Even if Apollo does stop wearing Clay's jacket at the end of Dual Destinies, I can definitely see him keeping it around as a sort of comfort object.

Even if it's now inevitably tied to his memories of that immensely dramatic week, it was something that (I believe) Clay gave to him, something that Clay trusted him to keep safe - even if it was a bit tattered, and not exactly fit for uniform use anymore. And now Clay was gone, but the jacket still remained.

Apollo knows it's a bit silly, but he feels like he needs to know where the jacket is at all times, and starts to panic at even the briefest thought of losing it. Maybe it isn't a great idea to base so much of one's emotional stability on an object, but he can't help it. Clay left such a hole within him, that he's desperate to fill it with anything.
