I think if you gave Jareth a Baja blast he would drink the entire thing in one go and his eyes would get really big and he crushes the cup and then just starts vibrating until collapsing from the sheer amount of chemicals.

My thoery about Jareth’s feelings toward Sarah (at least one of my theories) are mostly like…embarrassment and disappointment at himself. I do not think he was in love with her tho, I think because she was so…fascinated by him. Playing on the fae rule of names having power- I think she kind of caught his attention by how much she talked about “The Goblin King” And stuff.
Jareth is a lonely lonely being, an ancient and mostly niche and unknown being. Being called upon and invoked so much by someone caught his attention. He enjoyed how she fawned over him, and because- in a way- Sarah willed it with words, he was compelled to her. He allowed this, mostly because it inflated his ego. But she has a very strong will, and wished and wished for him to help her that it ended up roping Jareth along. So when she actually didn’t want what she said she wanted, he got confused. She said that the goblin king was in love with her, and she said that she wished to be taken away. She wanted that more than anything. Why is she asking for her brother back? Why does she want to solve my Labyrinth?
Jareth as a character makes very strange contradictory promises because Sarah doesn’t even know what she wants from him. That’s not her fault of course, but she did make quite a mistake invoking the fae. Jareth, by the end of course Jareth is exhausted, as he says. He’s exhausted because Sarah basically manifested him loving her. But the worst part? That’s not her fault. It wasn’t her fault that the play she rehearsed was actually a sort of magical object to invoke the fae, it wasn’t her fault that she liked the play, and it wasn’t her fault she was fascinated by a fake character in a play that wasn’t supposed to be real.
Afterwards, Jareth of course feels used. The spell is broken now and he’s back to his loneliness and God-like power. Throttling with the fact that he was caught up and totally at the mercy of the overactive imagination of a lonely teenage girl.

Jareth: When I was younger, I left a trail of broken hearts. I’m not proud of it.
Sarah: You are proud of it. You work it into every conversation.

And we return with the sketch requests! This time it’s Jareth, the Goblin King from the movie Labyrinth, requested by @thejabberwookie !
Also, accidentally made a spooky version by turning on a clipping mask over the wrong layer:

I know for a fact Jareth’s room is fucking messy, it’s messy in a Howl Pendragon way but also if like rococo period lace and drapery threw up everywhere as well as like some shiny things and glitter. It’s like a 18th century prince bachelor pad.

There’s lit candles everywhere where it’s probably a serious fire hazard, he has a writing desk filled with half finished letters and paperwork and ink-splatted paper, quills, and inkwells. He’s both too lazy and too entitled to really clean or organize anything. There’s a bunch of broken furniture and shit in a corner collecting cobwebs and he won’t throw it away or anything. you cannot see the floor.

i love this a lot!!! i like the idea of him making up terrifying contraptions or tortures that might be inside to keep his reckless subjects away from it lmao
and the idea of toby coming in when he’s young maybe and learning to look up at the stars with wide-eyed fascination and understanding aaaaaaa…. it makes me so happy, it kind of calls to mind that one image i saw about being a child and going to a planetarium or something, where they try to explain the vastness of the universe to you and after that you’re never quite the same
i like to think maybe when jareth has had a stressful day he comes up to the observatory and spends some time there and. it puts everything into perspective. the sky is enormous and beautiful. for billions of years worse things have happened. it will be okay.
Jareth’s castle absolutely has an observatory. He's got every astronomy device under the sun, astrolabes, star maps that look like tapestries, etc.
And the funny thing is the door to it looks all scary because he tells the goblins it's a new prison chamber. "The bog and oubliettes have started to bore me," he says. But really the observatory is probably the nicest place in the castle, nicer than the throne room, nicer than his personal chambers even.
And he "begrudgingly" teaches Sarah or Toby how to read an astrolabe if they ask him.
That's it send tweet

like. just. imagining this enormous grizzly, her muzzle graying, standing in the sunlight. in the evening she almost looks orange; as the sun falls to the horizon, as it draws closer to her, the edges of her coat turn to a familiar shade of gold. she holds a kind of gentle authority over the surrounding world that her son could never achieve. she is at times a ferocious warrior, especially when defending what she holds dear, but usually everyone regards her animal form as a Big Fuzzy Weird Dog and she is more than content with that

For all of you labyrinth watchers, what’s your opinion on main character, Sarah? Personally, I never really liked her cause she seemed like one of those “I’m the main character you have to like me” characters, even now when I rewatched yesterday I felt it, but I want someone else’s opinion on it.

Good morning enjoy this thought that popped into my head while listening to Night Changes by One Direction
And I've been thinkin' about it lately
Does it ever drive you crazy
Just how fast the night changes?
Queue Jareth sleeping peacefully for the first time in probably centuries. As usual, he's dreaming about the could have beens. He's dreaming about how the Labyrinth would flourish with Sarah as his queen, the two of them ruling together as one.
And the thing about the dream is that it's so real. So real that when Jareth rolls on his side and opens his eyes, he swears he'll see Sarah laying next to him, her laughter like birdsong and her eyes so full of light they could put the sun to shame.
But instead he rolls on his side to find an empty bed.
Everything that you've ever dreamed of
Disappearing when you wake up
That's it thank you for coming to my Ted talk
