it makes me so intensely uncomfortable when #they use the fact el “looks like a boy” (due to her shaved head) as a talking point and gotcha moment 😭 not only is it incorrect and ridiculous because the only person who ever thought el was a boy was benny who saw from far away and immediately knew she was a girl when he saw her face. and that mike has never thought of her as a boy and the boys have referred to her as a girl the second they saw her. but there’s something inherently cruel about it. like els femininity, scratch that, her entire individual identity is something that her abuser had stolen and stripped from her that she fights to get back and you’re sitting here saying her boyfriend is only attracted to her because he believed she wasn’t a woman…. because she had….. a buzz cut? 😭😭😭 please come up with anything else, and maybe think coherently using the shows literal context before pulling theories out of your ass (hard ask, i know)
