Hiii I was wondering how one goes about doing neck needle play. That area seems very fragile, and I'm not interested in needle play there myself, but I always wondered how in the hell you do that

for sure! it requires a very studied and foundational knowledge of anatomy and applied practice. i’ve continued to achieve this by repeatedly taking classes on anatomy specifically centered around the neck & face (where most of my extreme edge play has occurred), being play pierced in these areas by both licensed APP piercers and very experienced edge players (i’m fortunate to have made these connections), then taking what i’ve learned from those classes and friends/piercers and applying it to my own solo practice & play. imo, practice does not make perfect but it does make you better and better! this is an intensely risk-aware activity.

something else that allows me to do what i do is my exceptional skin elasticity in my neck! my skin is very easy to pinch and pull away from the body (we call this “tenting” the skin, which can be done with the fingers or with piercing clamps, like slotted penningtons). this manipulation pulls the skin away from internal structures, separates it from the facia, and allows for an easier and safer time working needles through. i personally do not pierce my own neck without tenting the skin first, and everyone else who has pierced my neck has done the same. this makes it possible to get large gauges through more safely as well. i once was able to talk my friend @maybemalkaa through throwing 1 10g and 2 8g needles in my neck using this technique and they did so great (you can see the results on either of our blogs). they used just their fingers. a few months later, i was able to successfully throw a 6g through my neck using clamps (this result & aftermath is also on my blog)!

long winded answer but it felt necessary to do your question justice! thank you so much for asking :) it bears noting that i have learned a LOT from piercing my neck over and over, been surprised, been unprepared, and adjusted my “risk budget” accordingly with each new bit of knowledge i gather from serious edge play like this. all in all, a super realistic and achievable activity. due diligence is required to educate oneself on how to accomplish this as safely and controlled as possible. hope this helped your curiosity despite not wanting to dip in yourself!

band camp is nice for finding artists but nothing beats the ol Google drive invite link and venmo address. fuck a corporation just give artists money. if you like something someone made, and you didn't pay any money for that thing, fix that. put dollars in artists' hands so they can pay rent and buy like guitar strings or those white monster energies with the embossed cans or cbd vape juice or whatever they want. hit them up on Instagram or send them an email or to go their show if they're local and put real usable currency directly into their hands or band accounts. thank you for your time.
