          to what lengths would she go to stop him? he knew she had a manipulative heart, but was he aware of the side she showed when she wasn’t pushing herself into his hair? all he could see was a woman whose actions were merely held back because of her job. eona had the ability to turn him back to the officials, and possibly even worse. rgb needed to watch his language…

          did she just say what he thought? not the hope bit (he’s heard things of similar caliber more times than he could count on his hands), but penn. is she truly sinking so low as to bring his personal life into this? he knew that he wasn’t a particularly nice man; the word compassion used against him felt bitter, but unfortunately, she wasn’t wrong. perhaps he could have let out a few chuckles if her words hadn’t felt like a strike to the face. fists clenching at his sides, he was quite visibly and audibly disturbed by her claims.

  ❛ wrong.  when  you  bring an  indebted thing  like  that     into your heart, you open  many doors in your “ work “     that leave no barriers between it and her. everything is     fair  game  when the  UNIVERSE is on the  line,  and  i     believe you know that better than anyone else.

     No hesitation this time. Not a calm, brief silence, only a      short, punctuated sigh and the swift continuation of her      soon-to-be threats.

   ❛ penelope   forest   came into my office several   years   ago,      drunkenly   demanding   things we both knew i   could   not      give    to    her.   she physically  assaulted one of   my   paid      workers, and then  MYSELF.  the  encounter was brief, and      she  gave in rather quickly. i  let her off easy, but not  before      i    got   an   earful   of   her   history.   INDEBTED   is  .  .  an      understatement,  to  say  the  least.  rgb,  let’s  be  honest.  i      could threaten you with the authorities, the end of my sword,      or even eradication itself,  but you will find a way to continue      to   make   the   mess you’re making,  regardless.   you’re   a      determined   fellow, and as much as i respect that,  i   cannot      have it.

   ❛ continue   on   your path that will   lead to the creation   of   two      enormous timelines that i do not have the ability to control, and      possibly the destruction of myself,  and i will have several of my      men  find whom the defect  owes her EXISTENCE to, and i  will      make  them aware of her home. i have names, multiverses,  and      specifications of these demonic  entities, and i know far too well      what  their plans are for your little FREAK. so, please, take  time       in   your consideration of the matter. take a week, and do   think       long and   hard about this. is    your ridiculous   plan really worth       penelope’s life?
