I love when a Vulcan hits you with a 🤨. It just seems deeply engrained in them. Just comes from deep in their katra, the 🤨. I’m glad to see they hold on to that culture.

Showing my boyfriend “Amok Time” for the very first time. In the scene in the turbo lift where Spock is asking Bones and Kirk to accompany him to Vulcan, because they are his closest friends, my boyfriend (in all his wisdom) said , “Oh! To shake the bed for him?”

spock gets blinded in operation annihilate, and during the examination immediately after, mccoy verbalizes everything he's doing, and when he reaches out to touch spock's face, spock finds himself reaching out and taking mccoy's hands in his (as spock has so often done when mccoy was injured), and simply holding them, in the darkness, in his lap. even with his shields he can feel mccoy's guilt and his determination and his deep and abiding affection, and it's in rare moments like this that spock wishes, futilely, that mccoy could sense spock's emotions as well, could feel his relief to be free of pain, the gratitude he has for the man before him, his own determination to see this through. but mccoy can't sense it, and spock can't will himself to speak it, so they just stay there for a long while, spock holding mccoy's hands hostage, mccoy bleeding guilt and tangled love and still that fierce determination to help. he is helping, spock thinks, but still doesn't say. mccoy stays silent, too. neither of them stirs until chapel comes in to check on them, and it's only then that mccoy moves to pull his hands free.
only then that spock lets him go.

I love the hug scene from City on the Edge of Forever where McCoy hugs Jim and then Spock pries an arm off him to shake his hand because in Vulcan context Spock just started making out with him stupid style

The best Roddenberry invention was the skant. Of course it was the most attacked at the time, which was unambiguously homo/transphobia. He looked everyone asking "why do the women have to wear skirts in space? Isn't that sexist" dead in the eye and said: men wear skirts in space too
