(Ennis wanders into the house, clutching bags full to the brim of things that he knows that Kali likes) Food would be nice wouldn't it? Would you like chicken chili tonight?

Has anyone
gone grocery shopping in the past few days? The cabinets look so barren, and I don’t fancy myself a mustard sandwich.

Ennis shifted, unsure. He didn't hear a jump in Ethan's heartbeat yet he still found it hard to believe. "Alright," he said since that was the only word that came to his mind. A smirk flickered onto his face as he leaned back, one hand going to stroke Ethan's hair ."Of course Deucalion knows. He has sources all over town. Surely he would notice Hale's mate mooning over Aiden."

"Yeah." He nodded tiredly and smiled. “I mean it." He kissed the corner of the man’s mouth and then he was tired enough to just lay there and close his eyes. “That kid is such a spaz. Don’t know why Aiden is so….taken with him." He opened one eye to look at Ennis. “Do you think Deucalion knows?"

"And he's still on the phone with that boy," Ennis noted, a fond smile on his face. "He threw a rock at my window first. It was oddly amusing." Ennis placed a reassuring hand on Ethan's waist as he was drawn into a kiss and he complied, shifting his position to accommodate him. "Ditto?" he repeated stupidly, eyes closing before he met his lips to Ethan's own once more. He kissed him for a good solid moment before pulling away. "Do you mean it?"
I Would Give You The World||Ethennis
He heard Aiden walk by, the board creaking slightly beneath the older twin’s weight, Ethan sighed. “His midnight orange juice run. I don’t know why…" Ethan shrugged. He curled into Ennis and returned the kiss on his mouth with a bit more fervor, avoiding an actual answer. He intertwined their legs and pressed completely to Ennis, hands coming up to draw through his hair. He pulled back a tick, “Ditto."

"Exactly, you are Ethan," Ennis wasn't so sure if he could get the point across so he just shut up. And he wasn't disappointed when Ethan didn't say it back because he knew that the younger man never would. Ennis was pretty sure that this wasn't how a relationship wasn't supposed to go. But since this was his life, it had to go this way or things wouldn't be right in the universe. Of fucking course. "And why is that," he asked before leaning forward to press a kiss to Ethan's forehead, trapping their hands between them.
I Would Give You The World||Ethennis
"Yeah. That’s Aiden’s genre of affection," Ethan smiled genuinely for the first time since coming in the room. “I’m Ethan," He repeated it his thoughts trying to decipher the coded meaning and failing. He grunted and sunk back down into the bed. face burying into his pillow. “I wish we could go back in time, Ennis." His fingers danced with his gently. He was too antsy to go to sleep but too tired to get up and now that Ennis was here, he wondered if he’d indulge him in literal pillow talk.

If Ethan hadn't had such a firm grip on Ennis' hand, Ennis was pretty sure that he would have flailed off of his bed. He was supposed to be sleeping. This was not supposed to happen. Ethan was never supposed to know. "How do I love you?" he put on a witty grin. "Let me count the ways-- Oh wait, that's a Shakespeare thing, isn't it? I just... I do. You're kind, you care for people, you are Ethan." He doesn't quite know how to explain it. He just knows that he loves all of the little quirks that the younger man has. He loves how Ethan's face slackens serenely when he sleeps, he loves the faces that Ethan can make, he just... He's only been in love quite before but Ennis is sure that it didn't feel anything like this.
He doesn't know if that is a good or a bad thing yet.
I Would Give You The World||Ethennis
His heart skipped a beat.
No. Not Ennis’. Ethan’s. The words took him off guard and he opened his eyes, focusing on the man. The night was stretching on and he knew he should have just pretended to sleep but Ethan wanted to know. He wanted the answers from Ennis. He leaned up on his elbow with a tilt of his head. “How?" He kept a firm grip on Ennis’ hand.

Ennis let out a large breath as Ethan jumped into the bed. "You are a horrible human being for that," he told him, matter-of-a-factly before reaching out to stroke Ethan's hair out of his eyes. "Good night." He waits until Ethan's breathing has evened out and the boy appears to be asleep before he whispers so low that the only people that could possibly hear him are himself and Ethan; "I love you."
I Would Give You The World||Ethennis
Ethan went to the drawer and fished out a pair of his sweatpants, changing in the room cause the man had already seen everything so why not? He lifted the shirt off from over his head because the nights may have been cold but he was always warm. He jumped in bed, literally, messing up Ennis’ nice job of fixing the blankets. He shimmied beneath the covers and turned on his side, tentatively linking their hands together. “Night."

Ennis understood. He understood everything which was why he did not kick the boy out. He did not say mean things or feel the urge to ask them where they stood. He knew where they stood. Ethan stood away from him except for times like this. Raking a hand through his hair, he fixed the sheets to his bed before sliding under them and then he eyed Ethan up and down. "You are still wearing jeans," he stated, raising an eyebrow. "There are some sweatpants of yours in that drawer." Even though they lived directly across from each other, Ethan had left some of his belongings in Ennis' room and Ennis had cleared out a drawer of his own things so Ethan could put them there.
Curling up on his side, he waited for Ethan to get into his bed. He, uh, life had been so difficult lately. He didn't know where Isolde was. He didn't know whether their pack was whole because somehow things with Ethan still felt awkward and he wasn't sure if he even meant something to the younger man. But there was right here and there was right now. So that had to count for something, right?
I Would Give You The World||Ethennis
"I uh…Aiden has been a little high strung since the human left and our confrontation with Deucalion. He sneaks out and all that so I come in here cause…" he really didn’t have a reason so he let it drop off, eyes drawn to the messy bed. He probably could’ve done more to hide it but he wanted Ennis to know he was there. Wanted him to notice.
Ennis asked the right question and Ethan looked at him, the answer in his eyes.
Ethan nodded. Because that’s all he could do. Because he felt like everything outside this room was falling apart and all he had to do was step outside and he’d know exactly where he stood and it wouldn’t be with them. It’d be somewhere where things were broken and ugly. Somewhere misshapen and cold…but here. Here with Ennis. He could lie to himself and Ennis would let him. Ennis would hold him while he did. Cause Ennis loved him and Ethan, well Ethan loved him too but those words couldn’t be rendered from him.

Ennis made a sound of disagreement. "You are like his sons," he said quietly. "He was devastated. The pack was falling apart and well... Deuce is known for making rash decisions when things go bad around him. Just give him time, alright?" His eyes finally locked with Ethan's and he chewed on the inside of his cheek as he glanced towards his unmade bed and then looked back at Ethan. "Have you... have you been sleeping in here?" It was just for confirmation, of course. Ennis could smell Ethan's scent everywhere. It was almost overpowering but quite nice.
He busied himself with taking his phone out and putting it on his charger and when Ethan stood, he looked up hesitantly. "Would you..." he paused to chew on his lip. "Would you like to stay in here tonight? I can hear Aiden on the phone with Stiles and... you'd rather be in here, right?" He doesn't say with me. Because that is implied in the way that he is holding himself.
I Would Give You The World||Ethennis
Ethan took to the chair next to the chest of drawers, yawning sleepily. “Hmm. Well, don’t expect that to be in effect anymore. Deucalion barely let us back into the pack," Ethan chuckled and leaned his head back against the wall, “It’ll be shit missions from now on, probably." His fingers tapped against the arm of the chair nervously. The bed was unmade, because Ethan had taken to sleeping there while Ennis was away.
He clucked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, “I’m pretty sure Deucalion would have preferred if we stayed gone." He grinned, “Cause too much trouble and all." When his foot began tapping against the floor, he knew he was done sitting. He stood. “So, I guess I just wanted to check on you."

"I expect it to be sometime between when hell freezes over and pigs fly," he shrugged, fingers deftly un knotting his tie as he turns to face his younger paramour. "So it can't happen too soon." Ennis wasn't going to go to him first. He wasn't going to swoon like a maiden in a romance novel because he was too... old for that. Too experienced, he supposed. And besides, he liked it better when things went his way. That was why he was a Burger King guy.
"It was good," Ennis entered the bathroom and changed into his pajama- not elaborating until after he had emerged, hair wet and eyes bright. "The women were inviting, the men were serious, and the business was boring. You know, the usual. I still think that Duke shows favoritism and sends you on the best missions. China is not quite as fun as it used to be."
I Would Give You The World||Ethennis
Ethan rolled his eyes and knocked once against the door frame before shutting the world out and closing Ennis and him in the room. “I hope you don’t expect that to happen soon." Ethan had left Aiden to play The Last of Us and talk to his drunken affair without disturbance. They had heard him pull up, Aiden was the first to comment on it of course because Ethan sure as hell wasn’t going to admit that he had been listening for him since he left. Now he was here and Ethan was still standing by the door, the silence ticking by seconds.
"How was your trip?"

I Would Give You The World||Ethennis
"I'm back," Ennis called as he entered the Alpha Pack's house, throwing his briefcase onto the sofa to be picked up later. The Irishman had been sent on business and while he had been thrilled to get away from the unlucky town for a while, he hadn't really been thrilled about leaving everyone. Because even though Ennis didn't fight, he still thought that he could protect everyone.
Once he was greeted with silence, the man realized that no one was going to come rushing to greet him and that was fine. He knew Kali was busy mourning, knew that Duke was one massive ball of stress, knew that Jenna was at school, knew that Braggins was being Braggins. He didn't know where the twins were though... some part of him couldn't help but think that they had left. Trudging up the stairs, he entered his room and began to remove his suit, already dreaming of sweatpants when someone opened the door.
"One day," he said casually, back still turned. "You'll learn how to knock."

"It's not like you need to go in the first place," Ennis mused as he squeezed Ethan's hand. "We can do that. You're in the middle though, if that's alright?" Moving over to the bed, he waited for Ethan to get in before sliding in himself and curling an arm over both of their frames. "Good night, boys."

"Yeah. Going to have to ask Calligraphy for some doctor notes from the way Aiden has been ditching class," he looked over at his brother fondly. He wouldn’t say it outright but he appreciated his twin for not asking questions when he wanted to leave. Ethan walked over to Ennis, hand covering his. “I just want to sleep."

"What is it," Ennis paused in his sentence as he grabbed the suit jacket that he had hung up on the doorknob and tossed it back into his bedroom, watching as it fell on the floor. "With you people and face planting onto soft surfaces? I'm worried about the state of your faces." His words fell on deaf ears though and Ennis grinned. He paused, uncertain as to what he was supposed to do.
"Are you going to get back into the normal routine of things?" He asked Ethan, fingers still clutching the doorknob.

When Ennis left, Aiden came to stand beside Ethan, his mouth was centimeters from his ear as he half whispered. Ethan nodded his head, eyes flicking to the door as he swallowed. “Yeah. I got it." His brother smiled at him and then he was back to shoving the bags of their other stuff under the made beds. Ennis returning words caused them both to pause. Aiden flopped on the bed, back turned to the entryway. “It’ll suck if we aren’t," the older twin managed to yawn out before faking sleep like he had been practicing from birth.
Ethan nodded once."Hope so."

"Oh," His hands stilled in the motion of folding one of Ethan's shirts and he shook his head before continuing. He finished with the pile of clothes in silence. "I'm going to change into pajamas and check to make everyone is in the house," Ennis said before disappearing from the room. He made his rounds before changing into his night clothes before returning to the bedroom. He stood in the doorway, watching them work for a moment. "We'll be alright, you know."
Not Wisely But Too Well // Open
They didn’t answer that for awhile. Not until the second bed was on it’s way to being made. Aiden was going to let Ethan answer that one. Ethan picked around at their bags, putting their clothes back in the drawers and on hangers.
"Family." Ethan shrugged and started on Aiden’s clothes.

Greyson was dead. And nobody was the same after the events that had occurred. "You don't know that, Kali," he comforted. Ennis had never been good at the comforting other people thing. But he tried. "We... this place sucks. I don't even really have anything other to say. I think we should all leave. Find an island somewhere. Build a house there and when it's time, send everyone off to college. Rest, relax, stay the fuck out of Mystic Falls."

Using his one available hand that wasn't with Ethan, he removed his suit jacket and hung it on the door knob, scoffing as Aiden spoke. "Maybe we should buy you some paintings and call you a hipster."
Ennis didn't mind the increased contact. It was actually rather enjoyable and instead, he just squeezed Ethan's shoulder before beginning to help Aiden with the beds. He didn't want to ask but he just had to-- "What made you turn around?"
Not Wisely But Too Well // Open
"It’s whatever, man. Everyone is strung," Aiden shrugged looking at how stark the room looked. “Kinda like it like this. Very minimalistic."
"Let’s just unpack," Ethan rolled his eyes, keeping close to Ennis. More like leaning very heavily against Ennis because his legs seemed to have lost functioning.
"I think you need to sleep." Aiden looked at Ennis and nodded at him before getting to work on assembling the beds.

Ennis dropped the dustpan and the broom, immediately curling his arms around the younger man. "You never have to apologise. Ever and neither does Aiden," he said, running a hand through Ethan's hair. "I was... It terrified me. Now come on." He didn't mention the conversation that had occurred minutes ago that Ethan had overheard. "I believe that we have beds to reassemble and things to unpack." He kept an arm over Ethan's shoulder as he lead him upstairs and then leaned against the door of the room that the twins shared.
"Aiden... I apologize."
Not Wisely But Too Well // Open
Ethan stood up, moving in front of Ennis. He pressed his hands to his chest, fingers curling into his shirt. The same motions as Aiden but gentler. “I’m sorry, Ennis." He let go, smoothing out the wrinkles he made in the shirt. Aiden came in, at a loss for words. He looked from Ennis and then to Ethan turned around and walked back out. He grabbed his and Ethan’s stuff and went upstairs. He didn’t unpack. He wouldn’t until they got the okay from Deucalion.
