Group Exhibition at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco
Tumblr media
I’m excited to have been invited to exhibit at The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco. My work will be featured alongside some of my favorite contemporary artists in an exhibition that considers the tradition of the “Day of Rest”. The group exhibition, “Sabbath: The Dorothy Saxe Invitational”, will run from November 12, 2017 through February 25, 2018. There will be a catalog that accompanies this exhibition.

Ford Family Foundation Publication, “Oregon Artists at Work”
Tumblr media
Honored to be featured in The Ford Family Foundation's "Oregon Artists at Work". This publication comments on the foundation's artist residency program and the 29 Oregon visual artists who were selected to be Ford Family fellows at the Djerassi Resident Artist Program (California) and the Ucross Foundation (Wyoming) between 20013 and 2016. I was an artist-in-residence at Djerassi in the fall of 2013.

Artist Talk at the Portland Art Museum
Tumblr media
The video of the artist talk that I did at the Portland Art Museum in April is up on PAM’s Youtube Channel. As part of PAM's Artist Talk program, the museum asks select artists to identify a piece from their permanent collection and discuss the individual artwork, the artist, and the relation to their own work. I selected Richard Serra’s “Untitled” from 1969 as the starting point.
During my talk, I discussed seven artworks of my own that are directly influenced by Serra, modernism, minimalism, and post-minimalism. I then focused on Serra's early work, leading up to "Untitled" (1969). I also discussed Serra’s controversial public work, “Titled Arc” (1981), as well as some of his more recent projects.
Thank you to the Portland Art Museum for selecting me to participate in their Artist Talk program!
