• Luke 18 • Love and Light •
“As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. And hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what this meant. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” And he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover my sight.” And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.” (Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭35‬-‭43)
A beautiful point this story in Luke 18 makes is that Jesus will always answer us. The blind man that was calling out to him was told to be quiet yet he continued calling out to Jesus. Jesus could’ve kept going on His journey but He never missed an opportunity to help others. His main focus was saving all those that His Father gave Him.
He stops and takes the time to ask the man what he was asking of him. The man wanted his sight and so Jesus heals him and allows him to regain his sight. Jesus our Lord, Savior, and Shepherd gives us grace upon grace. Grace we don’t deserve but His compassion and forgiveness are boundless and endless.
Jesus’s love for us is the most beautiful thing and is what should inspire us to be more like Jesus Himself and be a beckon of His love and light to the world around us.

“Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;” —1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (NASB)
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” —John 3:16 (NASB1995)
“The Power of Love” By In Touch Ministries:
“God offers His love to every person, no matter their past—and He wants us to do the same.”
“Today’s passage tells us that love doesn’t “rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth” (v. 6). In other words, God doesn’t want His children to turn a blind eye to sin. Yet at the same time, Christians are to look for ways to help unbelievers discover the Father’s love for them.
The Lord lovingly created each of us, and even though we’re all sinners who have fallen short, we have the potential to be made into something good. He considers even the most evil and corrupt person worth saving. How do we know this is true? Because in the first verse we teach our school children, Christ said that whoever believes in His Son will have eternal life (John 3:16). And why would He do this? The answer’s in the same Because God loves us. There is nothing we can do to deserve His love. God doesn’t work that way. He loves every single person, no matter how awful his or her sin may be.
The Lord extends His care, His mercy, and His salvation to anybody who wants it. He keeps no record of wrongs. He loves without conditions. And He wants us to love others in the same way.”

It’s May, it’s spring 🌼 And that can only mean one thing: it’s Mental Health Month! And we are celebrating it here on Tumblr in the dashboard’s own inimitable style. And we are celebrating it with you, because this month we will need all the help from you we can get. We are asking you to provide the vibes—Good Vibes Only, to be precise. 🎉
We want it all: the content that brings you comfort and joy, helpful resources, tips, advice, and techniques for making it through a bad day, week, month… here on Tumblr, it’s all about fostering the very best vibes to create the kindest atmosphere possible. In doing so, you never know what help you might receive. And you never know what help you might give for others, too. 🫶💌
We are joining forces with our partners at @Kokobot with a daily act of kindness challenge. And it’s a really rather wonderful challenge—each day, we will share a small prompt to share something that has helped you through your hardest times. It could be anything: a song, a story, a shitpost, a cat video, a precious piece of advice. But don’t forget to tag your responses with #TumblrGoodVibesOnly #goodvibesonly #spreadgoodvibes
Doing something for others It may not be the most obvious choice in the grip of a dark time, but studies show that helping others really can benefit one’s own mental health and well-being. Whether by reducing stress, improving mood, self-esteem, and happiness. Win-wins don’t get much better than that—and these are the ✨ very best 💫 of vibes.
Sadly these can often feel like dark days, and the internet is no different. However, with a bit of luck and some of your best tips of kindness, we hope to share the wealth of kindness with others, bring the best in Tumblr’s wonderful community, and help others to help ourselves with 🌻Good Vibes Only.💫
And once again, for good luck: don’t forget to tag your responses with #TumblrGoodVibesOnly #goodvibesonly #spreadgoodvibes!

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Pray = talk to God
Prayer is talking to God. It’s how we communicate and connect with Him.
Sometimes when we need something from God we go to someone for help, like our pastor or priest or someone more “spiritual” than ourselves.
But what if I told you that you didn’t need to do that. That you can ask God for ANY thing you need at ANY time from ANY where you are. You don’t need to be at church or to be someone “closer to God” or “more spiritual.”
Pastors and priests and other religious leaders are amazing and can teach us a lot but they did not—nor could they ever do—what Jesus did.
Jesus Christ died for us. To save us. To unite us to God the Father. To send us the Holy Spirit.
Jesus didn’t come to just show us the way to the Father. Jesus IS the Way to God the Father. He is and was and always will be The Way, The Truth, and The Life. And He promised to send us a helper, an advocate—The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is always with us and knows what we need before we know ourselves. The Holy Spirit speaks to God when we don’t even know the words to say or how we should pray.
And the best part??? Jesus promised to send His Holy Spirit to all who believe in and follow Him! So we never have to seek someone else except The Holy Spirit. It’s like we have a direct line to Heaven.
*In John 16 we hear more from Jesus about talking to God through prayer:
““Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”” (John‬ ‭16‬:‭25‬-‭28‬)

Open Arms
Jesus is waiting for us with open arms.
Even when He layed down His Life in exchange for ours on the cross, it was with open arms.
We often tend to feel as if we have to earn God’s Love and acceptance but the truth is we don’t. In fact we would never be able to.
It is solely through the gift of His Saving Grace that we are saved. It is only through His Son, our Lord and Savior, that we can come to God the Father as He welcomes us with open arms.

Someone cares for you deeply
Sometimes we can feel alone. Isolated. Like no one even knows who we are. We doubt ourselves, our purpose, our identity. The good news is that Someone does know who we are. The same One who created us. In fact the Bible tells us He created us in His very Own Image (Genesis 1:27, 2:7) and knows us better than anyone (Psalm 139). This Someone also cares about us more than we know or can even begin to imagine (Psalm 8:4). This Someone is also the One who promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). This Someone’s Name is Jesus, our Lord and Savior, our God.

“Hide Thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; And renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Thy presence; And take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; And uphold me with Thy free Spirit.”
— ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51‬:‭9‬-‭12‬ ‭(KJV‬‬)
