My favourite characters are Amelia, Serge, Luca and Klaus!

Primarily, I prefer Klaus/Serge as my main WH ship, but also really like platonic group dynamics - super interested in pre-canon Klaus, Randy and Serge as a friendship trio and very interested in Elias, Yukiya & Luca interaction. Liz interacting with more female characters in the academy haha. Or Amelia centric concepts which look at her relationship with Liz/her perspective on events.

I also am interested in deepdiving the links between Klaus, Serge & Azusa pre and post SoU. Hope this helps a little!

Such a great and thoughtful view! I agree, there hasn't been anything from Solmare which I've liked quite as much - or which I still think about; as much as I enjoyed Guard Me Sherlock, it didn't have the same hook as Wizardess for some reason, and unfortunately I appear to be in the minority about disliking Obey Me 😭 I do agree that WH, for all that it certainly had roots in trying to capitalise on HP just had soul - and solid stories besides! I could go for ages talking about each season’s routes and characters honestly, and despite the vaguely rough and ready nature of the writing in some cases it felt there was such sincerity to it.

I agree the characterisation was a bit off (forever sad we didn’t get MORE interaction with Amelia, and the only other female characters our age were Elias’ fanclub who were...not nice (and on a meta level, not a good message about how to think about relationships with other women), and you know my opinion on Azusa as a love interest haha). Conversely, although I liked (and appreciated) the growth of Liz as an MC in consecutive seasons (I loved the Joel route in S3!), I felt the plot dropped off post S6 but as you say, there’s such a large amount of content to enjoy! A critique I’d definitely have about the game is that there’s so much existing lore to unpack which never gets fully explored or expanded. 

I’m so jealous you got to play early WH! It sounds really fun, it is a big shame that Solmare realised that probably wasn’t a lucrative way to make money :( 

When I was younger, I used to play otome games, which were and continue to be hilarious for their absurdity e.g. getting transported back to the Warring States period and romancing Oda Nobunaga et al. I’d play these with my friends because of the bad storylines, and frankly questionable love interests and we’d spend all our time literally breaking down how bad these stories were, like jfc please actually do something, protagonist. Also in no way feel obligated to read this because this is just…word vomit for my own personal reference haha. Honestly don’t read this. Maybe one day I’ll turn this into some kind of actual essay about the impact on these games on wider culture or something (after I write about why romance in AOT is fine and everyone’s just reading it wrong and actually Isayama is peak romance writer and should write a massive Mills & Boon franchise around uh…some characters). But anyway.
