A mini iZombie fic I’ve been working on, and have decided to post a small piece. Let me know what you think! Btw, OC is Amélie Lambert, daughter of Enzo Lambert (don’t know why, just felt like doing this).

All’s Well That Ends Well

Alive and Well-

Major had just finished his speech, and injected himself with the cure. A stupid mistake in her father’s opinion. Her father stood, Commander Lambert raising his pistol at the rouge, which was her signal to plug her ears and turn around. He may be a barbarian in his people’s eyes, but he would never let his daughter see him that way. His eyes going red, she turned away, silencing herself from the world around her. After a few seconds, she turned, a blur running past and pouncing on Enzo. She rushed over, her dad’s soldiers holding her back. A shadow moved in the corner of the room as the medical examiner laughed. She spotted his hand reaching for his back pocket. With seconds left before borrowed time, she lunged and grabbed Major’s gun, firing at the mystery person. He stumbled, then raised his gun a bit more, only to be met by a quick shot to the head, courtesy of Lt. Amy Beret, a recent recruit from Major’s team. Enzo got up, rushing quickly behind his soldiers, grabbing his daughter’s hand as he ran for cover.

“Are you hurt?” He asked, scanning her for any signs of injury; she may be a zombie, but she was still a child.

“I’m okay. Dad, you’re human again.”

“There’s no proof of that.” He insisted, crossing his arms.

“Dad, I-“

She was cut off as the soldiers escorted them to back up vehicles, taking them back to the headquarters of Fillmore-Graves.

“Grab your stuff, we’re going to a safe house.”

“Where?”

He looked over at her, worry quickly hidden by a hard gaze.

“Can’t risk telling you now, you’ll see when we get there.”

“Okay.”

The twelve year old sighed, walking through the doors and into her father’s office. Removing a disguised panel, she pulled out a bag, fully stocked with two days worth of brains, water, clothing, first aid, and emergency flares.

Her father walked over from where he had been, duffle slung over his back. He put his hand around her shoulders, pulling her towards him.

“We’ll be safe, mon papillon.”

“You said that last time.”

He leaned down, eye level with her.

“I mean it. No one is going to hurt you.”
