Esprit Digital’s Longest Serving Employee
10 years ago today a young school leaver joined Esprit Digital as a trainee. As in every small business everyone has to do a bit of everything and the learning curve is either steep or it doesn’t work out. Luckily for us in this instance it worked out and James Wilder has rewarded us with a decade of loyal service. Starting as a general assistant, he progressed to production assembly, Operations Manager and then to his current role as Head of Special Projects, where he has been responsible for developing some of our highest profile projects around the world.
Thank you James, we have enjoyed watching you mature both personally and professionally - we wish you every success for the bright future you so deserve.

Esprit Digital wins the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s highest accolade for business achievement

Esprit Digital today joins an elite group of British companies who have been recognised for continued success in international trade. As a Queen’s Award winner the company has received an invitation to attend a special reception at Buckingham Palace with HM The Queen this coming July.
For many years Esprit has exported bespoke advertising screen solutions to every corner of the globe, often to the most high profile and challenging public environments such as Airports, Metros and Shopping Malls. Having completed sizeable projects on London Underground escalators, in Westfield London and Stratford and all of the major UK airports including Heathrow, Esprit embarked on a journey to introduce their ground-breaking designs and technology to large overseas infrastructure owners. Notable wins followed in Europe, the Middle East and the US before the company tendered for and won the largest ever digital rollout in Australia – 37 malls were converted from paper adverts to digital screens in 21 nights, a project worth over A$21 million.

They are only awarded to companies demonstrating the highest level of excellence over several years and spanning countless projects - we are truly honoured and delighted to receive the award for International Trade. After a year of unparalleled success for every aspect of the business in 2015, we are currently in the process of building a new ‘state of the art’ facility in Stevenage and will create up to 10 new positions this year. Over the summer we will be celebrating in style with a party for all of our worldwide staff attended by a Royal representative.”
Just over 100 Queen’s Awards have been announced this year for outstanding business achievement in the fields of International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development.
Managing Director Peter Livesey added, “Esprit has built its reputation on reliability, keeping screens working in difficult conditions 24/7/365 for a minimum of 5 years. As a company we are going from strength to strength and it is particularly gratifying that as one of the founders of the technology driving the digital out-of-home (DOOH) revolution, the whole team has been rewarded for a lot of very hard work.”
About the Queen’s Awards
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious accolades for businesses and individuals in the United Kingdom. The winners are announced each year on 21st April, Her Majesty The Queen’s birthday. The corporate awards recognise outstanding achievements by UK companies in three categories: International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. Each Award is valid for five years and winners are invited to a reception with HM The Queen at Buckingham Palace.

ESPRIT HAVE THE EYE FOR DIGITAL OUTDOOR
At 135 metres high, the Coca-Cola London Eye is the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel. With millions of people visiting the site each year, the Coca-Cola London Eye management team thought it was the right time to upgrade their existing digital infrastructure.
Esprit Digital were approached to design and build a world-class full outdoor solution to match the iconic status of the UK’s most popular paid-for visitor attraction. Following a 3-week design review process, Esprit were given the go-ahead to manufacture 6 Double-Sided Digital Totems. Incorporating the LG 47” 2000nit sunlight readable panels with 9.4mm toughened glass, these eye-catching units have been designed to run 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week and will display site messaging and company promotions to all guests and South Bank passers-by for the next 5-10 years.
Simon Casey, Coca-Cola London Eye’s Show Services Manager said: “The new Totems will form a fundamental part of our marketing offer as well as an important communication tool for our guests. It was a pleasure working with Esprit who understood the brief perfectly. We pushed them to really customise the technology and nothing was too much of a challenge. Esprit incorporated these into the chosen design and executed the build and installation program flawlessly.”
James Wilder, Esprit Digital’s Head of Special Projects said: “Working with Simon and the Coca-Cola London Eye team on this landmark install has been a rare privilege. They had an idea of what they wanted to achieve and the result has been really well received by both their staff and guests - I am sure there will be further digital implementations in and around the site over the next year”.
