Wasn't in the path of totality, but did manage to see the eclipse and capture the elusive diamond ring. Yay, Me! :)

Seen on a beach in Kauai: My best guess is that it's the cartilage skeletal remains of a rare ray or skate. Does anyone have a good guess on a species ID? I like to have accurate editorial scientific captions for my photos.

I must just thoroughly enjoy the simple life. I spent a week by myself in an oceanfront condo in Cancun last month, and with the exception of two meals on my last day there, I'm delighted with the fact that I never needed to or wanted to go out to eat. Instead I made fabulous breakfasts and dinners on $60 USD worth of groceries that lasted me the entire week.

What should you photograph? How about... anything you find visually interesting. [Photo] - Here I I happened to be laying down in the driver seat of my truck at a campsite this weekend and I kept noticing the view out the passenger window with the reflection of the trees in the mirror. After five or six instances of thinking to myself I really liked what I was seeing, namely the divergent straight lines framed in an oval, I finally grabbed my cellphone (#S6) and took a picture. (at New Brighton State Beach)

It was a mostly gray and stormy week that I spent in Cancun, Mexico, but that didn't stop me from enjoying a few minutes at the beach here and there. (at Playa Chac-Mol)

Yesterday I said Hasta la Vista to Cancun Mexico after spending a week there while my son and his friend enjoyed their High School graduation celebration trip. This popular sign normally has a line of 50-60 people deep, unless it's between 1:00 - 5:30 AM. #visitcancun (at En Playa Delfines)

Wow, first time I've seen one of these on a local restaurant- figures it's Subway. I boycotted them after one store wanted to charge me extra for putting more than three pieces of olives on a 6" sandwich. 3 slices isn't even a single whole olive, and they wanted extra $$$$? (File under: "take that profit margin and..." you know the rest.)
