Oh that's botw and totk completely separated from everything else in my official zelda timeline

I'm hearing rumors about EoW Zelda being a silent protagonist, and that kind of makes sense from all of the trailers. I do think it's a bit of a missed opportunity, though. Idk if it's just me, but I don't see the point in switching out or usual silent protagonist for an established character that we normally speak with only to silence her. I don't think it helps how the art style isn't exactly expressive, so it's not like her character will shine through that either.
I'm still excited for the game, and a silent protagonist doesn't completely make or break the game. I just mourn for the missed opportunity.
#echoes of wisdom#zelda#2d zelda has hardly even been story heavy anyways#between 2d and 3d zelda the 2d games have always had simplistic stories in comparison#still it makes me wonder whats the point of switching link out if we cant enjoy zelda being zelda#its kinda like if in thousand year door anytime peach was playable she'd suddenly go quiet despite normally being able to speak#heck zelda in spirit tracks was even able to have some dialogue in her playble segments like to other phantoms or even to link occasionally#and its not like nintendo hasnt had chatty protagonists before (Pit)#edit: i say 2d zelda has simplistic stories in comparison but ofc there are exceptions like LA has one of my favorite stories

Still very excited, but please no more unlessly scrolling for a specific item like totk arrows 馃槶
It's such bad design and tedious, maybe they can fix it before then with a more practical system but idk
#the legend of zelda#loz#echoes of wisdom#and with these being used for puzzles these items will probably be more used and useful than the items you fuse to arrows#luckily though unlike totk elemental arrows you wont have to open the menu everytime you want to use an item even if its the same one you#just picked out#only complaint of the whole trailer i just hate that system of selecting an item
