Sheep Review!

Hello mailboxers! Today I will be reviewing sheep.

If you disagree with my opinions well that is up to you I guess.

Sheep number one!

Fantastic use of form. This individual is filled with joy and energy and probably all of its sheepy organs! High quality specimen. Its boundless whimsy is something any man should aspire to replicate. 10/10 sheep no notes.

Sheep number two!

Rotund specimen simple to enjoy and great for any occasion. Very squishy. Does not have a soul which may be a dealbreaker for some! 8.2/10 sheep.

Sheep number three!

Very receptive to affection. Much to love about the creature… it has many friends in the background so we know this sheep is well socialized. Well loved individual! Fantastic sight! It gets a 10/10 also

Sheep number four!

No concept of personal space. As relatable as this is I’m afraid this means I will have to dock points. because I said so. 4.926/10 sheep please do better next time.

Sheep number five!

oh by the aether above they are approaching in droves. 9/10

Sheep number six!

? This is not a sheep. Why is it here. 2.3/10 because it does not meet parameters. Tango if this is yours please retrieve it posthaste!

Sheep number seven!

Agile thing… but why did it do that? Is it stupid? 7/10 sheep unwanted behavior but it was funny so it gets points. And it is also fluffy!

No option for disliking Sheep Review because I do not need that sort of negativity in my life.

So my problem with most ‘get to know your character’ questioneers is that they’re full of questions that just aren’t that important (what color eyes do they have) too hard to answer right away (what is their greatest fear) or are just impossible to answer (what is their favorite movie.)  Like no one has one single favorite movie. And even if they do the answer changes.

If I’m doing this exercise, I want 7-10 questions to get the character feeling real in my head. So I thought I’d share the ones that get me (and my students) good results: 

What is the character’s go-to drink order? (this one gets into how do they like to be publicly perceived, because there is always some level of theatricality to ordering drinks at a bar/resturant)

What is their grooming routine? (how do they treat themselves in private)

What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go? (Gets you thinking about socio-economic class, values, and how they spend their leisure time)

Do they have any scars or tattoos? (good way to get into literal backstory) 

What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances? (Good way to get some *emotional* backstory in.) 

Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? (This one might be a me thing, because I LOVE writing/reading about family dynamics, but knowing what kinds of things were ‘normal’ for them growing up is important.)

Describe the shoes they’re wearing. (This is a big catch all, gets into money, taste, practicality, level of wear, level of repair, literally what kind of shoes they require to live their life.)

Describe the place where they sleep. (ie what does their safe space look like. How much (or how little) care / decoration / personal touch goes into it.)

What is their favorite holiday? (How do they relate to their culture/outside world. Also fun is least favorite holiday.) 

What objects do they always carry around with them? (What do they need for their normal, day-to-day routine? What does ‘normal’ even look like for them.)

I think it's so hard for me to play characters because my personality constantly bleeds into the character. Example, Erebos was supposed to be mysterious, use a lot of bigger words, and not know much about players.. but then it interacted with someone and suddenly I cant keep my actual personality out of its actions.

Page and Cate however are better because Page is the more.. "human" one of the two, and she very much cares about others' feelings and emotions. Cate.. is the opposite, they constantly tease and berate the others that interact with them. And it's very easy to play then because.. honestly, Cate is just all of my hatred for ppl I know irl, but toned down a LOT cuz as much as Cate is a dick, I don't like the idea of the mailbox mods that don't know me much thinking I'M a dick. (Even if it's obvious I'm playing a character)

Suddenly opening an eye, its form basically snaps back into how it normally is.

It mutters, remaking the void layer. It took a minute, manipulating void without touching it being harder than usual

Relaxing, it loses some control of its void. Body slowly forming into a blob as the edges wisps away ((idk if that's the word))

Which includes the void currently on redacted's back, turning into a less solid form.

Spotting a really good feather, it holds its hand near the root, pulling the feather out and quickly replacing it with feather-shaped void. Taking the extra void it makes into a necklace, adding the feather on the end
