pro sports are so fucked up bc so much isn't truly in your control you can be so fucking good so talented so determined and ready and then your body will fail you and all you can do is try to come back from it and a lot of the time you can't and it's fucking devastating bc what could you have done to prevent it? what can you do if your body can't keep up with what you know you're technically and mentally able to do after training all your life to reach such a high level? what can you do when you know what your body needs to do and you train it to be strong but it just can't stay healthy? it's tragic
