            ‘  i’m sorry, was that too forward?  ’     he certainly hadn’t meant to embarrass her, but the words simply flow by themselves when they need to be heard. he sits down on the desk besides her, watching her with a fondness he can’t hide.     ‘  but it wasn’t a lie; i think this class is a little brighter with you here. i’m sure you’ll make even more people happy once you become a pro.  ’

           Approaching his classmate, Kiyoshi noticed they had their headphones on. So like a normal person, he simply stood there, staring at the other until they noticed. “ Hello, Toudou, what are you listening to? ”

            it’s unbecoming of a hero in training, perhaps, to lose themselves in thought and music notes to drown out the rest of the world with, and even more so to be forced to swallow a yelp of fright when noticing someone you had no idea was there. 

            ‘  yoshi—  ’     he laughs airily, trying to gather himself by taking off his headphones to occupy his jittery hands.    ‘  you gave me a scare...! have you been there long? sorry, i didn’t see you there.  ’

     “ I am always ready for these kinds of things ” Spoken excitedly as she pulled makeup bag from her backpack.

            as was he! like a mirrored image, he unveils his own tools; certainly, this was not a hobby he ever thought he’d find a partner for. 

            ‘  do you use acrylic nails? i’ve always wanted to try doing art on them!  ’

she's gonna sit on his desk, pulling out here phone and trapping both of them in a quick snapshot-- ' awh, you look so sleepy!! '

            the idle tapping of his pen against the inked pages of his notebook is interrupted by the abrupt shutter of a camera, and toudou instinctively sits up straight, surprised. 

            ‘  miwa?  ’     amusement replaces the brief shock, and he playfully pushes her with his elbow.     ‘  not fair, you didn’t give me a heads-up! let’s take another one.  ’

            ‘  so? how does it taste?  ’     the cupcakes in his container were ridiculously decorated, the over-the-top kind one would only find in a children’s birthday party — and that’s exactly what they were the prototypes for.     ‘  i tried switching the frosting for cool whip to give it a fresher taste. did i get it right?  ’
