Here's just a quick flip through of one of the books to demonstrate how they work! I really like this idea and think that I'll make more of these little books in the future!

Here are some photos of my printed books, and I think that they turned out well, and I will be happy to share them with whoever will want one! I had a little bit of trouble with the printers, with the ink not printing the exact colours that I needed, but I think that I've gotten it to a point that I'm happy with!

Here is my final layout in Illustrator for this foldable zine portfolio. I fixed the titles and put a secondary title on the cover alongside my name in that grunge-style font. Ian suggested to me that I should make the zine reversible into a poster so that the viewer could see some of the art on a slightly larger scale, and I entirely agree and think that this would make the experience much cooler. I've made multiple different variations with different art prints on the back of the page that people could hang as posters when they're done with the book. This will be a very cool addition that will make the experience of the book feel more complete.

Here is a version of my foldable zine that I have laid out in Illustrator. I printed this one out and tested the folding method, and it works great and makes a really cute little book! The titles for the paintings are in a very grunge-style font, and when printed out, it's not as legible as I would like, so I am going to have to change it to a font that will work better at this scale. I think that this font could possibly work well as a secondary title font because I want to fill a bit more of the white space underneath my name on the cover, maybe with a phrase like "2025 portfolio" or "mini portfolio" or something like that.

I made a quick little mood board to organize some page ideas that I had visually. I really like the clean art book aesthetic and also the ephemeral quality of the zine and how I can reproduce the book many times. I think that it might be neat to combine these two ideas into one little book! I'm going to start playing around with images and text in Illustrator to see what I come up with. I've also been watching some YouTube videos and researching zines and how they're made and the layout that you have to use to fold them properly.

Here are a few ideas that I had for my portfolio. I think it would be a really cool idea to have a zine that people could take with them and that I could print many copies of. Very ephemeral. I also think that it would be a good idea to make a portfolio that somehow incorporates elements of my grad project so that it feels more cohesive. I think that my spreads showcasing my art will be similar to art books of professional artists, for example, an art book that I have that shows off Rembrandt paintings. I want my art to be the focal point and for the text to be very clean and minimal and simply be there for extra information.

Analogue Portfolio
For our next project, we will be creating our own analogue portfolio concepts and then later reworking them to display during our grad show exhibition. This should be very exciting, and I'm looking forward to figuring out how I would like to display my work.

I have been working on my app for a while now in Figma, and here is the finalized layout with interaction pathways. I decided to make my app very simple so that it is user-friendly and accessible. I added a feature alongside the scanning where you can upload your own recipes to the app. I think that this feature will add a fun social element that will make the app feel more lively and social. I had a fun time using Figma to create this app, and I think it came out well.

I created a small style guide that I can use to create my app so that it stays consistent. I chose to use a range of blue colours for that bright and poppy aesthetic, and I chose a very playful and silly font that will match well with the illustration component and appeal to the target user.

Here is my completed app icon. I like the way that it came out, and it has the imperfect illustration feeling that I wanted it to have and appears to be very friendly and welcoming.

I drew some ideas for possible logos for my app. I decided to go with the name "Pantry Pal" because this makes the app appear to be very friendly and like it's a friend that you can trust. I want the logo to appeal to my target demographic, so I am drawing it in a simple cartoon style, and I want it to be very poppy and colourful so that it will attract a younger adult audience.

This is a user persona that I created that shows a potential user in my target demographic. I would like to target the app to college students and young adults who don't have a lot of experience cooking. I think that by showing them easy recipes that they could create with what they already have could be a great way to allow people to learn how to cook better.

Here is a mood board that I created for my app. I researched different mobile apps with similar features and pulled things that I liked as Inspiration for my own app.
