This painting is a reminder to allow yourself to bloom in your own way and time, without comparing yourself to others. It's so easy to fall into the trap of comparing or competing, which can lead to feelings of not being enough or being inferior.
Each bloom in this piece has its own rhythm, its own colour, its own way of taking up space—just like us. May we all find the courage to bloom in our own way, without comparison, without hesitation.
“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” — Zen Shin

a chance encounter
[ID: A digital painting of a deer in a forest. Small purple, blue, pink, and white wildflowers are in the grass, and ivy and lichen creep up the tree trunks. The deer is in profile, turning to look at the viewer; a large white and gold halo sits between his antlers, which casts light all around him. There are mushrooms growing on his antlers, and flowers and leaves sprout from his fur. One eye has a glowing white pupil.]

When we are fearful, we tend to contract our bodies, our minds and our hearts. It's a natural and understandable response we have in order to protect ourselves. But times like these call for us to open and expand our hearts and minds beyond ourselves and our comfort zone.
I named this painting "Heart Chakra Expansion" as the heart chakra is often portrayed as a green jewel of light, like an emerald.
I love this quote: “The mark of a wild heart is living out the paradox of love in our lives. It's the ability to be tough and tender, excited and scared, brave and afraid -- all in the same moment. It's showing up in our vulnerability and our courage, being both fierce and kind.” ― Brené Brown, Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone

Happy Aromantic Awareness Week!
This week is Aromantic Awareness Week! 💚
Aromanticism is a spectrum, and for those of us who identify as aro, romantic attraction doesn’t define our relationships or sense of fulfillment. Love comes in so many forms—friendship, community, creativity, passion for life—and they’re all just as real and meaningful.
If you’re aro, questioning, or just learning about it, you’re valid, you belong, and your experiences matter. 💚
