So my conclusion after Shaper's Ripples is that Commandant is Vonnegut's bratty sub. That's my contribution as a fan. Have a nice day-

I just finished Shaper's Ripples and omg I did not expect them to commit and fuck everything up like this. It's great.
Also Vonnegut is definitely one of my favourite antagonist and character ever. I'm so fascinated by Kilgore Trout, though, like this can't be the end for him. His design (and in extension, Vonnegut's design) is too unique. Nemo has the most bland NPC design even if he's a unique character, meanwhile with Kilgore someone went out of their way to make him HOT. And a professor. Normally the Professors are bland or some bland old dude. I suspect the devs has plans for this guy.
And interestingly, Vonnegut's appearance seems to be that of Kilgore like at least 80%. I suspect his face has a bit of Nemo, hence the confusion, but generally he is basically Kilgore. I actually am fascinated to know why that is the case considering the frame belonged to Nemo. It sounded like Kilgore became the dominant personality. Kilgore is still very mysterious like we still know very little of him outside of him being like 'message from the past? why not,' and that he seems to have done what he did in the articles but even then it's not really explained exactly why he did it. It sounded like it was partly vengence?? Since one of the killers was responsible for his family's death. But yea, I am very curious about Kilgore's full story and his motivations even before he came across Nemo and became Vonnegut.
Also, I got to be a brat at Vonnegut so EHEHEHHEHE.
I was laughing too much and forgot to take screenshots of when I asked him about the cat lolllllllll that was genuinely adorable

I don't know what is with people's obsession with saying games have lost its identity. Like the only one I'd say apply (that I played) is WuWa? But it's mainly because they did not set up in story why things shifted the way it does and it just happened. But ZZZ and PGR? Some one complained that PGR is now looking like generic JRPG and I'm like... from what I played so far (which is now up to chapter 30) it's always been very JRPG because that is likely a huge inspiration? In my experience, JRPGs (or Asian RPGS rather) tends to be far more eclectic in their aesthetics and is never hard core fit in one box which is more common in Western games. An Asian sci-fi game is going to have some wild designs that crosses into the territories of other genres meanwhile Cyberpunk 2077 does not. It's just different design philosophies. In PGR, we had some wild shit when it comes to enemies like Cthylla looks like she came out of Diabo IV ffs that is not sci-fi. Most of their powers have no explanation within science, it's a cool factor and it's just accepted. I can understand not liking a design and criticising it, but 'losing its identity' has definitely became one of those terms the internet is using ad nauseum until it loses its meaning.
#alecto's ramblings#losing its identity is more than just chars with outfits you're not into#sci fi is has a framework but it doesn't need to be stuck in a box#somethings' identity includes everything it does as a whole

I'm fascinated by what's going on with Kilgore Trout/Vonnegut because like there is an implication that Ishmael has been around since the Golden Age and they met while Vonnegut was still presumably alive and human. And this seem to predate the Punishing virus quite a bit as well.
#pgr#punishing gray raven#this game has surprisingly little spoilers online#like I bumped into a few but so far it has not spoiler anything major for me except for like one#but I ran out of the post really quickly
