ranking names for merlin that i have read in fics (based purely on how they sound, not their historical/mythological accuracy)
nobody asked for this but that's the beauty of the internet
Merlin Hunithson - i love love LOVE that it takes his mothers name instead of his fathers name, and fics where merlin is a mama's boy and is so devoted to hunith are my lifeline so yeah im biased towards this name
Merlin Wyllt - actually used to not like this one but it's grown on me significantly. its crisp and also gives foresty vibes which feels right
Merlin Emrys - definitely the most common one i've read, but its giving "saying chai tea is just saying tea tea" sorry hot take i know
Merlin Ambrose/Ambrosius - idk why but i hate the word ambrose, maybe its because i played wizard 101, maybe its because i do NOT like the colors that word populates in my brain, but i am a certified Ambrose Hater
absolutely no hate to anyone who chooses to use any of these names in their fics!

With this month being Jewish Heritage Month & with pride coming up next month, i decided now would be a good time to update my shop (: These designs, along with several other Yiddish & Jewish designs, are available right now as buttons, stickers, and more!
I also plan to make another batch of these later this week with more identities, so keep an eye out ;)

That fic you wrote?
The one about the ship no one else cares about, or the deeply unpopular character, or the extremely unusual AU?
The fic that got no comments or kudos when you posted it?
Months or years from now, that fic might be exactly what someone is looking for in the sea of fics about all the popular characters, ships, and AUs.
Your fic might be the only fic out there that has what someone is looking for. The only fic that scratches the itch that it turns out you and that reader share.
And that's awesome.

I think part of what makes disability activism vs ableism so tricky for most people is that most of it requires intersectionality and nuance. It's relatively easy and unproblematic to add captions to a video and put a wheelchair ramp out in front of a building. But how are you going to make a space accessible for "incompatible" disabilities (person w loud verbal tics and a person w a panic response to sudden sounds)? How do we make schooling in general work? How do we talk about the eugenics issue with prenatal gene selection/testing while honoring bodily autonomy? How can we ensure safety and consent for sexually active intellectually disabled people?
But considering that people have coopted disability activism to defend their anti-intellectualism, or complain about plastic straws sometimes not being available unless you ask, idk if we're ever going to get started on shit that actually matters
