also more hcs bc again. chunhua has my braincell.

she's the reason the xianzhou developed its own version of the "crane bride" legend. after chunhua disappeared from the public eye, rumors began to spread that she could easily have been a divine crane in human form, leaving the world behind after she was found out - or perhaps her unfinished business was finally finished.

over the years of her hiding, these rumors weaved themselves into its own legend. those that knew chunhua from her years in the cloud knights contributed, with a novice diviner from the luofu's divination commission even stating that the crane would return when the xianzhou needed her most.

with that being said, chunhua did not return to the public eye when the denizens of abundance ambushed the luofu during the xianzhou storyline. she returns to aid the luofu after the stellaron incident is resolved. and when the crane does return on the wind, there's a slim chance she'd be recognized by looks alone.

when chunhua first joined the cloud knights, her hair was black. but due to the overwhelming stress she had to put up with during her years of service as a result of putting mara-stricken comrades out of their misery, and having to tell their families what happened and why, her hair lost all of its color and thus turned white.

perhaps it was a miracle coraline never met her father. a blessing, if one would.

as young as she may be, her childlike mind understood why her mother left her father. he was mean, and he constantly hurt her mother. the little girl was raised by her mother, along with a few strange folks.

... though strange was putting it lightly.

there were some odd folks arya kept her daughter away from, but others were trusted with the child when she'd leave for a job. coraline was surrounded by those good people with the masked fools and the tavern. it wasn't an ordinary childhood, but every moment mattered in the present moment.

she just wished her mother wasn't so hard on herself.

the only child of unnamed parents of unknown upbringing, chunhua’s parents were once loving towards their beloved pride and joy regardless of what came their way - and yet the tragedy that was abundance’s double-edged sword would always lurk in the shadows, waiting for the right time to strike. tragically, chunhua’s parents eventually became mara-struck when she was still a child, and eventually this made the young girl grow up faster than she wanted - a child of calamity was what they started calling her, blaming little chunhua for the affliction that would soon prove their demise.

over the short time, her parents were slowly losing their humanity. even though their mentality became twisted and their hate was directed towards the daughter they once loved, chunhua still loved them unconditionally - even if it meant she had to put an end to them herself, so they could at least die with some humanity remaining. she was the only one present by their funeral pyres.

years go by as she struggled to survive on her own. eventually chunhua joined the xianzhou luofu’s troops as a foot soldier, learning to fight with a polearm amongst other weaponry. but after serving in the military for so many years, having to repeat the process of putting mara-struck comrades out of their misery over and over… eventually, chunhua could no longer feel emotions outwardly - forcing herself to put up so many walls just so she wouldn’t have to cry as a friend’s eyes became devoid of light and life in her arms. and yet the soldiers she was forced to slay at their pleas and cries forgave her for turning her blade on them. they smiled through the pain as their lives came to an end... and finally, their final thoughts ring, would they rest in peace.

after her time in the ranks of the cloud knights had concluded, she left with the rank of a captain, and mysteriously vanished from the public eye. years pass, and eventually her name and story are nothing short of a legend.

... that is until she finally gains the courage to return, like a crane upon the wind.
