Hate how I can't even say "girl, let him rest" when ppl try to argue that Wesker absolutely 100% has to be the hooded man in RE9 because where is he resting? Hell?

I think one of the biggest problems I've noticed with theories about who the hooded man in the trailer is is that no one seems to really try to justify why that character would care about Grace. The only thing we (kind of) know about him is that he's probably tied to Grace and/or Alyssa in some way, that he may have had something to do with Alyssas death, and that he probably wants Graces blood.
Why would Ethan Winters the mold ghost give a shit about the child of a Raccoon City Survivor? What would make her special to him? What does this woman that he has never met before and doesn't know have that makes her so unique that he just had to kidnap her? What does he get out of her? Out of her blood?
What would Mother Miranda get out of her? Does her blood or DNA have magic powers that can bring dead people back or something?
What would Wesker get out of her if he was still alive? Would her blood somehow reawaken Uroboros after it was probably cooked out of him in that volcano??
What would Leon get out of her? What reason would he have to kidnap her? What makes her special to him?
What's the point? What is the story here? What reason would capcom have to bring these characters back like this? All I see is just "the raincoat kind of looks like this outfit my favourite character wore in this one scene here. See? It looks exactly the same when you squint a lot and ignore the colour and a few details completely" and similar stuff. Almost no one tries to come up with possible reasons why their fave would give a shit about the Ashcrofts, why they would matter to them at all.
"I know now that you're the one that I've been searching for. The special one. The chosen one." Why does the person that you think is the hooded man care about a survivor of the Raccoon City outbreak and recipient of the Daylight Vaccine? Why would they care about her daughter? What makes either of them so special, so unique that someone would search for them and refer to one of them as the chosen one?

New RE9 Stills & Info

It seems like there are some of the stills intended to come out with the press junket, but I found them floating around a tad early. RE9 will also be BOTH 1st person and 3rd person perspectives-- you can switch between the two. People who attended the SGF event were given an exclusive, closed-door 30 minute demo. From there, we learned that the demo has apparently featured Grace exploring some era, flipping light switches and opening doors. She's attacked by a monster which rips a bite out of her shoulder (seemingly her injury featured in the trailer) but she is healed due to an injection. The injections seem to replace the healing spray in the game. The developer also said there would be a 2nd playable character who had a lot of weapons-- we know from previous leaks that this will be Leon.
I'll continue to cover this as I can but info is coming out and it's already 1 AM for me, so I may be asleep by the time everything drops. It seems the press junket is covering "camera perspective, mechanics, setting, boss fight, and more" so we might actually be getting a lot more info than I thought we were.

I've realised that there's a worse idea than "what if capcom kills my favourite character in 9". It's "what if capcom chickened out of killing one of their core characters because they were scared of backlash so they introduced a new character to kill her off instead, dragging down the quality of the story tremendously because its almost impossible to introduce a new character and then kill them off in a way that doesnt seem cheap and boring"

Im starting to think that if the whole "i know now that you're the one that I've been searching for. The special one. The chosen one" thing is actually said to Grace (or to Alyssa in a flashback) then the whole Hotel thing was probably planned and Grace was intentionally sent there. Like some higher up (probably not her direct superior because he seems to care for her but someone higher up the chain) made sure that this would happen and that she would get trapped there (which makes me think of umbrella obviously, alyssa was a survivor after all)
I have no idea what could possibly lead to Leon returning to mega trauma apocalypse town but I guess we'll see
no because it's actually pretty diabolical of grace's superior to ask that she goes to wrenwood hotel, where her mother died.
just like it's pretty diabolical to ask either leon, chris, jill, or carlos to go back to raccooon city.
what the helly is going on here

I just remembered the newspaper article we can find in re7, the one written by Alyssa, and now I have to wonder... that's a local paper, right? Did she live in Louisiana with Grace and it was pure coincidence that she ended up so close to Eveline? Or was she dragging her kid along while she investigated the Connections/the remnants of Umbella? Is the Wrenwood Hotel connected to all of that? Is that what's happening there, and what Grace is supposed to investigate now?
