends(Shamura took adventage of that) ,cause i always imagen that Narinder was just sorta born/created in the afterlife and never learned about mortal culture and stuff besides from lost souls that wanderd around there(they didn't like him). The first time he was in contact with mortal stuff was when he met the the bishops and there for left the afterlife(not forever of cours).

But after he found what marrige really was he was fine with and didn't complain much since he loved Shamura too(he didn't know it yet).
